Fun fact: The original TV show was marketed in Asia as "The Kato Show" because Bruce Lee as Kato was just that much more popular than whoever the guy was who played Green Hornet.
And this movie is about that view of the Green Hornet being 'The Kato Show'
@@DJW1959Aus More like "The Kato Movie" also starring Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet
In Portugal they called it “The Adventures of Bruce Lee”!
And to his credit Van Williams ("the guy") would be the first one to tell you this.
Every Bruce Lee fan knows it was called THE KATO show I'm Asia. GLAD you to us....
Ultimate Sin was Seth Rogan trying to be believable as a crime fighter. Jay Chou as Kato was pretty inspired. Britt in the original was competent, not Clouseau.
But not compared to Bruce Lee as Kato.
@@DJW1959Aus Clearly.
@@DJW1959Aus Is that a fair standard? Honestly, Rogan and the uneven script were the problems with this movie, not Jay Chou or the other actors.
@@Some_Guy_In_Ohio Seth Rogen's and Evan Goldberg's screenplay Is of course uneven. That is Seth's type of humor and he is meant to be a Clouseau type of character.
@@DJW1959Aus Jay Chou is a musician though so he's obviously not gonna be Bruce Lee's Kato.
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that Seth Rogan was only 29 in this movie. He looks like he's kicking 40s door down
I remember being obsessed with this film as a child without actually understanding what's going on XD
Same
Me but with every movie
Saaame
Is this a universal phenomenon?
It was this and the green lantern movie for me lol
The beginning of this movie isn't Seth Rogan acting, it's how he actually is.
so it is him, i thought my eyes were playing tricks
wait? Seth Rogan knows how to act!? I thought they just convinced him that the movie was real like Bolt!
@@liamnehren1054 I use the term "act" extremely loosely.
“Beginning” hehe
The _entirety_ of this movie, I'd say...
To this day, I still wanna know, why was there a dirt bike in the bathroom when Brett and Kato fight
It symbolize the dirty fight.
Ya mean, why is there a bath in the dirt bike room ? Wassup ! 🤓🇺🇦😜
Because he's a spoiled rich kid who doesn't know all he crap he has and is symbolic of his uncharted life
#richpeoplethings
So you're saying you don't have a dirt bike?
Only comment on this I have is that old cars actually had record players in them and the level of science, engineering and precision it took to make a record playable while driving down uneven roads was badass. It's that kind of thing that makes old cars have so much character because the designers actually gave a damn.
Luxury cars were essentially nice furniture on wheels.
My grandfather was a radio lab engineer for Chrysler during the 50's. One thing he couldn't solve is the skipping due to bumps or lateral g-forces without damaging the record itself. This is why the option was extremely short lived, 55-57 if memory serves.
By the time this 1966 Chrysler Imperial came out, there was no record player option. OP's comment is correct, just not for the specific year this car was built.
@@bandwagon240 Yeah, they existed, but were basically only usable while parked. They tried to eliminate the bump factor by mounting vertically but on a '50s suspension it didn't really matter.
Was going to say this lol
@@bandwagon240
That’s awesome! I manage a moderate size warehouse (30) and 4 of my workers have mechanical engineering degrees. 2 of them seem fairly smart too. Hope they can get a better job one day! One is 35 I keep telling him he needs to make social media accounts and play the game of modern times, def not like the olds days! Want to work for Chrysler or Microsoft? They prob hire 3 ppl for that role lol, better play the part or not gonna get the good jobs!
This was Christoph Waltz's follow up to his Oscar winning breakout performance in Inglorious Bastards. At his acceptance speech, he thanked my sister's childhood best friend, who was his agent. The agent who presumably also got him this job. So I'm sinning Adam for that.
Okay.
Inglourious Basterds*
Christoph Waltz nails it as the main Villain.
he always does.
I have always wanted to see him at a parent teacher conference. I don’t know why.
James Franco was hysterical. I wish his character wasn't killed off so early
@@Stackali I take it you didn't see Spectre.
He was so much better than everyone else that it was distracting. I was rooting for him simply because his acting skill vs Rogens was so one sided.
This is the closest I’ll ever come to watching this movie
Your loss
I saw it once with my parents...
The amount of cussing was. Surprising to say the least.
Or you could just watch it.
You dodged a bullet.
it's unironically worth a watch for Christoph Walrz alone
Kato doing all the work is literally the show.
Nope. Britt Reid was actually competent and useful in the original show. Moving on.
@@wilcee238 one day you'll learn what a joke is. Moving on.
Best things about this film: Kato's motorcycle and Kato kicking Britt through the door. That ish was the funniest moment in the entire film!
Green Hornet and his Kung Fu Butler are going for a walk.
A very enthusiastic walk.
Van Helsing abridged?
I always upvote a Hellsing Abridged reference
@@greyfox2822 Same
Too good areference for this steaming pile of a movie
Ditto. I love it when they proudly play their Alu Card.
2:41 Johnny’s rendition of I hung my head was great
The movie ended with Kato getting away from the cops because the car was able to change colors instantly
Wow. Perfect strangers reference and hearing Balki… Bartakamus (sp?) so awesome.
Now Perfect strangers was a pretty funny show
I loved the idea of a normal crime boss embracing pump supervillain dress up as part of a mid life crisis
Regarding that scene where the front end of the car is driving through the office building with no rear end..... That should not be possible, as it was a 1966 Chrysler Imperial, which was REAR wheel drive! To the best of my knowledge, nothing in the movie indicated that the car had been specially modified to be front-wheel drive.
If anyone wants to watch some Green Hornet that's actually fun, the original serial is on youtube.
the fact he didnt sin the fact he thought the pool guy was kato was suprising
LOVED the audio outtake at the end from "MST3K Mitchell"! 😂😂😂
Man I always loved Kato growing up. Hooray Bruce Lee.
I expected our gallant narrator to bark out a declarative, "SKIP!" with the record player scene.
Now _that_ would've been witty!
Remember when the Mythbusters made a whole episode for this movie? Honestly, they are the only reason I know about it.
Will look this up later.. thanks
Yup, and the producer guy or whatever kept trying to handwave things when the myths got busted. Shame they didn't do the episode before they wrapped up production so they could've actually squeezed those justifications in there.
Literally just watched a sins video where someone referenced the green hornet and here we are full circle 😂💀
"Dont be a pussy" has a deep power to it. Hard to resist
You weren't kidding when you said "Forgettable" lol
Please sin "You Got Served"
HOW WERE YOU HERE SO FAST
No lie search Primms Hood Cinema his You Got Served video fumny af

This set-up is like if Alfred became Batman and Bruce Wayne the drunken party boy financing it insisted he get to come along for the ride and get the glory
Michel Gondry deserves another chance
He has a really cool style
Finally now we'll get the pitch meeting for this film 😆
Oh God. I had forgotten all about this travesty until now. Thanks, CinemaSins.
I was expecting a "Holy sh*t! That can't possibly be the incomparable Edward James Olmos!" because that's what I blurted out as soon as I saw him.
I know it's going to be mocked to hell, but I actually really liked this movie and enjoyed it. I watch it on the regular.
Mock! Mock!
wdym it's a goated movie
@@AceMoonshot MOOCK mock mock mock...
@@8Biit MOCK? Mock...mock mock mock. Mock mock. Mock!!! ---Hell--->

This is one of those "big actor wants to be a famous character even though they're a terrible fit for the role" films, isn't it?
And then wrote himself to be the biggest asshole?
Despite so many well known actors slumming it here I think what I found most horrific was seeing Commander Adama in there! The absolute horror. Thanks again to all the Sins crew for keeping me laughing! ❤
Sometimes you have to roll the hard six.
@@colormedubious4747 so say we all.
And they show EJO immediately after he just said how crazy the casting was in this movie 😂
Nah, pretty sure that was Lt. Castillo. 🙃
Awesome throwback reference to Pimp My Ride hope everyone caught it.
Finally the green hornet I’ve been waiting for this cinemasins for years
This really does feel like a movie, playing inside another movie
it's arguably one of the movies of all time
Watched this when I was 12, and I enjoyed it. Now, I've realized that this movie is so freakin' exhausting and Christolph Waltz totally carried this movie. This was my first movie of him, and Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz, and David Harbour. I watched this basically because of Jay Chou, I had seen him in Initial D movie.
I just wish Jay Chou had actually composed a song for this movie instead of just using his "Nunchucks" song which came out 10 years before this movie did.
I'll make it easy...The only thing right in the whole movie was Kato, that and the fact the movie sin counter maxes out at 9999 😂
I never understood how there could be an almost balanced fight between them in the first place. Kato being a fighter and Britt being a joke. It made no sense and took me out of the movie completely
It's a comedy.
@@actualamateur149 that's no excuse for lack of internal logic is it? The dumb fight wasn't even funny or entertaining. And this is coming from someone who loves everything gondry
@@mhouston2968 It's not that deep.
@@actualamateur149 It's TRYING to be a comedy.
@@actualamateur149 okay i knew it was either this response or "you must be fun at parties."🤣 Thanks for the rewarding exchange
I really like this movie-bummed we won't see the sequels they had planned before this movie bombed.
I remember that Perfect Strangers episode. It was fantastic, one of my favorites. 😁
Ohhhh yeah! I remember NOT watching this movie!
If it's one thing I've learned from these videos is I need more lamps.
Some of the things Jeremy says in his cinemasins videos are very funny, but not all of them. 2 examples of his not-so-funny comments are the lamps, why does he care how many lamps are in a room? Or his apple asshole thing, eating an apple doesn't automatically make someone an asshole
Wait, this movie hasn't sinned yet?
Kato's action scenes were pretty cool and how unlikable do you want the Green Hornet to be?
*Green* *Hornet* *movie* : Yes
I loved this movie and then I rewatched it and was like “Yikes!”
If you ever watched the first or second, I forget which, Green Hornet movie serial there is a scene where the bridge they are driving on is blown up and they crash. Next episode shows them lying down in the grass from the crash, having fallen out of the car. Then they just get up and run away. That's when I discovered that the Green Hornet and Kato both have some limited invulnerability. 🙂
Alright, the best thing about this "Green Hornet" movie is that it reminded you of "Perfect Strangers" - that was a pretty entertaining episode. The Russian remake did a version of it too, come to think of it.
Anyway, thank you for suffering through the rough movies as well as poking fun at the better ones.
I loved the MST3K sound bite at the end!
129 is not enough sins for this movie...
I legit forgot this was a movie.
One of the most underrated films of all time.
oh piss off with that nonsense lmao
I remember this movie being cooler….. I was an idiot back then…
Movie ended that way because they expected there to be a sequel.
A million sins just for Seth Rogan
Oh, I remember watching this movie when it came out....mostly because of it's action scenes stool out, but character and storywise....it's basically forgettable like The League of the Extraordinary Gentlemen
I remember loving this movie when I was a kid, thought it was so cool
Still is cool tf you mean
the first movie i have memory of seeing in theatre
I remember wanting to watch it when it came out, but i never did.
I know I’m in the extreme minority, but I absolutely love this movie
I used to, but I watched it again and it was so cringe. I am also upset that Jay Chou hasn’t had a bigger Hollywood career. He has so much charisma.
Thank you reinforcing my low opinion of Rogen as an actor.
I can't believe you did not mention the great actor Edwards James Olmos, who was in Battlestar Galactica!
I'm surprised he didn't sin the fact that half a car was driving through an office lol
This film is surprisingly accurate to the source material. I really enjoyed. I'm not sure how they could've done it better. But no movie is without sin! I enjoyed your comments on it.
sup plastic man
@Galaxy Eyes greetings citizen!
Hahaha. You are absolutley right on every sin, but that is exactly why I love this movie! Total nonsense from beginning to end, this is great.
Very interesting that there are so many people who genuinely like this movie, and I have to say I'm one of those people.
I literally mixed up Green Hornet and Green Latern in my head, in a way that it became one and the same movie. Thanks for reminding me these were two disasters, not just one lol
So 20 years after this movie someone watched this and the bottle opening meme was born
I've actually watched the original episodes of The Green Hornet with Bruce Lee as Kato. He was the best part of the series. It was a lot more serious than this, bit less campy than Batman was around the same time. This just strikes me as someone who thought making the show into a movie would be a good idea, then just can't make movies worth shit.
Was a waste of time back in the day, watching this movie
So, I feel redeemed watching ya shred it
I still wanna know what piece Kato was playing on the piano during the date night scene
They really didn't have to go that hard on the flaws of this movie. But also, 13:55. 😂
This is one of my favorite movies genuinely. Just fun the whole time.
ive got to be one of the very few people who genuinely enjoys this movie.
This is a great episode of my favourite UA-cam sitcom.
Every time Cinema Sins says, "That's racist." I always have to rewind it. Because 95% of the time, it's not actually racist.
Very true. People are hyper sensitive and have forgotten what racism actually is. However I do think he is doing if for comedic effect most of the time
I CANNOT believe you would say something so racist ... cmon ...
14:55 sin removed Waltz acting here is just too good, and Katos reaction is chefs kiss. Pretty good actor actually I enjoy most of his kung fu stuff.
Wow, I totally forgot Seth fucking Rogen made a Green Fucking Hornet movie. It's a bizarre thing to remember since it was such a fever dream of an experience back when it came out 😮
I can’t believe this video is only 17 minutes long. I actually thought this would be your longest one when I saw what movie you were doing
This film is an actual account of Seth Rogans everyday life
You guys should sin "The Falculty", my favorite guilty pleasure film to watch every year
Lol yes breaking your child's toy is the worst thing a father can do. Right ahead of abandonment and molestation
Oh man. I have not thought about Perfect Strangers in over twenty years. What a throwback.
LOLWUT, the hung my head cover is amazing my guy!
5:02 There is a reason why the live action Green Hornet series was better known as "The Kato Show" in Hong Kong....
The only three things I remembered about this movie is the name, that I've seen it, and that it has a cool guy named Kato.
8:17 That, sir... is Edward James Olmos... Gaff from Blade Runner!
A reminder: Midnight Cowboy would be awesome here
Mad props for the MST reference.
This is probably my favorite action comedy film
10:31 - hard agree on this one. Somewhere, Peter Sellers and Burt Kwouk are shaking their heads and thinking, "We inspired *that*?"
In fairness, some of the higher end cars used to have record players at one point
1:28 The sign didn't ignite, the light shorted out.
Plus all the sins to cinema sins for reupload
I literally forgot this movie exists. Also forgot i saw this in theaters
You know, at least the Green Hornet theme is an absolute banger. Funnier, I’ve played it in my college jazz band. Just, weirdly funny coincidences.
you mention ageism at one point
fun fact, according to US law it's impossible to be, in a legal sense, ageist against anyone younger than 40 which is batshit insane. Shouldn't it cover, idk... all ages?
The Hornetmobile is based on a 60s Chrysler Imperial, and Chrysler sold optional record players for their cars. (Obviously not meant to be used while the car was in motion though)
