I have followed Simon for years. He explains things so simply and clearly that he takes the mystery out of fly fishing. Good to see him again on the NFF.

Been Nymphing for years and never got into Dry fish fishing till this year. Nothing better than watching fish come up and eat your fly.

I've only been fly fishing a few years, so I'm still learning. I have not seen the technique of placing the smaller dry as a dropper ahead of the larger fly. I've been placing my smaller fly behind the larger fly in line. I always enjoy seeing new-to-me techniques. Thank you!

As a salmon and steelhead fisherman I want to get into trout fishing. I have all the gear already but I don't know what it takes to get trout. So this is a great video for me. Thanks for the information.

Excellent video Simon 🎣🎣. Please don't diss me 😥, as I carry a small micro spinning reel with me. As come across situations where NO possible back cast. So i swap out to , the spinning reel. With a 3 gr bubble float for casting weight & 5ft leader.

good introduction to dry fly fishing, but unfortunately misses a major question folk have when they start, ie how to attach the leader to the fly line & the fly to the leader......there are particular knots you need to know.

Hi Simon you did not mention if you add floatant to your leader/tippet or if you add mud to sink it etc. Thanks look forward to your response.

Very awesome video and so glad I came across your videos. I have a question? When tying tandem flys ( 2 of them ) I noticed the small one was tied first and the bottom fly was the bigger one. Is there a reason for this or big on top small on bottom is just as good as small on top big on bottom?? Also are you tying the 2nd fly on the bend of the hook of the first fly? Thank you for any information and I really enjoy your videos!!

Do you ever let the fly touch the water on a false cast?
