Awesome list, and congrats on 2k dude! I had no idea Wormwood had a new album! I played the shit out of Arkivet in 2021. A very good surprise! I think my favs were Gatecreeper and Uncle Acid. I had a busy month and am playing catch up now (which your video helps with immensely! Thanks!)
Cheers, no problem at all! Glad my list could help find a few new ones to check out! Ya the new Wormwood is pretty solid. If you loved Arkivet, I am pretty confident you will dig the new one too!
Impressive list as always mate! I just haven't found the motivation to check out as many albums as I did last year, but I've done a bit better in May than in previous months. Some good ones as well, though Vemod is still my favorite of the year. Don't pay too much attention to the order of the bottom 4. I listened once and enjoyed them quite a bit, will need to dive deeper! 1. Parfaxitas - Weaver of the Black Moon (people from Horna/Whoredom Rife etc) 2. Whoredom Rife - Den Vrede Makt (local Norwegian band. I'm sure this is a grower, will need more time for sure. The last song though, fucking great!) 3. Kråbøl - Never (local Norwegian band) 4. Dauþuz - Uranium (German bm) 5. Svrm - Прощання (Ukrainian bm, EP) 6. Häxanu / Collier d'Ombre - Seasons in Haxan Dark (US bm, split released in mars, but heard it in May. As always, released by Amor Fati = good music) 7. Collier d'Ombre - ...The Piercing Winds of Mortal Dawn (released april, demo. Productive dapper yappers these lads)
Cheers! You always give me some new stuff to check out, so thanks for that! Parfaxitas sounds interesting, gonna be checking that out today for sure! And ya the closing track on the new Whoredom Rife is top notch!

haha ya when there's 5 release weeks in a month and the last day has so many great releases its hard! Good problem to have with too many awesome albums. Nice list, a handful in there I need to check out, so thanks for those! Icy Steel sounds right up my alley, love me some epic heavy metal and not familiar with that one at all. Cheers!
@HammerheartMetalReviews i need to check out Botanist and Saidan from your list. I Wasn't big on Flamekeeper through one listen but maybe should give it another chance. Megaton Sword was the album last year for me that I didn't like much at all after one listen then it ended up on my year end list haha so you never know how music will Change for you. The new Rhapsody of Fire was my first experience with the band and I quite liked it so I really gotta check out their classic releases. Cheers
Great list, man. That Hellbutcher has been in constant rotation. So much new shit lately, it's truly overwhelming. Make sure you give the new Árstíðir Lífsins a spin if you haven't yet. Killer, multinational pagan black metal. I think it's right up your alley.
Cheers man! I hadnt heard Arstidit Lifsins until someone recommended it in the comments here actually! Just listened to it the other day and ya you are right, its definitely my kind of thing, really solid album. I will be spending more time with it for sure!
My list: 1) Tzompantli - Beating The Drums Of Ancestral Force (Death-Doom with indigenous influences) 2) Saidan - Visual Kill: The Blossoming Of Psychotic Depravity (Melodic Black Metal) 3) Vale Of Pnath - Between The Worlds Of Life And Death (Symphonic Blackened Death Metal) 4) Riot V - Mean Streets (Heavy Metal) 5) Black Pyramid - The Paths Of Time Are Vast (Stoner Doom) 6) Pallbearer - Mind Burns Alive (Doom) 7) Hemotoxin - When Time Becomes Loss (Technical Death-Thrash) 8) Wheel - Charismatic Leaders (Progressive Metal) 9) Vredehammer - God Slayer (Blackened Death Metal) 10) Ufomammut - Hidden (Stoner Doom) 11) Effluence - Necrobiology (Avant-Garde Death Metal) 12) Hextar - Doomsayer (Heavy Metal) 13) Gatecreeper - Dark Superstitions (Melodic Death Metal) 14) Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats - Nell' Ora Blu (Psychedelic Progressive Rock) 15) The Last Of Lucy - Godform (Technical Deathcore) 16) Mad Hatter - Oneironautics (Power Metal with Neoclassical influences) 17) Nocturnus AD - Unicursal (Tech-Death) 18) Botanist - Paleobotany (Blackgaze) 19) Warlord - Free Spirit Soar (US Power Metal) 20) Bat - Under The Crooked Claw (Thrash)
Lots of interesting recommendations (as always😀). Will definitely check out Horn, cause I don't know them yet. Seems like you missed a really awesome Black Metal Record which came out last Friday. Aldrlok by Árstíðir lífsins. To me one of the best records of the year so far. Thanx for the effort you put in your videos
Update to my previous response, I am checking this album out right now. Only one song in and I already like it a lot. Definitely right up my alley for the kind of stuff I love. Thanks so much for mentioning this one!
Very strong month. I was dead impressed with that Vreidhammer release. Another album that blew me away was Exhumation (Indonesia) - Master's Personae sounds a bit like Obliteration. Thought Putrified (Sweden) & Morgue (France) put out excellent outputs also.
Cheers! Ya the riffs on that Vredehammer album are so good! I havent heard any of the other ones you mentioned, so thanks for those! Gonna check them out!

Cheers! Cloven Hoof! Completely forgot they were releasing a new one this month. I really dig their early albums, will definitely check out the new one
The Rotting Chriat album is a contemplative album for sure. If you haven't heard the two bonus tracks, please do, especially Primal Resurrection as it sounds straight out of A Dead Poem
Great list dude! I've been digging new Rhapsody of Fire but I am new to them as well (so went in with no expectations). Which albums would you recommend as their better ones?
Cheers dude! I absolutely love their early era (when they were still just called Rhapsody haha). My favorite albums are Legendary Tales, Dawn of Victory, Symphony of Enchanted Lands. But you cant go wrong with the vast majority of their discography. Their previous guitarist Luca Turilli just brought a different dimension to the band, and I love their old vocalist as well, who is now the singer for Angra. Anyways, cheers! Hope you enjoy checking out some of their older stuff!
BURZUM with "The Land of Thulê" was the only one I felt compelled to give multiple listens this month - probably will not stick with me cause it's pretty simple & repetitive but still for me Varg shows how effortlessly he can still stand out amidst sea of new releases
Cheers! Only reason I didnt include it is because I read that it was only a taste of the whole album that will come out later? Not sure though...I think Varg had stated something along those lines, that it was going to be a lengthy album. I could be wrong though, seems to be different things said about that online. Maybe this is the full album?
That Saidan album is so good! And ya RC definitely left something to be desired. They basically made my list by default lol, but ya not one I will be returning to a ton. Somewhat disappointing
haha, fair enough! One mans trash is another's treasure lol. Thats what I love about these videos, just getting everyone else's thoughts as well. I didnt love Rotting Christ or Rhapsody, but thought they were OK. Unleash the Archers took some time to grow on me, and definitely is not their strongest, but I still enjoy it. Anyways, cheers!
