    I know it is an old vid but, this by far is the best beginners' guide out there. I've spent hours on google searching for "how to skip rope for beginners" and the top result is some guy teaching how to jump rope like a boxer. This. THIS should be the top result. I am thankful for this tutorial. Keep it up!

    Great instruction. I was a jump rope fiend as a kid and looking for alternate cardio. As a kid my favorite rope was a hunk of clothes line rope that my dad tied a few knots for handles. Since I was used to that type of rope, what do you suggest and how long do you suggest beginners jump for to reduce sore knees and shins

    Love the videos most dedicated jump rope channel I can depend on.
    So I just recovered from shin splints and have a question about the hop. Do you bend the knees slightly when you hop? Also, how would you lower impact when hopping? I jump on balls of my feet but sometimes I jump too high for no reason I guess it's just reflexes or something but I would land a little harder. It doesn't hurt but I think it may lead to injuries

    guys i'm 48 (just) and really need to lose some weight (quite a bit). So far this is the first skipping tutorial which actually tries to show you how to actually get to grips with skipping. My question is.....realistically, how long each day should i spend at these exercises and then how many days should i expect to take before i get the hang of actually skipping ? i know it's a 'piece of string' question, but any encouragement/advice would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks in advance for any help!!

    • @PunkRopeNYC
      @PunkRopeNYC  3 роки тому

      Great question! Go slowly although by now you’re probably a pro. Increase your skipping volume by no more than 10% each week.

    a really awesome clip. I can only connect with some commentators, I've seen a lot of clips on the web and for many people jumping rope seems to be self-evident, not for me, I need really good training, and that's shown here, you know what that People really want to know and need, thank you very much! What I would like to know, in exercise two, the rope twists, how can I prevent it? And in exercise three, I still do not get the momentum with my arms down, how can I improve that?
