Thats why the disc guards turn out so nice as well a the aluminum bits. Loving the upgrades you have made to this car so far, the end result will be absolutely epic!

Hi Phil, Not gonna lie, really did love this video. I love all the videos to be fair but this one was soo satisfying to watch the dry ice blasting process.
The dry ice cleaning is next level in under car cleaning. The Porsche is Going to look and run amazing once you get the engine rebuilt. Great video, more on the engine next video.👍👊🤘😀
Great work by both specialists 👍 Also, nice editing, your skills as a videographer and editor are really showing there. A full video on either might have gotten tedious but swapping between the two really made it enjoyable to watch. Cheers
Incredible phill what a finish looks awesome ! Engine video is very interesting too looks to be no really nasty surprises looking forwards to the upgrades and build stay safe !
Please accept my apologies for being a little slow talking. Since having heart problems I’ve discovered that i get out of breath even doing such a simple video.
Karcher are developing a machine that has its own dry ice production section. Obviously much bigger and more £££ but far more useable in that you don't have to plan ahead to order dry ice and you can stop mid job for as long as you need.
BOC/Triventek also produced something similar a few years back. Terribly inefficient and the Ram/chamber (used to turn liquid CO2 into dry ice) was a nightmare with constant seizures. I’ve heard that Karcher has the same issues. Also wouldn’t be cost effective unless hooked up to a 100 ton liquid CO2 tank. Using small liquid CO2 canisters will end up costing around £4-£5 per kg!!
I don't know about the cost & all, but the speed & effectiveness of that dry-ice cleaning is awesome! And I'd guess clean up isn't too bad, comparatively to a bunch of runoff. Either way was really cool seeing that get cleaned up & stoked to see the build come along!
Super clean body and saves time stripping parts off to clean. Glad you fond the fault with the cylinders and up grades. Look forward to the next video.👍💯

Looks mega ! Deffo need to re apply some clear dinitrol or similar... Just restored under side of my golf and it pains me to clear wax oil it as it's so clean now but I'm going to have to soon, Would be interesting to know what Porsche used to use back in the day it's it's clearly good stuff. Essentially the ice blasting is just removing that with the dirt that's stuck to it not sure how effective it would be at removing rust
If you want to geek out on dry ice blasting check out obsessed garage's video's on it, higher end machines can be dialed in for nearly any surface so no damage is done
This was my concern too. Whilst the orange/brown gunk is unsightly, I'm led to believe that it is Coraline, which is intended to protect from corrosion. Suspension looks beautiful though.
This technique is used widely in heavy industry. Just takes it's time to filter into other fields. I can imagine this will become quite popular if the price is right.
So am I right in thinking the media is ice and if it goes anywhere that normal grit isn't suppose to go there is no damage because it evaporates to water ?
The media is dry ice - carbon dioxide in solid form, there's no water in it, big difference to "normal" ice. Also, it goes straight from solid to gas (sublimation) so it leaves no residues behind.
