      I miss the good old CF-104 and the CF-18! Is it possible to send back some jets to Germany? In earlier days before 1993 i saw more canadian jets at one day than military jet's the whole year nowadays (2018-2020 not a single military jet!). The german sky are not silent, it is dead in these for aviation enthusiasts sad times! ☹️

      There is a difficult political debate on the Tornado sucessor as some german parties want to get rid of the nuclear bombing role, that the Tornado has and the Super Hornet is supposed to take over. Because of that there is a bit of a blockade on the replacement project.

    • @waschberserker
      @waschberserker 3 роки тому

      @jimminy cricket Well, you cannot talk about the western front in World War I. Aerial refueling was first accomplished successfully in the 1920s. You cannot be talking about the western front in World War II either. Because aerial refueling was not done in World War II, although it was technically possible. That's why allied bombers had to fly without fighter escorts for part of the way, when they flew deep into German territory. That was the case until the allies landed in France and Italy and were able to use airfields there. So what ARE you talking about?

    • @waschberserker
      @waschberserker 3 роки тому

      @jimminy cricket That's the Pacific Theatre in my books :-) But the 141st Air Refueling Squadron was the 141st Tactical FIGHTER squadron in World War II. It became the 141st Air Refueling Squadron in 1991. So there was no aerial refueling going on on THAT western front as well...

    • @waschberserker
      @waschberserker 3 роки тому

      @jimminy cricket It was. But as I said, it was a fighter squadron back then, flying P-47s and P-51s. It became an air refueling squadron in 1991.
