  • Denver, Colorado tumbled mightily in the most recent "Best Places to Live" list by one media outlet. From number two just a few years ago, all the way down to number ninety-nine. Yeesh!
What gives? I look into the reason for the drop, the methodology behind the rankings, the other Colorado cities that have not seen such a steep decline, and which cities ranked above Denver have a case-and which don't.

If Denver wasn’t expensive it would be a lot higher. Price is way too high for what you get

I’m just blown away how Boulder can still be so high.

The more important marker over Affordability is Value.
Boulder has never devalued itself, Denver and area has lost value in last ten years. Prices of everything up, swallowing up of denver landmarks by developers up, crowded and busy to do anything, bad traffic and hopeless traffic engineering, crippling traffic to the mountains, no more off season prices for mountain resorts and hotels, and those big city problems that we’re all subsidizing now.
Been here 25 years, not worth the price and issues anymore. The value for the buck just isn’t there.
Best places to live lists should be banned as they just create the euphoria for people to move there and make them not so best as this is the case with denver

I am not surprised by this - I’m a Denver native & this city has done a complete 360 for the worst - the state of Colorado in general is not what it once was, it’s really unfortunate.

Enjoyed your commentary! After Covid Denver changed- super expensive, Denver is a homeless go to city- what's there to do? Larimer square nothing ggoing on, 16 street mall pathetic, comedy works- is it still there even- there's No draw to downtown Denver. I agree with u on Boulder it's gotten more statusy but still da bomb. Traffic isn't any better here than California. My two cents. And property taxes will continue to rise!

I hear you. Certainly true that downtown is nothing special at the moment, but we still have plenty to do…at least more than Green Bay. 😂

I admire your positivity but I think you’re living on another planet. One third of Denver downtown is vacant. Homeless, illegal immigrants, crime, drugs, traffic, and cost of living are out of control. If you are an extreme liberal move to Denver. You’ll be quite happy enjoying all that “wokeness” has to offer.

Green Bay - number 1? Put down the crack pipe. I wouldn't live anywhere on the front range - keep your big cities. But if I had to, it would be Colorado Springs over any others mentioned on the list. I'm more of a Silverton guy. So domicile status has shifted from Colorado, perhaps your housing prices will come down.

I moved from downtown Denver in 2019, I went to visit a few friends 2 weeks ago, and it's a complete shit show. Downtown Denver is now a mini Downtown Seattle, San Fransico, and LA. The state of Colorado is excellent. However, Denver is far from worth the cost of living.

I think the award for "Most Audaciously Placed Higher Than Denver" Award goes to Tucson, AZ. Simply unfathomable

I don’t disagree. The town has a great JW Marriott and that’s about all I can say.

I've lived in Huntsville and moved to Denver a year ago. Huntsville, while I do miss certain parts of it, has much much less to do. It's a nice little bubble in Alabama but still, I don't think it's anywhere near as 'desirable' as Denver is... whatever that means I guess. It doesn't deserve such a higher rating than Denver, is all I'll say!

Interesting-thanks for weighing in because I have ZERO clue about Huntsville.

Excellent Mens Wearhouse in Green Bay. Difficult to get sizes not XL and above however.
    Vegas 136 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It’s true that medium and large sizes are conspicuously absent in that Men’s Wearhouse!
Vegas got absolutely robbed. It provides a VERY valuable service to this country.
