He is part of the 5 noble clans (together with Shihoin whose leader currently is Yoruichi, Kuchiki whose leader is Byakuya and Shiba whose de facto leader is Kukaku coz Isshin left). They ARE involved in what happened back then but I won't say what they did as that is HEAVY spoiler territory. 3. 7:14 from what it seems Ichibei traded Yhwach's eyes for the Left Hand of the Soul King. For your question about the Soul King's body parts, they all ended up in different places after what had happened to him. Based on the flashback here, we at least have confirmation that Ichibe is/was in possession of one of the Soul King's arms, but the rest will be revealed later. There's a lot more the flashback tells us as well, but a lot of it is stuff most new TYBW viewers won't understand until maybe the next cour or so.
Here to let you know that Uryu Ishida is the reason how Ywhach escape the cage that they're in , he uses his schrift. Plus the thing that Ywhach throw isn't a medallion it's a button on Uryus robe .

This episode put all worries I had about Bleach to rest. I was originally concerned about the pacing, it felt like a lot of the important bits were flying by too quickly. Then I learned of Kubo's plans for Cours 3 and 4. At least half of the material in those upcoming Cours will be anime exclusive, so even those of us who have already finished the manga can look forward to experiencing this part of Bleach for the first time ever. It raised another concern for me with how they would handle this new material and tie it into the manga in a way that makes sense... And this episode pretty much showcased that I have absolutely nothing to worry about. For those of you who haven't read the manga: The entire opening flashback sequence between Ywach and Ichibei is anime only. The manga readers had no idea how Ywach had lost his Schrift. Manga readers were also unaware that the Quincy Civil War also spanned all the way back to this time period. The fight sequence between the Royal Guard and Schutzstaffel was also rearranged some and a Ywach never escaped the cage in any manner as was shown in this episode. His escape of the cage is actually forshadowing of Uryu's Schrift and I think it was an excellent addition so it doesn't just feel like his hax pop out of nowhere in the upcoming episodes. I'm totally on board with the next 2 Cours being made up of mostly anime exclusive content now. Also at 5:34 the Shinigami you're referring to is probably Tokinada

This episode put all worries I had about Bleach to rest. I was originally concerned about the pacing, it felt like a lot of the important bits were flying by too quickly. Then I learned of Kubo's plans for Cours 3 and 4. At least half of the material in those upcoming Cours will be anime exclusive, so even those of us who have already finished the manga can look forward to experiencing this part of Bleach for the first time ever. It raised another concern for me with how they would handle this new material and tie it into the manga in a way that makes sense... And this episode pretty much showcased that I have absolutely nothing to worry about.
For those of you who haven't read the manga: The entire opening flashback sequence between Ywach and Ichibei is anime only. The manga readers had no idea how Ywach had lost his Schrift. Manga readers were also unaware that the Quincy Civil War also spanned all the way back to this time period. The fight sequence between the Royal Guard and Schutzstaffel was also rearranged some and a Ywach never escaped the cage in any manner as was shown in this episode. His escape of the cage is actually forshadowing of Uryu's Schrift and I think it was an excellent addition so it doesn't just feel like his hax pop out of nowhere in the upcoming episodes. I'm totally on board with the next 2 Cours being made up of mostly anime exclusive content now.
