    Boring isn't a bad thing when it comes to cars. I'd rather have a boring reliable Camry than an exciting broken down Corvette.

      I agree 100%! What are your needs? I need to get to work, meetings & family and that doesn't require style! It require reliability and safety, which is what Camry's are! “The most successful people I know are also the most reliable!”

    The main reason why I'd take a Camry over the Accord is because it has a regular automatic. God I hate CVTs, regardless of who makes them.

    • @nigmosh65
      @nigmosh65 8 років тому +1

      Or you could get the sport model with a 6spd manual transmission.

    • @Lucky8s

      Rat Face Good choice if I wanted a manual, but if I wanted a 6 spd automatic, I'd have to step up to one of their expensive V6 trims (compared to I4 trims).

    The Camry is rarely anyone's "favorite" vehicle, it's just that buying this over other cars is the wisest decision for most people.

    Got myself a 2015 Camry SE, it's a fantastic car with excellent ride quality, space and comfort. It's kind of like an iPhone, it may not be the most cutting edge or advanced, but it just works and they're reliable. And that's perfect for most buyers.

    Been driving the 2016 Camry SE, and I love it! I've driven my friend's LE too and the difference of handling and acceleration can be felt easily. The interior, to me, isn't boring as I like it simple and easy to use. I'd love to have the V6, but the I4 isn't any slower for my taste and IT GOES FAST! ;)

    I own a Black 2015 XSE V6 that I bought last year & it's been an awesome car so far! I bought the V6 mainly for it's extra refinement & rarity. I've been driving mine for a year & I haven't even seen 10 V6's on the road so far!

    • @urafudgehead
      @urafudgehead 8 років тому +1

      +rnorred1986 Dunno where you're driving...here in Sacramento, CA I see several Camry/Accords I4/V6 everyday...and they're different ones lol. Even Sonatas and Optimas are common here. I don't see many Ford Fusions or Chevy Malibus that aren't government/fleet cars.

    • @DisneyMusicVideos
      @DisneyMusicVideos 8 років тому

      +FudgeRevolution I live in Orange County, CA & I see a whole bunch of old and new Camry's. I keep a sharp eye on the 15's & 16's every time I see one which I see at least 5-10 of them everyday & nearly all of them I see have a Single Exhaust = 4-cylinder. V6 = Dual Exhaust. Even the dealer I bought mine at had nearly 400 Camry's in stock & only 10 of them had the V6. Most of the other dealers where I live rarely have any V6 Camry's in stock ever. I see a few older V6 Camry's here & there, but not very often. Most family sedan shoppers pick the 4-cylinder for it's lower price & better fuel economy.

    • @oldtwins
      @oldtwins 8 років тому

      +FudgeRevolution he said the v6 models, not the I4's. The V6 is a totally different ride experience, very powerful and smooth , a true sleeper that blows the doors off so many other so-called sports cars.

    I love my 2014 Camry and the one introduced in 2015 and beyond basically changes the styling and makes it more polished. The car is a great value. The 4 cyl model is great as a daily driver which is why anyone would buy this car in the first place. I have the v6 and a few notes on that; the 6 is strong but the transmission exchanges any sort of snap with smoothness. The transmission is smooth but not as quick as in the Accord or Passat so sporting intentions for rapid launches in the city should not be expected even if it does have respectable power. The V6 Camry is the perfect highway cruiser. If I were to get a new Camry, Id go with the XLE over the XSE; the XLE doesnt handle that much worse than an XSE but the XLE does have that much more of a noticeable improvement in ride quality.

    A new Camry for the 2018 model year is coming in less than 18 months.
    i have seen it and it definitely looks more upscale and less forgettable.

    Reasons for Toyota's success. Quiet, comfortable, reliable, affordable. I test drove a Mazda 6 on the mean and broken streets of New York City. It was noisy, hard riding and the 4 cylinder engine was slow. You can still get a 6 cylinder with the Toyota.

    • @vossler360
      @vossler360 8 років тому

      +Ben Stern A sport-tuned suspension usually compromises some ride comfort, as you probably experienced with the Mazda6. If you were to leave the mean streets of NYC, then perhaps the above-average sportiness of the 6 would have been more evident.
      While it is true that the Camry has the 6 cylinder as an option, it will push the sticker well into the $30K range. For that money most people will start to look into an entry-level Lexus.

    • @vossler360
      @vossler360 8 років тому

      Ganso Goose No doubt, but 0-60 times may not be as important to the average Toyota or Lexus buyer as much as brand prestige. Plus the IS200t will do the 0-60 run in about 6.8 seconds and is RWD.

    The V6 Camry goes from 0 to 60 in only 5.5 seconds !!! Now that is sports-car territory levels of acceleration !!!

    Im starting to think reviewers are not in tune with the customer base when it comes to judging cars. My 2015 Camry SE has more than 'adequate' power ive flat out smoked v6's in other cars. Some cars reviewers like are not selling well at all and usually have a reliability problem. The camry does not get the praise it deserves from reviewers yet it sells more tham any other car. Which means Toyota must be doing something right.

  • @adaniel2224

    Bought one with 39k miles. Only complaint is there seems to be a sligt clunk in the right rear suspension when driving 5mph and turning over a bump. Can hit a big bump no issue sometimes hit a pebble and hear a clunk. Taking it in thursday , probobly something simple. Otherwise im happy with the car.

    I would rather it have a boring interior for a 23k car. Maybe it's just my taste. I don't like the Mercedes, Cadicallc, and Porsche interior design because it seems difficult to use and leaves a lot of room for mistakes when switching between phones to radio or other station lol.

    I considered purchasing a new Camry last month. In the end, I went for a 2016 Nissan Maxima (awesome car BTW). I see so many Camry's, Accord's, and Altima's on the road that I felt I wanted something different. You can't deny the reliability of a Camry, though. Terrific car and terrific value.

    Does that Camry sales figure include fleet sales? I thought I read that if you remove the fleet sales of the Camry, actual individual sales favor the Accord and not the Camry.

    • @AutoEsoterica
      @AutoEsoterica 8 років тому +2

      +Red Cuffs That figure is total sales as reported by Toyota, so yes, it almost certainly includes fleet deliveries. According to Honda (from a news release on their media site), the Accord has been "the most popular car in America with retail car buyers for three consecutive years." It's all in how you count, I suppose.

    This car is almost embarrassing when you compare it to others in the class as far as, interior quality and design, technology and a few others. The only reason Toyota sells so many of these is because it has a huge customer loyalty because of the reliability, so most Camry buyers just switch out their Camry's every few years without looking at the competition. I doubt there are many new Camry buyers out there, because every other car in this class is miles ahead of the Camry.

      +chancy319 Given the fuel efficiency requirements that automakers are facing, smaller engines are the future. Mazda seems to be committing its R&D resources to high-compression, normally-aspirated engine technology, where other makers are investing in turbochargers. The only Mazda offered with a 6 cylinder is the CX-9, and that is changing to a turbocharged four cylinder with the 2017 version.

    But over half a million people also think that Hillary would make a good president.
    So, no those numbers mean nothing to me. It's nearly at the bottom of the class in everything but reliability, with a chassis that dates back to the 2006 redesign and an interior that so cheap Hitler would think it's Jewish.

      Moaiz Shahzad The engine is fine, the interior and chassis is worth fixing for sure.

    The pros are that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle itself. The problem is how the world has changed. Everything on the road with wheels is 'ruthless' and 'aggressive'. This make and model is decidedly less so. You are going to be tested. People are gonna see you and try and dominate you. For example just sniping in front of you 'because they can' and 'you are in a Camry'. It's open season on you with huge lifted trucks and Dodge chargers creeping up behind you in the other lane in hopes of administering that metaphorical wedgie of suddenly cutting you off.
    Also, here in Cincinnati at least the highways are designed by Satan. As soon as you take the on ramp chances are you are going to be in an exit only lane with seconds to merge left. If the traffic is heavy and nobody takes mercy on you, you will be railroaded into taking that exit. ESPECIALLY if your vehicle takes a few seconds to get up to speed...

    Honda Accord to me is a better deal then the Camry, you get a better bang for your buck, on any Model for the accord you get better gas mileage & more horsepower, you actually get full leather on certain trims, double lcd screens, bigger aluminum rims, dual exhausts, & is cheaper then any level of the Camry. Accords are very reliable almost the same level of reliability as the Camry, also is better looking car over all then The Camry & even higher level of resale then any sedan available.
