Honestly? I felt bad for the Monkey that Skar King Killed. 😢 I remember seeing this in theaters and actually cheering for Kong to Kick Scar Kings Ass. I’m a Godzilla fan mainly so this is rare for me to cheer for the Giant Monkey.

Ca me surprend toujours quand je tombe sur quelqu'un d'autre qui parle également français en plus de l'anglais lol.
Juste envie de te dire que je suis complètement d'accord avec toi sur le fait que Skar King aurait plus que certainement gagné leur premier combat s'il avait continué (la novelization, même si utile à quelques endroits pour des confirmations de faits déjà sous-entendus dans le film, ne reste que du soft canon et n'est donc pas 100% fiable dans ce qu'elle raconte, sans parler du fait que le statement dont ils parlent ne provient en fait seulement que du POV de Kong sur comment il pense que la suite de son combat va se dérouler et qu'on nous montre à plusieurs reprises dans la novelization que Kong n'a pas toujours raison concernant ses analyses).
Je dirais personnellement que Skar King l'emporterai high-extreme diff en ce qui concerne ce premier affrontement (donc un quasi 50/50 entre lui et Kong pour la victoire) car je trouve quand même que celui-ci et Kong sont globalement au même niveau de puissance avant que ce dernier n'obtienne le Beast Glove (avec un ayant un large avantage de vitesse et l'autre de force) et Kong aurait tout de même très fortement affaibli et endommager Skar King avant de se faire ultimement achever.
Et concernant l'argument que Skar King décidant d'avoir recourt à Shimo signifie qu'il sait qu'il n'a aucune chance et qu'il va finir par se faire tuer par Kong dans leur 1V1, de 1, son langage non verbale à ce moment montre tout sauf de l'inquiètude ou de la peur envers Kong (et franchement, évidement qu'il ne pense pas soudainement que Kong va finir par le battre à ce moment-là, tout ce que Kong a réussi à lui faire dans leur premier combat c'est le jeter violement au sol alors que Skar King l'a malmener et a failli le tuer en l'étranglant) et de 2, le fait qu'il utilise Shimo à ce moment-ci ne veut pas forcément dire qu'il avait BESOIN d'elle pour tuer Kong, plus que son intervention lui était plus que bénéfique. Pour vite fait élaborer là-dessus, Skar King est très intelligent, on le sait, et , malgré le fait qu'il se soit moqué de Kong durant leur rencontre et leur premier combat, il s'est vite rendu compte quand Kong l'a pris par surprise en le projetant brutalement dans le sol que celui-ci était bien plus puissant qu'un simple membre de leur espèce ou de son armée et qu'il représentait une véritable menace pour lui. Si leur affrontement aurait continué jusqu'à sa conclusion, le vainqueur, peu importe qui il aurait été (malgré le fait que je pense que ça aurait été Skar), n'en sortirai pas indemne du tout. Je pense qu'il est très probable que Skar King ait prévu la possibilité que, après sa victoire contre Kong, ses sujets en auraient profité pour lancer un coup d'état contre lui en tentant de l'achever dans sa forme affaibli. Après tout, il a besoin que ses soldats ouvrent la cascade de lave de Shimo pour qu'elle puisse lui venir en aide immédiatement (avant qu'il ne le submerge complètement dans son faible état) et, dans ce cas-ci, ceux-ci n'écouteront très certainement pas ses ordres. Mais même au delà de cette éventualité, mettons nous à la place de Skar King deux secondes. Quel est la meilleur solution pour lui? Continuer un combat 1V1 serré contre Kong, risquant non seulement une potentiel défaite contre lui mais également et surtout une rébellion de la part de son armée au vue de son état affaibli, ou utiliser sa plus grande et puissante arme pour one-shot Kong sans aucune difficulté et démontrer une nouvelle fois à ses sujets que même un membre de leur espèce aussi puissant que Kong (atteignant visiblement même le niveau de leur empereur), celui qui représentait peut-être leur dernier espoir d'être libéré du règne tyrannique de Skar King, n'est RIEN devant la toute-puissance de son arme ultime. Perso, la réponse est vite répondu, et je pense qu'elle était également vite répondu dans la tête de Skar King.

The whip skar king has is a pretty deadly weapon, skar king is very skilled with it I personally think a whip like weapon can be a bit harder to master than something like an axe where you just got to get in close and hit them with the sharp part there’s really not much to it, whereas skar kings weapon I feel like if your not skilled with it you can end up hitting yourself with it but he just whips it around like a natural being able to do flips with it in his hand, being able to cut and also disarm kong with it, not to mention the crystal at the end is more than just something sharp to cut or stab you it also controls a giant ice titan that has a very powerful ice blast , I really enjoyed skar king as a villain his fighting style is so unique I love it

For the hype and lead up I was kinda disappointed in scar king. I enjoyed the movie but I think they could of made scar king a little more on kongs level, Kong rag dolled scar king in hollow earth and in the final battle.
I would respectfully disagree: making him a spineless coward who hides behind meat shields/his attack dog Shimo adds kind of more of a despicable depth to him. Because at the end of the day, for all of his fear and tyranny, he’s nothing more than a paper tiger and Kong knows this. But it’s definitely a great film! My favorite in the MV so far.

@@AlienCovenant2023 But also note that except for one time, whenever he was faced with Godzilla, he basically noped out of his way. Kong also thrashed him pretty good, and Skar knew he’d lose which is why he brought out Shimo.

So instead he called out Shimo, as a king he has to be in good shape to rule his kingdom, and keep healthy for fighting and controlling, so he just called Shimo to finish it off so he wouldn't risk getting very hurt. But after that he faced Kong again and didn't call Shimo or what and still got the upper hand!
@@AlienCovenant2023 Historically, some “Kings” were most definitely not in good shape and still ravaged entire countries. Timur couldn’t even mount a horse on his own and was notably handicapped, yet caused devastation and conquest on a massive scale.
And what movie did you watch? Skar was constantly relying on Shimo to carry him in the final fight between he and Godzilla/Kong. Once Shimo is broken out of his control, he’s bodied within 5 minutes. He got a few lucky hits on Kong but really only was able to capitalize on them because he had Shimo right there. Skar King never had the upper hand in the final battle, it was basically all Shimo doing the work.

I wanna see a skar king v kong, no weapons or help, one v one in a giant makeshift fighting pit/crater lol... kong is the stalky mike tyson type of brawler, slower but powerful, and skar king with the lanky ass slender build, long arms, agile and can twist ur ass up if u not careful...with a touch of capawaire (eddy gordo from tekken? The dance fighting), i saw some of that shit in SK fightimg style as well... kong is STRONG but SK looks like he got a metal chin..kong hits that fool about as hard n flush he possibly could have, knocked out SK tooth but he just spit that shit out like a boulder!! kept it pushing like he didnt just get hit hard enough to get his bell rung. Im just curious about how old SK is?? Is he past his prime?? Or still in his prime?? I think Kong is stronger, because he is able to fight even with Godzilla on equal terms up to a certain time, since Kong has always lost to him because he is younger and does not have such a durable skin.

I think the issue with a lot of criticism of Scar King in this movie, inspite of some of it being valid (I.e. how underdeveloped he is as an antagonist), what people miss is that Scar king being incredibly weak against Kong and Godzilla and only having the strength that he has primarily because of Shimo, really is the point of his character.
He’s suppose to be a weak ruler that puts on a show of strength through how he utilizes fear against his captives and followers, through his fighting style, and through his control of Shimo. But when Kong shows up the audience, the ape colony, and Suko are shown what true strength looks like. How it’s found in compassion and kindness, rather and fear and oppression. That and Kong likely has way more battle experience than Scar King does. Hence why he’s able to defeat him so quickly in the final fight.
Scar King is a weak king not out of the writers lacking insight on where to go with, but because that’s the point of his character. To show how weak of a King he is, how much he puts on such a strong persona that intimidates his followers and slaves, and how weak he and his rule really is shown to be through the real strength of Godzilla and Kong.
I’m not saying Godzilla x Kong is a great or even Good movie. It’s still quite disappointing. But I believe that before people jump the gun by saying that it’s an outright terrible movie, people should really read between the lines and the subtleties to see the substance in a story like this with all that we are given. In spite of how underdeveloped and flawed this story is, it’s nothing compared to an actually terrible movie like Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness.
