Hey y'all! Happy Sunday! We absolutely LOVED our visit to the Llano River Chuck Wagon Cookoff! This event is put on by the Llano Chamber of Commerce. For information on future dates and event pricing, visit the event website: www.llanochuckwagoncookoff.com/ . We look forward to going to more chuckwagon cook offs in the future. Have you been to one before? We'd love to hear your suggestions for cook-offs to visit. Leave us a comment! And for our tips on visiting this event in the future, visit our website: rvtexasyall.com/region-texas-hill-country/events/llano-river-chuckwagon-cookoff .
Probably 50 years ago my dad, uncle and myself would ride up to Houston from Corpus Christi, from the old Bar H rodeo stock ranch to the cook-off. Every year we had a blast. I was always charged with cooking a campfire peach cobbler, my grannies recipe, and my dad and uncle cooked the meat, beans, and tators. Lots of fun memories. Thanks for taking me back to those days.
This brings back memories of the trail rides here in Texas. They come from all over the state and ride in on a trail ride to the Houston rodeo and BBQ cook off. I'd spend a week on one of those trail rides. And yes we actually rode horses the whole way. There's something really cool about sleeping around the campfire and being woken up before sunrise to the sound of the cattle call. And watching cookie the cook cook dozens of eggs and bacon on his 3 foot diameter cast iron skillets placed over some coals. It was truly a magical experience for a 14 year old kid.
That is really cool. Being from Houston the Livestock Show & Rodeo was a big part of our lives and seeing the trail riders riding into town was always awesome to see!
Just watching this makes me hungry. This is a great way to fix something without heating up your house during the summer heat. Please be careful out there. There is a prisioner on the loose in Leon County but can be anywhere. A weekend of killings in Harris County. For growing up in Houston all of what is going on just breaks my heart. Watching this at least gave me some enjoyment. Thanks and Love y'all.
Hi Guys! Heading to Texas for two months starting the first of October. So impressed with your videos! Love how down to earth and positive you both are. Those apple pies looked sooooo good! Thanks for sharing! Chris, Katrina and Traveling Tucker
Oh my gosh! This looks amazing and now I’m so hungry! This was such a great episode and it’s an event that is going to the top of my list of things to do. Thank you for taking us along with you.
While I really loved my time on a BBQ cook off team this looks like even more fun!! We still do a lot of BBQing and we cook on and in our cast iron but that sure looks like a good time.
Just ran across y'alls channel. Loved the video on Llano chuck wagon cook off. Loved your video. Looked at your playlist of videos, had to subscribe. I'll spend a bit of time catchin up on playlist. Welcome to Texas. You came from Vegas so summer here won't be that bad for ya. God bless you and your family and have a blessed day.
Enjoyed watching this video, was just in llano a couple weeks ago nice little place. Will definitely be looking for this cook off looks like some great food. Thank You for sharing and safe travels 👍🏻❤️🙏🏻
I love Hill Country, I'm there a lot for work purposes. Word to the wise...GET YOUR BRAKES CHECKED before visiting Central Texas!😂😂 Roads are similar to rollercoaster up's and down's, not exaggerating at ALL 😬
So enjoyed today's adventure thru the Chuck Wagons and I do believe, I could smell all of the delicious food, esp. the chicken fried steak cooking. Hopefully will be able to join up with y'all on a future trip and attend in person. Grammy Kay
This looked like fun and delicious. We've been to the Texas Steak Cookoff in Hico, but not to this one in Llano. We love camping in that corridor of Texas, so we will try to hit that one. We are planning an all-Texas camping route, so I think we can fit that in. We are, also looking at camping the Texas Independence Trail. I love Texas independence history. Safe travels and you know the rest...Howard and Betty.
My wife is from the COUNTRY In East Texas and she has a hard time staying in a hotel much less staying in a Rv….life sucks as I love even tent camping..y’all living the life
My wife and I plan on making the Llano Cook-off next year. We’re retired part timers that live on Canyon Lake Tx. Just curious as to where you’ll stayed at to attend the event? Thanks for the great Texas adventures!!!
What was the name of the place you got your Blueox tow bars installed. We just got a jeep gladiator sport and want to get tow bar. We enjoy your videos every week please keep it up. Thank you
What month do they hold this (for planning purposes)? Beyond that the tickets go on sale in February, the website doesn't say when the event will be in 2023. Setting things up to start exploring Texas and beyond later this year. Howdy from H-Town.
Yes! It happens every April. Anyone can go to see the chuckwagons for free. If you want to eat the food from one of the wagons, you’ll need to buy a ticket in advance. Tickets go on sale in February and always sell out. We have more information & a link to their website in this post on our website: rvtexasyall.com/region-texas-hill-country/events/llano-river-chuckwagon-cookoff

Awesome video. I would enjoy going to this event, but Texas is pretty far away from Indiana. The food looks good. Take care.

Nice, yes, Food. Just saying, someone needs a haircut.
Thanks, 🤣
bet them old cowboys never got anything but beans and biscuits maybe some salt pork so this is not how they ate
I’m not sure because I wasn’t around in those days but this grub was good, that’s all I know!
Lose the music, more explanations of what we're looking at.
Thanks for the constructive criticism but no music means no future views from most viewers! 🤷♂️
