You are the best man! I found you a few weeks ago when we had no heat on our boiler. You helped me trace the problem and fix it. The weird part now is, I keep watching your videos?
Eso es lo que necesito hacer mi casa esta fría vienen solo sacan el aire llenan agua y calienta unos días luego lomismo lo haré yo mismo gracias por tu consejo
not sure but seems like auto feeder is busted, I think...? I my case didn't feed at all so for the rest of this heating season, I decided to check water level at least 2X a week nd do refill manually.
Soooo, you seem like one of the more knowledgeable people online with steam boilers buuuut I gotta comment on the chit chat between... No time for that. I'm trying to get my boiler running efficiently. Life moves fast and most people need to move into the next thing ASAP. Thanks
Just had the oil co do a svc in my boiler yesterday, Now suddenly my 2 2d floor radiators are gurgling, and the water level in the glass tube is filled full, It never did that before it always sat less than an inch above the marker line. Dont know what this means or what to do
Backflow prevention bewilders me. Sprinkler systems have them too and there are certified "testers" for them. If outside water pressure is lost, how is your 12 PSI boiler or zero pressure irrigation water going to run backwards? Sounds like government regulated over-kill.
easiest way to think about it, house on top a hill and house on the bottom, is equal to single pipe ran vertical, with closed valve at the top and its full of water, you open that valve and what happens? the water goes down and pulls air in the top, if air cannot go in the top it will pull backwards(under vacuum) whatever it's connected to. just low pressure and/or fire department drawing lots of water at a lower elevation can starve anything at a higher elevation, even worse in high rise building. a high rise may have their own booster pumps
I’m going to agree with you on the near boiler piping should be both tappings but shouldn’t it also have a larger drop header? Shouldn’t that drop header be 4 inch or larger to slow the velocity of the water down and give the steam a chance to dry before entering the mains? And about the vent on the main ends shouldn’t that be about a foot or more away from the end so if there’s any water hammer the vent won’t get destroyed when the water slams into the elbow at the end of the main ?
For those of us who watch, but have no relationship to this industry, topics on terms such as dry steam, TT etc could take a whole video..... in giant recliner ( Louis Rossman format ). OK, I just wanna see Mikey dealing with a cantankerous cat!
Hey I’m sorry to bother you but I have a question. My boiler was running fine until last night when it cut on and started banging in every radiator. I went down stairs and noticed the water was high in the site glass so I poured not even a bucket full of water out, but when I turned the water drain off the boiler started steaming and water was all over the floor. The radiators got very hot. The steam was so thick I couldn’t see where the water was coming from. I have a burnham about 11 years old. The water was coming from the opposite side that the glass site glass is. Any ideas of what might be wrong and can I fix myself. I’m pretty handy.
Hey I'm just wondering now that Peter is starting to know his thing do you give a prize when he gets it right the first time just wondering if I was in your boat I would the smarter they are the less they cost you in the long run LOL :-) :-)
18:35 My OCD is yelling take that 4" pipe out of there and correct all the near boiler piping, and get another riser. That I assume would help save some money on bills as well to get the full use out of that boiler. After seeing how the glass pipe boiler works, just thinking on how this isn't going to work anywhere near that clean on this install. 🤠🦺
The politics should stay out of your video. Many people come to UA-cam for their specific interest and get away from the politics. Great content though.
@@bjg6695 It is a plumbing channel. The aim of the channel is to showcase his top notch work. I can care less about politics and many viewers are in this position as well. Mike said it himself, he got rid of the LGB imitation shirts showcasing Bosch and got new uniforms. This was a professional move on his part. It is how you grow your business and, on UA-cam, your channel. You want to avoid conflict and decisiveness which is what is pushed in our world today sadly.
You'll have more viewers if you leave out political comments that likely 60+% of the US find don't belong in a plumbing and HVAC UA-cam channel, whether they agree with you or not.

What boiler water additive do you recommend? What do you do when you drain water out every month, add more additive?

Ridiculous speed!!!!
Great information about the boiler despite the overt racism, misogyny and childish, ignorant, unnecessary behavior.
I was so hoping you were gonna say eff it, drop header and new equalizer line…. BAM!
Bro 67k subs. Nice dude! I’ll send some swag with that pump tomorrow

Can back siphon upon loss of street pressure or broken supply lines if conditions are right sucking contaminated water out into the supply lines.

Why did boiler overfill ?
Cut the pipe under feed and auto feeder to see if it’s bypassing , ball valves and auto feeds can fail look forward to when you go back in a few days
