Believe it or not I arrived here because some random posted a link to your Glenmo Cognac Cask review on a deals site here in the UK. Absolutely amazing channel you've got, how you's ain't got thousands of subs is beyond me? Well I'm definitely going to grab a couple of bars of Lindt Orange Intense with Almonds tomorrow to try with a Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve I picked up for a bargain 19 quid a couple of weeks ago. You've definitely got an enthusiastic new sub here 👍 wishing you a very Merry Christmas by raising two glasses in your honour: A Northern Monk Black Forest Gateau Stout 🍺 and a Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Cask 🥃 have a good'un 🎄
Cheers and thanks for the kind words of support...We're thrilled you found us...let us know how you like the chocolate paired with the Whisky (we really love the match). Cheers and Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Outstanding as always gentlemen. The only lowland I've had enough of to have an opinion on is Glenkinchie and I like it. Softer with more floral and grass notes but very complex. A high proof lowland is intriguing enough for me to purchase of bottle of the Cask Strength Batch 1 despite its cost. You have never steered me wrong so I look forward to picking the bottle up tomorrow and posting my thoughts shortly. Great job Larry! It's always nice to see Scotch loving guests on the episodes. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Just watched this review as my first TBWD video. I like your format and content, and it appears you have good experience with whisky. But why in the world did you not play with adding water to this whisky to experience the full flavor? Especially after all the talk of 'vicious', 'high AVB', etc.? Sure, hit it neat once or twice at first, then add a decent amount of water to properly experience this dram. In my hundreds of bottles of cask strength malts, only one or maybe two at this ABV did I feel were close enough to ideal at bottle strength without some bit of dilution. Keep up the good work, and please know you will broaden your horizons immeasurably if you play with adding water over a period of time.
Hello! For some reason I rarely add water, Malcom will occasionally move down that path...but we seem to be glutens for punishment; if you look at it right, it can be 'pleasurment'. Cheers and thanks!!
@@TBWD Ha, OK. This water business really is an individual thing. But I suggest trying it a little at a time over half an hour or so to see how it goes with your palate. Somewhere between about 48% and about 51% after dilution (just my estimation) is usually good for me, but see what you think. You can do it offscreen and not tell us!! Enjoy.
