Well, a Latin-American guitarist who became known playing neo-classical Euro-Metal explaining the Blues while being in Megadeth? Overkill!
Kiko is one of the most talented guitarists ever, not just in Megadeth. As humble as he is talented. Rare breed.
you could say the same about Gutherie Govan....
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️...
@@1972Georgesyeah yeah, big whoop.
You could say the same about Michael Romeo.
Yes...but, humble? No it all...
Kiko is rare. *Top-tier* musician *and* thoroughly decent bloke. What's not to love?! :)
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️..
Brazil precious 🤘♥️🤘
A lot of great musicians are also great people. Look at John Petrucci for example and many others. I think the key is that guys like Kiko are actually really passionate about what they do, as opposed to a lot of the most popular musicians who don't even write their own music.
He is, very smart, humble and in tune with problems around us.
This one interview taught me more about music theory than any book I've ever come across.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Agreed
Everything with Kiko is effortless. Otherworldly talent & a great guy.
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️...
Insane amount of practice makes everything he does look easy.
I'm starting to think that, besides tons of practice, there's something different with his hands that does this fluidity vibe... idk
@@Joao-py6rj it's just lot's of dedication
@@uroboric certainly the dedication is the biggest point, It's weird, but I think the anatomy of his hands contributes too. Or the fact that he is lefty
So happy someone mentioned Angra extensively when talking with Kiko
I purchased Angels Cry Day 1
Such a phenomenal band, and Kiko has always been one of my heroes ever since
RIP Andre Matos
Great interview wasn't it mate!!
@@davidyates8880 Yeah bro!
Old school Megadeth fan. Recently acquired an admiration for this cat. Super cool, humble, and a outright monstrosity of a player. Much love to Anderson's for putting him on!!!
This idea that each note contains its own major chord within its harmonics just blew my mind.
{Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️......
The harmonic series. It is like white light containing all the colours.
to me too... never thought of it in that way, but is sooo elementary...
🤯
I met Kiko back in 96 or 97 after a concert at Le Bataclan in Paris. He was only around 25 year old and already a monster guitarist as well a super nice guy. Not much of a Megadeth fan, but I'm happy he's getting some worldwide recognition. Even though I'd love seeing him back into Angra ;) He and Rafael Bittencourt were one of the best guitar duos in metal history.
my favorite thing in the world is when Lee gets the interviewee to give us an impromptu lesson. It's so freaking valuable.
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️.....
A KING IS IN THE HOUSE!!!
Absolutely stunning how he explained harmony. Simple and effective.
One of THE GREATESTS!!!!!!!
Two national treasures. Such a treat to see them talk shop.
To "talk shop" would require the Capt. to understand what was being said- and by his own admission, he's only getting about 1/4 of it- so I wouldn't say we watched them "talk shop"- instead we watched Capt. get a crash course in musical theory.
Is he Italien?
@@1972Georges Brazilian
@@stoneysdead689 On what basis do you claim that for this to qualify as "shop talk" Lee has to fully comprehend it lol this is clearly not just a conversation between two people and I'm sure man people watching got a lot of value from it. You're just a buzzkill.
Mostre seu talento pra eles tesouro! 🇧🇷
XD
kkkkkkkkkk
Ui Tesouro kkkk
Cuidado com a gentalha
I'm always impressed by Kikos' knowledge, musical culture, versatility. And he seems to be so humble. A GIANT
Easily the most versatile guitarist out there. The amount of knowledge he has and styles he can play (the only guitarist who might actually be able to "play anything" for real, as he is competent at Classical, actual Flamenco and Jazz, unlike other Rock/Metal guitarists) is unbelievable. You can claim that he's a beast at any genre. He actually is. Unbelievable. As expected from a guy who can easily hang with Guthrie Govan (there's a video of both jamming).
Angra stuff is insane. An amazing guitar work all those years.
{Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️......
Check Shaman also, it was from the same vocalist Andre Matos. Viper too.
I Love Kiko. He's just a monster of a player, his knowledge is tremendous, his style is unique, and he's super-humble and likeable. He's a tremendous addition to Megadeth and has really done a great job on the last two albums. So glad you had him in for a chat!
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️,. ...........
Kiko is not from this planet. The guy is incredible! Such a nice guy and amazing technique and feel!
Didn't know I was going to get a guitar lesson today. Thank you Captain, what a great interview. You couldn't ask for a nicer guy and so humble. Thanks again Captain.
Here's the thing.....having lived and loved in Brasil and visited for months at a time over the years, I wouldn't hesitate to say that if Kiko Loureiro found the time he would give private lessons. Most Brasileiros I ever met were just like this....outgoing, no sense of ego, and always willing to share their experience. If I had the $ I would go back there to live tomorrow.
"I need to play for a few minutes"....nothing better than that feeling of a hand full of blood and the feeling that you can play anything........The Warm Up.
saw him with angra around 10 years ago ... what a beast. it was in a really small french venue, but man did they rock. i should listen to it more
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️...
I am Brazilian and I never had the pleasure. Shame on me.
That beginner rig actually sounded really good, great middle bite.
Basically one of Andertons best videos hands down Kiko is a monster , Megadeths new album is so sick it’s unbelievable.
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️.....
I have watched your channel for awhile now, and Kiko is your best guest so far. He is such a friendly and humble person. His knowledge of music theory and out of this world talent is amazing. I have now subscribed to his guitar lessons. Thank you Andertons for another great show!!
Lee “Ya” I have no idea what you are talking about 😊
I was dumbfounded when I found out that Kiko lives in Finland and is married to a finnish woman for a good while. Nice to have a person like him here :) Kiko could be my gateway to enjoyable classical music. He's also just one of those guys who sounds SO well-rehearsed in his playing, like a classical concert musician would be. He doesn't come in and go a bit raw in a relaxed manner. He's sounds so planned, his emphasis on notes doesn't go overboard (until he does) yet isn't expressionless either. So calm and collected is what I'd describe it as.
He also did a lot of cool stuff on his youtube channel as well. It's just stupid fun how it started with who he is, how he got to guitar and his first band and suddenly it was a long lesson on how to think about guitar and make it musical. And it was honestly one of the best bits I've heard about guitar playing, like he gave very simple first steps, tools on how to expand the horizon and he made it understandable yet left it open for adventure. Funny and chill guy too. Just completely enamoured by music. And I bet this is one of the few interviews where he has been able to really get into nerding out and sharing his experience.
I also remember when I heard Kiko's version of Rust in Peace songs and it was like "this is not Marty Friedman, nor should he be, he sounded great". Like he understood what the mood and mentality was and ran with that as guideline. He fits very well, like he doesn't sound just like a gig job guy, he sounds like he's part of the band now.
Kiko is amazing, his technical ability is so impressive. One of my favorites and always inspires me to improve my playing.
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️.....
He never stopped taking lessons and he never stopped learning and going to guitar camps etc, first thing he asks guitarists he meets is "teach me this", never stop learning and one day you'll be even better.
Fantastic interview with such a gracious human, humble man, and "more than" proficient guitar player. Thank you
This is almost a lesson, as much as an interview! Kiko explained that better than anyone I've listened to... I'll be coming back to this vid for quite awhile! Kiko seems like such a nice guy, and has such a positive presence on UA-cam/social media. Great job with the interview, Lee!
"Is this how you got the Megadeth gig?" 🤣🤣🤣 What a great, informative and entertaining interview! Kiko Rocks! Many thanks!
Kiko just brings joy to the session here.
{Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️......
He is an encyclopedia....unbelievable how he explains things
I had the chance to attend a Kiko Loureiro’s guitar workshop in Botucatu, Brazil, back in 90’s. Took a picture with him. The guy is the same today. Amazing. Humble and a monster guitar player. Viva Kiko Loureiro!
Kiko is such an incredible player. One of the best ever. Love that QUEENSRYCHE was a big deal to him. They were the absolute best of the best, ever!!!
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️...
I remember the first time I listened to Operation Mindcrime from beginning to end. Best concept album ever. I miss that era of Queensryche.
Kiko is awesome! He’s a great ambassador for Megadeth as well. I enjoyed how Lee let him talk and didn’t interrupt him too much. I watched every second of this. He’s the coolest rock star I’ve ever seen. Well done guys!
Probably the best interview we've seen in this channel. 👏
One of the truly good guys in music today. I'm not a huge Megadeth fan, but how can you not cheer a guy like Kiko?!?
Show me a person that does not like this fella, Kiko, and also highly respect his playing….and I will show you a fool. Gosh, what a well learned musician and fun guy to talk to and hear discuss music. The music world needs more folks like Kiko.
To me, nobody looks as comfortable with a guitar in their hands as Kiko. Talking, playing, lounging, he always just looks comfortable.
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️..
Dimebag Darrell takes the crown for that. Dude would literally walk everywhere with his guitar just playing mind-bending solos (practicing) while casually chatting to someone.
@@darkriff777 Ya but Kiko tunes his guitars first.
Probably one of the most helpful interviews I’ve ever seen. Never expected to learn theory watching an interview, but he made it click! Keep doing what you guys do!
One of the greatest. Talent beyond measure and a great human.
one of the best episodes ever!
27:10 -"Gravity... is there", says the guy whoose first solo record is called NO Gravity.
it’s funny how lee mentioned angra like niche stuff while it was one of the first metal bands i’ve heard back when i was a kid and it was a revelation. So many memories, those first albums will always have a nice spot in my heart
Inspirational guy. Love hearing him talk about what's in his world.
Kiko is a true scholar of music. Love listening and learning from his knowledge.
ambassador of life in the form of guitar. Kiko many thanks
I can imagine the cameraman was drowling watching Kiko explains music theory and play it effortlessly.
19:03 Angra - Speed
20:07 Kiko Loureiro - Du Monde
Absolute powerhouse of a guitarist and general human being.
Love this guy! Hope he is with Megadeth until their last day.
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️...
Kiko is amazing with a vast knowledge in music in general.
I remember back in 2004-05 some friend handed me some albums in mp3s...and there it was: "Temple of Shadows". That was the first time i listened to this beast of a man. what a guy, i have followed his carrer since then, he's so humble and a great guy. And very smart too.
Found his youtube channel a few days back and if you'd not known it and hadn't seen him play, you wouldn't have guessed that he plays in one of the biggest, most legendary metal bands on the planet... Such a humble, genuine dude, love to see him here!
I could listen /watch Kiko play and talk about music all day
Kiko is the most amazing nerd of guitar!
This guy is a professional guitarist and an artist. Serious and has vast knowledge of his instrument and craft. Could tell he is a guitar teacher without even mentioning it. I call him Professor. On a lighter side, could you imagine Slash explaining guitar theory? Hahaha.
kiko is my absolute favourite guitarist, i just love his playstyle and the way he shows everyone what's behind the scene with his youtube channel. He even gives tutorial.
I love how important "Rebirth" is for Kiko, since it's one of the greatest power metal ballads ever!
I absolutely love Kiko, and I really appreciate the work Andertons and The Captain do. But I have to take my hat off to Lee on how he conducted this interview. This is absolutely a wonderful piece of work! You managed to let us see and experience the wonderful versatility of Kiko as a person in this interview, thank you for that. Fantastic work with a fantastic guest! :D
What a frickin hero he is! Dude!
I have been waiting for this interview for ages! Kiko is an insane player and a great teacher, I highly recommend his guitar academy! Well done Captain for another great interview.
This is a Masterclass
That was such a great and enjoyable episode. I laughed, I learned I was so thoroughly entertained. Kiko is an amazing human. Thank you Andertons.🙏
Kiko is a legend. Been following him since Angra. You are an inspiration dude, thank you. And Thanks Captain for being such a nice and cool interviewer!
first time seeing/hearing Kiko... not only a great guitarist but what a great down to earth guy,, bravo!
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️.....
What an amazing interview and lesson!! Thank you all and cheers from Portugal!
Props to Kiko, underrated in my opinion and have a great personality, at least from what I can tell from videos only so far sadly.
I love that the first album he bought for himself when young was Maidens "Powerslave" , that means that one of the first great solos he heard was from the end of the song "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" which is one of my many fav guitar solos
I can relate even though I am 14 years younger than Kiko, my first album that I got at my 7 year old birthday 1992 was Stranger In A Strange Land from Maiden which is one of my fav Maiden albums so one of my first guitar solos I still love to this day was from Stranger in a strange land, Caught Somewhere In Time, Wasted Years, Sea Of Madness and so on. Those 80s whammybar solos from Adrian Smith was and still are FIRE!
I remember seeing kiko with angra back in the '90s and i was blown away.. Amazing musician!
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️..
That cycle of 5ths and over tones lesson made so much sense. Wish I had a teacher like you kiko 20yrs ago! What a great interview
Brasil! I watch Andertoons to improve my Engish, and now you brought another guy that I also learn English with. Guitars and relationated things are my hob. Congratulations.
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️..
Kiko is a full grown monster of a player.
This is one the best episodes ever!
{Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️......
It's so awesome to see Kiko get the respect that's been due to him for this long. Sweet interview! I'd love to see Lee interview Jason Becker.
Kiko is one of the must humble, open, and knowledgable modern guitar players!
29:00 This is genius stuff. I've never seen anyone talked about this before. I also loved his cocky teacher vibe lol
Hell of a guitarist ! Nice theory lesson also.
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️
Wow, i had a blast watching this. You guys could have talked for 10h and i would watch the whole thing. Kiko is unbelievably good and humble. 🤟
{Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️......
My two favorite youtube channels together!!!, this is like the metaverse when all the spiderman got together, it blows your mind. Kiko is Amazing 👍👏🥳🎸🇨🇱
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️...
Kiko is always so open! great teacher
Kiko is one of my favorite guitarist that I encountered through Megadeth. Also his Guitar Academy is very legit.
How passionate is this guy about music and his instrument!!! Wow
My two favorite metal guitar players: Kiko and Michael Romeo.
They both burst onto the scene around the same time. I been a ANGRA fan since "Angels Cry".
Around the same time, Symphony X released "The Damnation Game".
Two of best 90's records !!!!
What a great guitar player and personality, knowledgeable, great sport, and generous with insights about playing guitar. Excellent interview.! Thanks
Hello let talk (I have something for you)⤴️⤴️⤴️,. ...........
Amazing Video!
Great session, good to get some learning weaved into these interviews
Kiko is like Albert Einstein of guitar world

Great interview guys! What more can one say! 👍🙂
Well done Captain, this interview is fantastic!!!
this conversation is gold, thank you for this
Awesome man!!!
Spectacular interview !
brilliant! thank you
Wonderful interview going through so many styles. Reminds us how much of a powerhouse he is while staying down to earth. I love his video with Guthrie Govan where he breaks a string.
Legend.
amazing interview, and that opening riff was big bonus ahah
Very good video. True classic.
