Hi Chris, my local river has the water up and fast as they have opened the tap at the dam but even so rising fish are scarce now in spite of wonderful abundance of fly life, mostly small 6in grayling coming up in an evening in a few odd places. I missed about 10 yesterday evening but now think that my size 16 is too big, nice to see you catching and thanks for another good video. Mike
Nice session there Chris, not a bad average size on that stream. I find I struggle usually on those flat pools, I end up looking for a bit of lively water where I can get away with it, presentation wise 🤣 nice time of day to be out, I'll be setting my alarm early or staying into the dark once we get lower temperatures ( and rain????)
Yeah, I've been mulling over getting up early to fish recently, as our water is so low, and it's 200m from work! Just need to drag myself out of bed. 🙂
my local river looks just like that, so I'm not going to fish it for at least a month I reckon. Thankfully, the estuary is producing otherwise I might go mad.
I fly fish in Southern Ontario in Canada and I generally find here that fish don’t wake up to eat until about 10:00 AM. and the morning feed is often great until around noon. Where in the UK is the river Yeo?
Hi there, this Yeo is in Devon in the South West of England ( there are lots of streams called Yeo I think it means little river). Our taking times vary throughout the year, early season definitely 10 -2 pm is best but come the summer it switches to early morning/late evening.
I really enjoy this videos of english rivers. All the best from Argentina.
Then you'll enjoy this video too

Early morning is my absolute fav. time of day Chris. Well worth getting out of bed for. 😊
I need to get up early more often Fred, it was a lovely time to be on the river.

I find the same on the Moor Mike, often a small klink size 20 with a nice bright post is my solution when I'm struggling to hook the little blighters.

Cheers David, still no fishing for me for obvious reasons, we had a tiny bit of rain here today but we need a deluge to make any real impact.

I struggled Greg😀 but it was worth it when I got there, just!
@@chrismatthewsflyfishing7724 In saying that, if I can get up for work, then I'm sure I can make it for trout! 🤣

Yeah, not looking promising this week, could be my last trip for a bit. Everywhere I normally watch on UA-cam seems desperate for some rain.
