I get the Idea of going to the Lego store just for the fun of it to see some of the new sets built and am almost always tempted to get a pick a brick cup/box and there are many sets that are exclusive and not sold by 3rd party retailers but especialy for things like harry potter sets and speed champions 3rd party retailers are going to often have 30% discounts almost imediately
@Mahtioh yeah we would generally agree with you there. Most times we wait to see from Smyths of it goes over 20% which would be better than retail. Normally we only go retail if we really want a gwp or they have good point deals. This one was just a slight exception
@@BrickSweethearts from Ireland myself but live in Germany and also find Smyths here one of the best places to find good deals. For me finding the good deals and discounts is half the fun of the hobby and Lego can be expensive enough without buying everything at full retail price. Have only just recently discovered your channel and I have enjoyed watching a few of the set reviews I like that the focus is mainly on the sets themselves and not the value for money which some other reviewers get overly focused on and forget to talk about the set itself
@Mahtioh Thank you for joining the community and watching our videos 🤗 yeah sometimes when we go about our weekend and getting tasks done, we happen to stumble into Smyths and go hunting for sets that are at least 4x points of lego store. In regards to focusing on price, there's plenty of channels that already do that and tbh we don't see the point for that all the time. There's certain themes we won't buy as they don't suit our taste regardless of how good the price is. Tbh most people have already made their mind if they will buy a set or not based on their subject tastes, us giving opinion on price don't mean much 🤷
