It is great you are sharing your knowledge with everyone. The man, the myth, the legend, Myron.
So blessed to be doing what I love.
My pleasure
I got some checking to do sir. Thank you for all the knowledge
Very helpful info, thank U!. I have 3 JLX G16Bs. I like these old Vits.
Excellent information Myron ! That’s a lot of help on the 16valve and the inherent problems they have .
Glad to help
Thanks for the information.
You bet!
Thanks Myron!
Still have my 88.5 square vent Zuk. Several years ago I opted to put a 1994 1.6 16v in my Samurai. I already did the radiator and Temp gauge upgrade. I once tried an electric fan but it only worked well offroad and not well onroad in the summer and the bigger aluminum radiator was the fix. I really appreciate what to ck for on the fuel pressure regulator. All your videos and parts upgrades are superb!!

They are popular engines but must be watched carefully. Check radiator level by removing cap not looking at the overflow bottle and once a week pull vac line on Pressure Regulator to make sure it isn’t leaking fuel into the plenum.
Thank you Myron for these great videos!
My pleasure
You did my 16-valve swap harness for me about 10 years ago when I was just getting into Samurais. I wanted to keep the AC and power steering. You gave me a lot of good advice over the phone. I still have the samurai and drive it a good bit. It has been pretty much trouble free and very reliable.
As always good info Myron.
Thanks keep the videos coming.
Ive been out of the Sammy world for 10 years. So i assumed i missed what the samurai world had to offer.
But i was wrong.
All these videos and all your innovative products are awesome.
We missed you bro! Welcome back.
Myron, thanks for all thd great information!
Always my pleasure to help Suzuki enthusiasts
Thank you keep up the great content
Thanks, will do!
Diggin the hat MY! Thanks for sharing this information
Mom made it. She also makes the twin stick boots.
Thank you Sir
Most welcome
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I want to buy one.
Very good info
Great information! Thank you!
Always MY pleasure
@@Zuksoffroad I have your twin stick shifter in my Sammy. One of my favorite mods
I am really enjoying doing this for the cult!
Your awesome thank you
You are so welcome
Damn good info here 💯
That's more great info on the 16V engine. I will give you a call on some concerns.
Please do!

What is the ISC between the throttle body? When I googled it all I found is a page that said the iac and isc have been called the same thing over the years. Currently it’s idling rough. Runs okay most the time. Will have times where it sounds like it wants to do something but the gas pedal is unresponsive. While driving you can feel the motor jerking. Removing foot off gas and putting it back on seemed to work. TPS seemed to read the correct resistances. IAC opens as it should. A little bit of air will pass through if you blow into it hard with mouth. My diagnostic doesn’t want to give me a code. 95 Suzuki sidekick with a 1.6 16v. It’s the Canadian built variant
Hello from Poland
Hello Suzuki Owner!
Great info thank you for sharing. After replacing the Throttle position sensor on my 1996 tracker, it idles perfectly/overall runs much better. But it started doing the 25 mph shifting surge. Any idea whats causing the surge/can you tell me more info about it?
Suggest my cell for this specific tech support. I would mention here that TPS on an obd2 is main issue with low speed surge.
Second is gasket leak behind throttle body. Which is a perfect time to disassemble and clean out all the white powder in ISC part of the TBI so water can flow through correctly
Hello from Europe!
Hello Europe, my fellow Suzuki friends
Hooked on your videos, thank you for all the info. How do you feel about the 1.6 8 valve? Just bought my first Zuk with the swap already done.
Had many 1.6 8v it’s 20 more hp minimum. Durable engine can be efi or carbed what do you have?
I think you just commented on my post about timing on fb group.. thanks alot if that was you!!
Hate FB I have two ids Myron Thorson or ZuksOffRoad
Thanks for the great info. Have you had any experience with the 1.3 16v Swift GTI engine/head? I don't know if that car even came to the States (I'm from Europe) would be great to hear some information on that swap since it doesn't need an adapter to match the stock 1.3 gearbox
They are around the USA. Matt here at ZOR took mine from storage. Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/cwhU4H4JheQ/v-deo.htmlsi=e8BKIhPJUBE1zxkK
I cooked my 16v. Had to replace the bearings, refurbish the crank and replace the head. I DO NOT want to do that again! So, I’m definitely going to remove the AC shutoff sensor. You recommend replacing it with a needle temperature gauge. Do you have a recommendation on that?
O’riely’s has a complete water temp sensor with a special fitting. It is 1/4 NPT and it steps up to except the probe parts.
Is there any updates or mods available for MY-FI? I was an early adopter, im pretty happy with it but it seems like the power fluctuates with temp and altitude alot. Also the higher rpms seem to lack power. Im looking to resurect my samurai as its been parked for several years and I am just looking at options for almost everything right now.
Thanks My.
Not going to go back to a VW Bosch system again. It was nearly impossible to find parts for that product 15 years ago. VW turboed that system quite easily. Did you get the micro switch on the butterfly cam for the 5th injector?
@@Zuksoffroad I do have the microswitch. I salvaged it on your recommendation. I used it off and on. It just didn't seem to add power 100% of the time so I would alternate between the microswitch, and the dash mounted button.
@@deadbrother5355 VW/Audi boosted right into the dash pot from the KO3. A log, a turbo, oiling in and out, charge tube, some silicone fittings, t-clamps, wide band, O2 sensor would add 50-60 horse power.
What you think about sniper efi 2 barrel on a 1.3?
Customers that have tired expressed it isn’t built for a 4 cylinder and runs rich
Is there a way to tell if a engine has been previously everheated without opening it up.
16v IF the spark plug boots are melted in the valve cover.
8v and 16v if you put compressed air into a cylinder thru the compression gauge attachment remove the radiator cap and put compressed air in and the radiator acts like a geyser.
If oil is present in the coolant or the oil is milky. If the oil smells burnt.

Which of the two (G16B 16v or G16A 8v) do u prefer? Thanks
I have had about the same number 16v to 8v. I prefer the durability of an 8v with a 16v crank. I have had efi or a Harley carb MY-Side but looking forward to a 1.6 boosted propane 8v for my next personal build.
My 16v got up to 230 due to the fan clutch. Can you spot a crack with the crank still in?
It won’t crack at 230. Cylinder wall crack is not visible with crank in
Hello from uk
Hey UK have Jimny Bits get ahold of me. Thank you for the shout out from Suzuki People!
@@Zuksoffroad thank you
How much of this applies to an 8valve? all of it?
The pressure regulator YES check often for fuel leaking into engine.
The need for an analog water temp gauge NO. The 8v runs thicker head castings and can be overheated slightly. A 16v can not be overheated once.
You said you don't like 16 valves anymore. What do you prefer now? 1.3 8v with your turbo?
107-110 hp on 16v compared to 127 hp w/1.3 turbo. 147 hp with 1.6 8v turbo. I am getting away from Suzuki engines due to unavailability of high quality parts.
Your getting away from suzuki engines! What engine do you recommend?
@@colindingle2249 for now just referring 1.6 engines to a sister shop in Florida. Later when I have sold Zuksoffroad and get time to invent it will be HondaK there are 1,000 places to buy Honda parts for engines. I am only building engines for hard luck cases because it is taking me forever to get Japan or high quality engine components.

thank u there for the info hope i can finger my 1995 geo tracker out it been die for a year now sad face
My New 1.6 16v ..Crate engine is a 1997 block remanufactured in Mexicoo it has been running very Rich from first start up.. smokes bad black smoke.. Hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars later Now it is still Very rich , only gets 15mpg and terrible bad idle..
Tryd about everything..
Might it be the incorrect Camshaft ? I read there are 3 different Camshaft..how do I know if it is correct?
I been working with you via text. Who told you that 16v have different cam shafts? They don’t. They have confusing cam sprockets that get put in wrong quite often. Two pin slots in the center makes for you having to understand when the rocker is in play or not. Always use E dot and E notch on SOHC 1.6 16v thru all 7 years (92-99)
@Zuksoffroad hi from Australia, to clarify can the cam sprocket be put on in 2 positions ie 180deg out?
