This game even have a mini video SHOWING it. And he still failed. I know on this day and age most players are lazy to read the tutorial but not having the patience and focus to watch a demonstration of 3 seconds long? Plz tyler work on your atention span
With this being on switch now I've been absolutely enjoying the game. Even though I haven't won at least once, I just love seeing how far I can get and also getting some of the achievements. This is a rpg I really enjoy because of it being like classic role-playing games.
as somebody who is addicted to rogue lites. "Vagante" is the hardest one ive ever played. i cant beat it. makes me so mad. its multiplayer its really fun too. just hard as nails.
This reminds me a lot of Pathos nethack, That is, mostly just the very close resemblance to the original roguelike genre, with random potions, identifying of gear and randomness to the whazoo. As far as I can see its also a bit less chaotic (and easier to get into blind) which is both an upside and downside.
I haven't played Barony in years, it seems to have gotten quite a couple updates as I don't remember all the tutorials and the stats/class screens at all. Game looks as fun and brutal as I remember.
It was only after he picked up the scroll named temov that I recognized the mechanics from nethacks systems, in which my favorite rogue like adaption of nethack is pathos and I feel like olexa would like it
Hey, Olexa! When you review a roguelike with cooperative elements, I know I personally enjoy watching cooperative content more than solo, although you tend to be an exception, your stuff is great. :) If you want a buddy to review coop roguelikes with, I have recently started doing content creation (streaming on Twitch and posting clips/long-form videos to UA-cam and shorts from my streams on tik tok) and am SUPER into roguelikes. They are my favorite genre and I play tons of them on the regular. I would absolutely love to do some collaborative content playing some multiplayer roguelikes if you are interested in getting a multiplayer perspective on said games. I just joined your Discord server as well, so I can shoot you a message if you would like to chat about it! Keep up the excellent work!
Its hard at start but once you get it, its pretty easy imo I will say certain builds make it a cake walk compared to others but this game is one of my fav games have 300 hours on steam.
This def is the hardest rougelike, at least the first hour i played it, i thought i was doing something wrong because i sucked so much... but no the game just.. wow
It was almost painful watching how un-coordinated he is with the hot bar/swapping things around, along with being blind to random parts of the screen/UI like asking about a map when it’s always up in bottom corner and completely missing things like the spells button
This contains a little gameplay spoilers, not any lore or anything, just methods on cheese that can ruin your experience. PS, this needs the DLC. as someone whos beaten the game a few times including the secret boss, my advice for a successful game would be playing as the skeleton conjurer. Make sure to know how to make magic and health potions, level up your skeletons, always go to the gnome mines, and find a tinkering kit, train block, train swim, train magic and casting by using light until your level 40 then use another spell like levitation or forcebolt. After enough attempts, alot of goos luck, and refining how you play, along with getting knowledge / experience you can get pretty consistent wins. Another combo would be the vampire and wizard, where you disable hunger and spam levitation until your max magic and casting, doesn’t work if your against cheesing the game.
by the way im just gonna put this here but stealth is stupidly overpowered and new players have no idea how it works so let me write a summary enemies see a few tiles ahead of them depending on who they are, this distance drastically decreases if you are not in any light, and if your holding space with nothing in your left hand (No torches, spellbooks, or shields). Distance they see is also decreased by your level of stealth. For stealth combat, wait until a still standing npc turns around, hit them, run away, hold space, repeat. Enemies go to where they last saw you, and keep going for awhile until they stop, which is why you run away.
Its also recommended if your a monster race, and are very confident in your skills to attack shopkeepers, since they drop alot of goodies and if you polymorph you can still trade with future shopkeepers
For the boulders, uh… just dodge For the minotaur? I hate that guy I normally play with him off and kill him in the desert since he ruins the pacing of the game for me
that thumbnail is the most unacceptable form of clickbait it's literally one of the easier ones if you have atleast 1 friend so boulder traps aren't game enders, plus warrior class is busted, you start out with enough ac to tank most things
Olexa instantly failing the hotbar tutorial is so funny.
Clearly he doesnt play alot of games that let you put anything you like on the hotbat
Exactly
Im in backseating hell and it's just the tutorial
@@CmdrCornhahaha XD

Oh man, Barony. I love this game, I still play it all the time. It's so deep for what it is. I hope we get more of this.
Let's freaking GO dude, so glad to see this underrated gem getting more and more recognition from great content creators :)
Automaton accused or no balls
I put so many hours into this game. Good to see it popping off again.
this game rocks. must say it is very funny to see you finish equipping a pair of cursed -1 gloves and then immediately equip them
..you mean finishing appraisal?
OH! This is such a good game, I love playing this one multiplayer.
All of the 1 hit kill traps make for hilarious runs.
A little tip! There is a beginner class called the cleric (I think) Which makes the Barony experience a liiiiitle easier.
Wow. Him failing to realize you can put items in the hotbar when there is a sign and video showing you how to do it bodes REAL well for this video
Im so glad that they are still giving this game the love it deserves, its been a minute since they actually added things in and it feels good
Before I even clicked on the video I was like, “oh I wonder if he’s playing barony”.
With this being on switch now I've been absolutely enjoying the game. Even though I haven't won at least once, I just love seeing how far I can get and also getting some of the achievements. This is a rpg I really enjoy because of it being like classic role-playing games.

Great game
Haven’t watched in a while but favorite comfort UA-camr , hoping for a series on this 🙏
I remember playing this game a few years ago, the UI is so much better now!
“I don’t need a tutorial”.
Immediately lost on how to quick swap items.
Don’t ever change.
This reminds me a lot of Pathos nethack,
That is, mostly just the very close resemblance to the original roguelike genre, with random potions, identifying of gear and randomness to the whazoo.

It is a blast with friends btw. Getting the dlcs is quite worth
I have a feeling we will see more of this.

thank you for playing this

Man Barony is such a banging zinger
Would love to see more of this!
Wish this game had significant content mods and whatnot. I think there's so much potential.
More! Love the depth

IMAGINE WHEN HE FINDS OUT ITS MULTIPLAYER
Hopefully we see more of this
Its hard at start but once you get it, its pretty easy imo I will say certain builds make it a cake walk compared to others but this game is one of my fav games have 300 hours on steam.
That's it? You resisted the urge to jump back in after that troll destroyed Charlie?
i play barony with friends 6 hours per run, its fantastic. Like a d&d
Oh man, Barony's so cool! Didn't realize there was an update, gotta go back and play some more.
UA-cam tagging this as minecraft has me weak.
Definitely tough, I've only won once and towards the end its just a mad dash to get through the last few floors
there are some really good mods for the game my favoret being the bently hills song playing when the minotaur comes after ya
YOOOO BARONY
my beloved
got the game yesterday and played couch co-op, we died a lot but had fun
How long has it been since I played this game. It looks so much cleaner now and they now have tutorials?
I picked this game for free on Epic Games a long time back! I never got around to playing it but maybe this will convince me
How to be a gaming journalist... Fail at the hotbar tutorial 😆...
I’m not a gaming journalist, I’m literally just a guy
barony is such a cool game yk
oh yes the best roguelike "minecraft"
Pleeease do play more of this
It literally shows u a video on how to do the hotbar
He will teach you how to place your sheld on the 2nd slot of your hot bar
Is it available for VR😲
This def is the hardest rougelike, at least the first hour i played it, i thought i was doing something wrong because i sucked so much... but no the game just.. wow
Reminds me of good old AD&D.
It's funny going through tutorial asking questions yet they add tutorial clips for exactly that question
Looove Barony, absolute banger of a roguelike. I'm also complete trash at it despite having a LOT of hours into it lol
Reminds me to delver 😮 more 3d; im probably gonna try It :3
Are you Northern Lions son?
No I’m his dad
You should try paint the town red
Fuck ya let's go dudes
Damn where is voidogo we need more its amazing or can you play the black jack game
Dungeons and degen is just a demo, so no more yet. Voidigo, the views were horrific so I ended the series
@@OlexaYT really i thout people liked voidogo. But ima wait Till the real game is here(dungeons and degen)
The hardest rouge-like definitely has to be fear and hunger, being extremely punishing and cunning
My favorite part was when he went insane.
Hmmmm.... NetHack in 3D... interesting
This seems like a first person version of WazHack
I am glad that I pirated this before deciding to buy it.
It's more of a weird puzzle game than a real ARPG.
No probably not Lexo.
Ahh yes Minecraft (according to UA-cam
This is a literal rhythm roguelike game lol
Doom graphics
lol I get clapped on first enemies…so far cleric is best one…or monk…monk is really good
It was almost painful watching how un-coordinated he is with the hot bar/swapping things around, along with being blind to random parts of the screen/UI like asking about a map when it’s always up in bottom corner and completely missing things like the spells button
Only on Hardcore. Normal mode is easy.

It’s known as one of the hardest roguelikes out there lol. It’s not clickbait
moar
Watch lyciant gaming for bare tips
Its not the hardest 🤓
ring of pain is harder duh
