Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 1 is - as the name suggests - the first cask strength release from the distillery which will become an annual series of limited edition bottlings. Distillery Manager John Campbell and his team selected whiskies maturing in first-fill ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks that worked particularly well at a higher strength, marrying them together to create a batch of 15,000 bottles available worldwide at an ABV of 60.1%.

Hi Ben, Thanks again for a wonderful Lochlea Whisky review.
Batch 1 has ben justed released her in Germany.
It is possible to buy it her for 62.90 EUR.
This is a brilliant price. I think I will purchase a bottle.
Cheers form Germany, Oliver
Happy to see it getting opened and enjoyed. Hopefully the flipping will get less profitable and the bottles end up in the hands of enthusiasts that actually enjoy it for what it is.
I couldn't agree more!
I loved my first bottle so bought another 2 , not really sure about the second bottle it’s nothing like I remember, going to leave it a while on the shelf to see if it calms down
Definitely appreciate your well-articulated and genuinely enthusiastic reviews. Keep up the...spirited work!
I'm often fascinated by the changes a mere drop or two of water might introduce to a high ABV dram just as much as how a little water might bring no noteworthy benefits.
Interested to know if you've tried Lochlea's "Ploughing Edition," which is their first (?) peated expression (albeit lightly peated by way of former Islay casks).
I have indeed had the Ploughing and loved it! Here's the review: ua-cam.com/video/wtUwOpjbYlQ/v-deo.html
