Everyone please read this... i work on miele machines so have a lot of experience with these units.. If you are going to refill your containers with your own liquid.. PLEASE MAKE SURE THE VISCOSITY IS THE SAME AS THE MIELE TWIN DOS LIQUID!!! if its thicker liquid then you risk blocking the small hoses which have the liquid run though them. The hoses are very small and a change in viscosity can cause massive issues for the machine. The reason the "refillable bottles" are taller with the extra round bit on the base is because these bottles are not intended to be used with your own liquid.. the purpose of the extra round piece is to stop the small cover door being closed as these bottles ore to run your "maintenance cycle" to "flush twin dos". Your supposed to just put warm water in them and run that cycle to prevent blockages in the lines which will cause leaks into the base of your machine. At theend ofthe day if twindos bottles costtoo much for you then just use the standard system of the dispenser drawer at the top and dontbuy the twin dos model. As it is ifyou read your manuals it recommends to flush your twindos system with warm water even if your going away on holiday for a month because you will come back to blocked lines and a machine that eventually comes up with a "Waterproof" fault code and just constantly runs the drain pump preventing you from using it until a service person comes to repair it.
Thanks for this. How hot should the water be? The manual doesn't even specify that it's water that you should be putting in the refill cartridges when performing the maintenance. Also between this and TwinDosCare, which one would you pick?
Thank you for your lovely comment dear musical man. Yes……I cherished the time and service that my gadgets has given me, sometimes feel bad to throw them away 🤣
The reason your cartridge is deformed is because, as you said quite correctly, the machine sucks up the detergent and as there's no air inside the cartridge it goes pear-shaped. I had this problem even with a full cartridge and my machine keeps telling me to insert a cartridge. I even ejected the brand new cartridge and re-inserted it and still same problem. An engineer from Miele arrived and the first thing he did was to inspect the cartridge. It was pointed out to me that the cartridge was slightly out of shape due to being sucked too hard by the machine. He then revealed to me a trick by puncturing a top corner of the cartridge in its "in use" position, i.e. horizontal position, with a 1 cm slash from a Stanley knife and re-inserted the cartridge. And hey-ho, all's singing and dancing again after this.
The cartridges have a one way air valve opposite the spout where the detergent comes out. If that gets wet or dirty it will become plugged and no longer allow air to enter the cartridge as detergent is removed. poking a small hole in a spot where detergent will not leak our when the cartridge is inserted in the machine will work.
Crazy that you refill the original sooo slowly i think i can use different method but considering that they selling the refilling bottles i will buy it straight away, and but the way you need to adjust the ml dosage because persil and commercial are not ultra concentrated like miele detergent so you have to set 50-55 ml according to the instruction on the bottle for normal dirt and according for your water hardness area… it will last you a year because it still use the little amount that is settle in the fabric for miele detergent.
Thank you for your lovely comment dear emma. That right I used Persia and ace. I put the fabric softener in the draw in the little department. Which has a symbol of a flower on the top lid.
What is Ace? Is that like a prewash stain remover? And the fabric softener compartment in the drawer can still be used even if bottle 2 is used for a completely different purpose? Would that mean when it is time for machine to use bottle #2 in the cycle, the stain remover and fabric softener get used together? Thanks in advance
Sorry to get back to you so late .I have just seen your message. I believe Ace is a stain remover. I always use ace in container 2. And meanwhile In order to make my clothes smells nice I use fabric softener as well. I put the liquid softener in the drawer ( left corner of the machine) which has a flower pattern on.if I use lenor blue non stoppables ( looks like little blue hard balls) I will put them in the washing drum
This depends on where you bought your machine. Some countries do not have the ability to specify what agent is in each slot. In machines sold in North America, phase 1 and phase 2 are locked to Miele only agent options. Detergent in phase 1 and oxygen bleach in phase 2. It is not possible to select anything else. If softener is desired it must be added to the pull out tray dispenser for each load.
Hi can you use persil for normal wash 1 and for coloured in slot 2. I do not need fabric softner as I have soft water to the machine. Does this mean that for normal cotton wash detergent will dispense from slot 1 and for coloured wash from slot 2
Hi mohamedraza. I Might be wrong but according to my research :detergent one and two are completely different.slot one is like washing liquid .slot 2 has the power to bleach a little bit.I normally use the one called ” ice “in slot two. Fabric container I normally put in the draw with the flower sign on top. I think it make the washing smells nice
In my country, Norway, it’s common to buy one of two kinds: either for “color” or for “white”. (Regardless which brand. Our most popular are Omo and Blenda) I’m guessing UP1 is for color and UP2 is for whites.. since it bleaches a little. Does this sound right?
@@torsteinrensaa5066 Hello, have you got any answer to this question or tried out that combination? What to put in these two containers without risking clogging is a bit enigmatic... I think, and the full purpose of the two original Miele liquids is not clear to me. It would be an environmentally good solution if one coul buy bigger bags of some suitable liquid detergent somewhere...
In the display menu, you can select either twindos slot 1 or 2 for colour or white detergent, as well as the dosed amount. When using another liquid detergent other than Miele Ultraphase 1/2, I recommend to dilute with an equal amount of water and then increase the dose by twice as much (to compensate for the dilution). This is to avoid any viscosity issues as mentioned by KP’s pinned post above.
hello, do you have any problems with twin dos or the washing machine and what about the expensive refill bottles? are they long lasting? Thank you very much for answer. You are very good.
Thank you for your kind words dear Khajalol. I personally think the refills lasts quite a good period of time depending on how often you use the washing machine. The only thing bothers me is its extremely long washing circles. Thank you again dear friend.
The Miele liquid ( 1 and 2 canisters) have an air vent above the spout that feeds the liquid into the machine.. which is quiet often not working due to there being no holes in it....That`s why the canisters collapse. just get a safety pin and push it through the plastic vent to open the tiny holes up...only need to open 2-3 of the (holes) indents which is sufficient to allow enough air into canister to stop this happening.
I work on miele machines and I can say if you do this with the original miele liquid which has a low viscosity it will just slowly leak out those holes you just made
Good to hear that dear Vlad. I’m not sure exactly how full they should be filled, but I know for sure that they are not filled 100% to the top. I would leave a gap maybe about 6 cm? Please double check Miele web site.
Go into the app, select the washer, click the status tab, select the phase 1 or two bottle icon, drag the slider bar up to the top to show the bottle as full, select the save icon. The machine will then show you the current fill status (just an estimate) as the bottle is used
