3:08 HOLY SH#T! You are actually driving around in a car with most of the major body structure rusted away and air showing through. That's lethal: I think a tach is the very least of your worries, my man. I see this vid is a few years old. Hopefully you got this fixed (a major body-off restoration job).
hey man if you decide to rewire her i recomend running the wires up on the ceiling when you get a headliner and interior you will never know they their n they will last longer as well n less likely to be ripped or warm apart
the location where you mounted yours won't work in standard beetles as the dash is flatter, and the windshield is close. as i had to mount mine to the inside rear view mirror base if in that position will interfere with the vent windows but its ok on yours as the 73-75 super beetle sedans and convertable to 1980 have the curved windshield and lot of room. on my 68 bug had to mount it to the inside rearview mirror base had to run the wires through the pillar with the dome light wires. as i used a summit racing digital tach and shift light combo.

Vw coil goes to fuse box why not wire in there.?much shorter distance...power to light switch KISS
you gotta connect it to the negative terminal which goes to the distributor

You can use some red tape at the end of the black tape to ensure you always know which one is pos or neg if you ever have to disconnect the wire.

Looks good in that corner
Sick. One love from Jamaica. I'm going to put 1 in my beetle soon
I feel you on the back seats but im just too lazy to put them in
I got to admit I watched this video so I could find out what RPM a bug revs to.
Same I got a Vintage VDO Tach off a Ebay for my Bug It goes to 4 and a half Its only stock motor so should be OK
Cool I am thinking of putting one in my splitty.
Don't send the + back to the battery it will be permanently live. Must go to a switched source like direct to ignition switch or fuse box.
very nice man, i wanna put in my bug too lol
You should! Definitely a nice ad
sick dude!👌
Thanks mate!
fiberglass I did to mines 22 dollar fix
To fix that hole you will have to weld in new heater channels.
Awesome! Thanks for the comment, I wasn't sure what that part was called
+The Shop Life Yeah I'm doing mine in the next couple of weeks, its sadly its kinda a big job.(you have to lift the body) Rust sucks hard!
