I got real sick of my open pipe setup real quick. As did my neighbors. I fabbed a side-tuck glasspack setup with stainless dual tips and it sounds rowdy not won't turn you deaf after 2 minutes of driving.

You didn't show the vent on the back of the alternator tin. Let people know that it points down. The alternator you fitted needs an external regulator with those three pins on top.

First thing if alternator isn’t charging is to check the warning light on the dash. If that isn’t working the alternator won’t charge.

For others watching, as another comment noted to go along with this video, if you want to keep the faceplate intact, remove the 4 tiny phillips screws on the top and bottom edge of the faceplate first before prying the front off - gently pry the left and right side with a flat screw driver outwards and it will pop right out

2003 VW Golf 1.9 L TDI Radio Removal Keys Not Working - Can confirm this method works for 2003 VW Golf where none of the unlock keys were working Previous Owner may have bent the clips in the wrong direction causing the keys to simply push them out further the wrong way. I removed all of the knobs from the radio. I used black electrical tape on a flat head strong screwdriver. I used a second screwdriver for leverage on first the top it started to pop off from there I used my hands to pull straight off away from the radio face plate- as there are plugs along the bottom that go into the face plate for the knobs. Indeed the release pins were so far bent out the wrong direction that I needed help to use 2 needle nose pliers on the top two release pins and then I used the clips I had bought to keep them from going back into the harness and again needed help to use 2 needle nose pliers on the bottom two release pins and the radio slid out like butter. I thought for sure I was going to need to tear apart the dash to put in a new radio as the stock one was not working anymore (possible back of radio fuse). Since I was replacing this radio I never checked if it was the fuse or not. This is by far the best method I have seen and deserves more views/Likes. I spent 2 days trying to get the clips I bought from ebay to work. They would simply slide in and slide back out without gripping or locking into place. It is sad that this video does not show the actual method of where to place the screw driver. Simply put remove the cup holder harness and you will place the flat head screwdriver between the black plastic frame of the radio and pry along its edge until it pops off towards you away from the radio.. as I said I used another screwdriver for leverage on the top and taped the screwdriver I used to pry the face off with black electrical tape so I did not damage the dash material or scratch up the original radio since I intend to sell it on eBay as possibly working.

The video was ok got the same alternator setup but little detail about getting the carby n dizzy out of the way than getting the two bolts at the bottom would be great but in all its was very helpful ps in future just some photos of the wires so you dont get lost with the orange wire
