That wasn't a flash step it was a sonido. Ichigo subconsciously uses it when he's enraged. Find the sound he makes when using a flash step and check the sound he makes when using a sonido 😉.

As Aizen said in Arrancar arc, "Kurosaki Ichigo, you are both a Shinigami and a..".
I love how they showed that ichigo taps into his hollow powers when he's mad, his reatsu turned from yellow (shiningami) to red (hollow) and even mixed in with his awaken quincy powers (blue), turning his aura purple at times
And also his Fullbring reatsu is color Green 💚
Red was just visuals it’s not hollow power at all

Fun fact, if you go back and re-watch episodes 3 & 4 of the OG anime, when Rukia finds out Ichigo's mom is dead and Ichigo is having the flashbacks while laying in bed... The bed sheets he's laying on while thinking of his mom has a Quincy cross of them.
People said this was a "assess pull" nah, Kubo literally planned this twist since chapter 7 of the manga.

Fun Fact: Yamamoto is the cover character of the Volume "the Burnout Inferno" so he gets the poem at the start and it reads "Dont Live Bowing Down, Die Standing Up". The title of the Manga chapter where he dies is called "Die Standing" and he in fact does becuase he's a badass.
I love how so many people thought SS had this in the bag only for the Sternritter to shoot more holes into that thought then Shunsui.

So here's the thing for everyone confused. Ichigo indeed is a Quincy. His Quincy powers just like his Soul Reaper powers couldn't be used or awakened until it is kick started by that type of Reishi.
For his Soul Reaper powers Rukia awakened it with her Reishi blade which was only supposed to let him borrow her Reiatsu he consumed all her Reiatsu which awakened his Soul Reaper powers.
When locked in Quilge's caged he continuously attacked it with Getsuga's that chipped at the cage bit by bit releasing small amounts of Quilge's own Reishi which mixed with Ichigo's and awakened his un-tapped Quincy powers. Everything in Bleach is revolved around coming in contact with certain Reishi which could either kill you or give you powers(Fullbringers=Hollow Reiatsu, Soul Reapers=Death reincarnation, Quincy=Bloodline).
So it isn't that he can't use them he just can't use them on command as if you look back through the series you notice he used a couple of quincy abilities. One very huge example is when Rukia give him power, a normal Soul Reaper or Soul would only take in some Reiatsu but a Quincy consumes Reiatsu just to power themselves they straight up absorb reiatsu from the things around them and that is basically what happens when he gets powers for the first time.
@@ricremricrem2221 I seen something like this said before and it's not a bad theory. But absorbing Reishi and wielding it like a Quincy are two separate things. But he could've indeed absorbed it all as that's a Quincy characteristic so I claim this take... Valid lol.

It's a shunpo for Soul Reapers, or sonido for Arrancars, a quick jump in speed for travel, basically Bleach's instant transmission
Edit: I realize now it was specifically a sonido since the sound vanished and I think that's so cool

So much crazy shit happened this episode but - god damn Aizen is a menace. He can use Kyoka Suigetsu WHILE sealed & without his Zanpakuto visibly activating. What a monster.

Ichigo’s spiritual pressure disappeared cause he used sonido he dont use shunpo anymore since he fusionned his hollow and shinigami power during fullbringer arc, that’s why he dont used his hollow mask neither

Ichigo is a quincy confirmed, but just think about it, how crazy kubo give a lot of foreshadow about it and put it in a secret and make it looks like it was nothing, just think about this question : "how ichigo took all rukia's power when she want give him just half of her power" , "how ichigo learn the ribbon thing from ishida, we know exactly who is ishida" , and i wonder the reason ichigo's getsuga tenshou color is blue in shikai because it is part of foreshadow, and don't forget about aizen said to ichigo that he is human and....?.
All true except the getsuga part, his getsuga has always been yellow in shikai, the anime changed it to be like the kamehameha/rasengan because the MC must have blue powers.

The animation studio know what they're doing, just like a professional interior decorator or architect will be better than you at designing stuff. This is why you have editors behind mangaka and writers, visual designers behind directors etc.
Most of the times, the color that we judge and accept as canon aren't actually canon but we find them sound and perfectly fitting because they've been picked by people who know what they're doing. For a number of aesthetic or practical reasons, being neutral, less seizure inducing and pleasing to the eyes etc.. these are very important and fascinating details that you'll learn in graphical design based professions.
So unless an author directly state the colors or any other specific visual aspect of his creation everything that is adapted from it is simply that, an adaptation and therefore aren't canon. That's just how it work, it's pragmatic. Sometimes an author vision isn't great, and in retrospective we learn, and understand that it wouldn't be as good if the editor staff hadn't intervened and suggested something better. That happen a lot in the entertainment industry.
One time Kishimoto colored a illustration and made the Rasengan yellow because he thought it looked cool like that and people begun to think that the official color of Chakra was universally yellow. In fact based on Kishimoto's vision, everyone as a different Chakra color, the fandom don't accept that in favor of the studio adaptation universal Blue Chakra because it is more streamlined. We also have the Kame-Senryû School's Gi that stay Red for an unreasonable amount of time but we all know it to be officially Orange.
As a manga reader after the panel where Ywaach gassed up the OG G13 man i've always wanted to get info on them, so happy we at least got that opening vignette 😭

So interesting point, the arrancar sonido erases the users spirt pressure. Since ichigo has his soul reaper and hollow form fused(thanks to fullbring training) its possible hes using the power without even realising it just like he does with bult vene.
Unohana is NOT a spoiler. She was told to us back in the 'Turn Back The Pendulum ' arc that she was one of the Original 13.
