Judy Garland Museum Wants Solen Ruby Slippers

After the Ruby Slippers were discovered and will now be sold at auction this December, will the Judy Garland Museum be the highest bidder and have the Ruby Slippers as a permanent part of their museum?

According to the Judy Garland Museum they wanted to keep the Slippers in a safe every night to prevent theft. The owner did not want them touched however so the safe was not used. Perhaps if the museum owns them they can keep them in a safe at night to prevent theft from happening again.

I think they belong in a museum because a lot more people will get an opportunity to see them there than in a private collection. Since the Judy Garland Museum has already been robbed once, they would probably be much more careful than they were before but they can't be the only option. 🤔They probably don't have the required cash but Baum was living in Chicago when he wrote TWWoO so how about Chicago's new American Writers Museum?

I agree that they should be in a museum and not in a private collection. The story of this particular pair has definitely become the thing of legend. I can't imagine a museum _not_ wanting this pair of slippers.

I think the Smithsonian should purchase them and re-mate them with their correct pairing. Then they could have an extended lifespan by switching them out over the next 100 years.
