Happy Sunday! Blanco State Park might be small, but it has a lot to offer & the location is tough to beat! Next week, we’ll be sharing more on the town of Blanco and some of the things we did while we were there. It was a busy week! If you’d like to see more on Blanco SP, check out our complete Blanco State Park Visitors' Guide: rvtexasyall.com/region-texas-hill-country/campgrounds/blanco-state-park
It was nice to meet you at Inks a few days ago . And I didn’t get to see your cat but did here . Ours is 19 years old ! A Blue Siamese and she travels w us now . Kidney pills every day ! Wish I could share her pic here
In these times wouldn’t a new Civilian Conservation Corps be a grand idea? Think of the parks that could be restored or created and trades learned. Thanks for taking this old widower along!
It’s such a wonderful little park! And the Blanco river is very refreshing on those hot Texas days! We can’t wait to get back there later this summer. June cannot come fast enough for us.
Love it when you go to a CCC Park as they are so well built. The water didn't look all to bad either. Enjoyed the walk along. Stay safe and take care. Love y'all
So glad y'all did a park review of Blanco State Park!!! That pavilion holds a special place in my heart as my family has had our family reunions every summer in that pavilion for decades!! I'm looking forward to seeing your video on the town. Thanks again for this great informative video!
Nice review of this park. It’s a good place to stay when Johnson City has all the lights out for Christmas. I definitely want to try that river with my kayak and/or innertube.
Loved the video! And just went to your website and read the Park Visitor's Guide. SO informative! Answered any question that one could possible have about the park (I was wondering about kayaking and fishing), as well as some you wouldn't even think to ask! Hopefully you will be creating these for all the parks you visit. This park is beautiful. Can't wait until your next video to see the town of Blanco. We live in Fort Worth and looks like we need to bring our kayaks and come check this place out!! Safe Travels and Happy Camping! (Hi to Star and Astro:)
Hi Karen! Thanks so very much! Yes, our plan is to write a full visitor guide like this for any of the State Parks, River Authority Parks, COE Parks or Forest Service Parks that we visit in Texas. Thank you for letting us know it is helpful. Here’s a link where you can see all of the park visitor guides we’ve written so far… rvtexasyall.com/texas-campgrounds-blog
Another great small state park nearby is Palmetto State Park near Luling. Historic Gonzales, TX is only 11 miles away, Shiner and the Famous Shiner Beer Brewery are only about 25 miles away and Austin and San Antonio are only an hour drive also. It is a great place to base for historic, scenic, and fun day trips as well.
Our family had a large ranch there . Wonderful memories from that area. I was hoping to see town now if I remember right there was a cool old bowling alley there ?
We’ll have a video on the town next week. Yes, there is a 9-pin bowling club there. Wish we could have seen it. We missed the day they allow non-members to watch.
I don't know if yall been to this place between Groesbeck and mexia Texas called Fort Parker state park. I'm related to Quanah Parker. The fort is still standing to this day and Quanah Parkers house best known as star house in Cache, Oklahoma but the house is bad shape in the inside but 100% worth checking out fort Parker state park and there are trails and in Groesbeck if I'm remembering right There is a a good breakfast place to eat at unless covid forced it to close down but hope not.
@@rvamericayall I know on Sept 17 this year we will be having our family reunion at the state park. I will have to go an check it out. The great history is slowly fading away seems like. Hope yall both have a great day 😁
I just found your channel. We have been living in a camper in an rv park for about a year. We are wanting to transition to full rv living in a year. Would you share your budget with me? We are trying to put together a budget. Thank you.
i didn't know the history of the park, no wonder there is still one private land owner in there. i guess that is the selfish land owner who didnt want to donate their land 😂

A great review of Blanco State Park!
Once upon a time long ago - I was married in the day use area of the park.
That is awesome, thanks for sharing!
1/2 mile walk, that would have been a walk to the postal mail boxes at the cross roads of mid America and elsewhere to pick up mail 50-60 years ago.
😂
Good video, can you do another cooking video? Really enjoy seeing Tom cook!
Thanks, it’s been a little crazy lately but if we get a little time to plan one we will. Thanks for the suggestion.
Nice
Thanks

We have been to Fort Parker State Park but the fort is now owned by an independent & wasn’t in good shape last time we went there!

1/2 mile? What were you two thinking?
😂
Here now in site #4
Awesome!

Thanks for watching. We are planning that video towards the end of this year!
say it like this... blank co
For the town not park. The park & river is pronounced Blonko. Per the Park Rangers & locals in town. 😊
Blank-co is right, not Blahnk_o!
Yep, we got it! 😂
@@rvamericayall Thanks, watched your later video. Appreciate your shout out to Bernice West! 😋
Well I found your introduction a little annoying. Blanco is not Blonco. Otherwise great video. My ancestors settled Blanco.
We actually asked locals how to pronounce it and got different answers! 🤷♂️
i didn't know the history of the park, no wonder there is still one private land owner in there. i guess that is the selfish land owner who didnt want to donate their land 😂
😂
Both are pronounced Blank-O. Come on man!!!
😂
Not very attractive.
Matter of opinion
