I like how the filmmakers were able to craft such an astonishingly choreographed action scene while also keeping Kong's movements believable and true to what's possible, physiologically, for a gorilla. And how the CGI is more convincing than 95% of movies today.
That’s what I noticed, the way Kong swings and punches it doesn’t look cartoonish or ridiculous and especially when he grabs her with his feet
Ikr?! The actual choreography seriously doesn’t get enough credit. It’s so cool when Kong is like “juggling” her while fighting the V-Rexes at the same time!
Exactly. Hard to believe this movie's almost 20 years old yet the CGI and choreography in this movie still holds up better than even some movies that have come out within just the last 5 years.
And this came 2 decades ago is another mind-boggling fact 😮
Oh yeah this is really believable...
For me, this was the best King Kong movie.
Agreed. It takes everything that was great about the original and expands upon it. You could tell Peter Jackson was a huge fan of the original just by looking at the passion he put into directing this remake.
Yeah. The action was good to get me hyped up.
One of the greatest moments in cinematic CGI history. Way ahead of its time.

CGI now can be better. Sadly they just don't put their heart and soul into it they're just there for the money.
Even accounting for the Monsterverse stuff, this is probably the best fight in Kong's entire career.
Facts! He whooped 3 V-rexes without getting injured too much and it’s crazy how the dinosaurs only seemed to be intent on killing the girl more so than killing Kong
@@brizzle3903 They wanted his prized possession or humans taste really good to them.
Its insane how 2017 Kong is 4.16 times taller and 7.9 times heavier (2017 Kong should likely be more than 158 tons but Godzilla Earth should also not weigh the same as Godzilla 2019 so they make errors sometimes lol). And then in 2021 Kong now was 3.2 times even taller than in 2017, or 13.48 times taller than 2005. His official 2021 weight is unknown but Godzillas is officially listed at 99,000 tons and stated in the beginning of the movie as 147,000 tons. Most people like about 60-99,000 tons for 2021 Kong. So remember he is 3.2 times taller than in 2017 but now somehow 379-626 times heavier, depending on if he’s 60,000 or 99,000 tons at 337 feet compared to 158 tons in 2017 at 104 feet.
So from 2005 to 2021 versions he is 13.48 times taller, and about 4,950 times heavier. Thats just ABSURD! Lol. Because 2005 Kong, as you can see in this clip, is super strong, huge, and amazing. Insane to even think of him at 13.48 times taller and 4,950 times heavier!
Also dang those are some strong vines in this video 😂 holding up like 40 tons between the V Rex and Kong lol

All the new technology doesn't help as much as the CEOs think it does when the artists are working on several movies at once to accommodate for multiple movies being pumped out a year from one studio (Looking at you, Disney-Marvel).
2:56 was kinda bad cgi but the rest is amazing
And somehow 2004, 2005 CGI looks better than 300million dollar movies in 2023. 😂😢
Well once you add inflation, this movie costed a LOT of money, more than many many movies today. $207 million in 2005 is worth around $320 million today. Money is definitely one of the reasons why the CGI looks so damn good. But at the same time, CGI is an art and all of the ones that look good are created by people who have lots of compassion and talent. Things that tend to be more rare today.
Look at Godzilla minus one, such great vfx on a 15 million budget
I believe there are a few reasons as to why this looks better than alot of CGI in modern movies, this entire movie was a love note passion project for Peter Jackson and alot of people who worked on the film, Peter Jackson has said many times that the original 1933 King Kong is one of, if not his favourite film of all time and he wanted to express his love for the film by expanding and exploring the world of Kong more, you can really tell that he had a clear vision for this film and he poured his heart into it. Another reason is because of Andy Serkis and his incredible motion capture performance as Kong, he gave Kong such an emotionally complex performance, he studied Gorillas and their behaviour and movements at the zoo and on nature documentaries almost every day for months before filming started to really bring Kong to life. and finally the film itself had a massive budget at its disposal and a very hard working passionate team of animators that were provided ample time to make sure every frame of CGI for Kong looked realistic, and Peter Jackson oversaw and approved everything to make sure it lined up with his vision and that it looked amazing.
@@nvapisces7011 Godzilla Minus One looked absolutely amazing for having a 15 million dollar budget, that’s what happens when you have a passionate director and team of people creating a film together, they weren’t worried about extremely tight deadlines to just get the movie out as fast as possible, they wanted to make a masterpiece Godzilla film, and they definitely achieved that goal 😊

I agree. The NYC scenes especially the ESB ending was amazing. But overall the movie is filled with bloated scenes and bad casting. I wish jackson stuck more to the original for the main story. This is such a timeless masterpiece!
One thing I especially like about this fight is that Kong is just trying to defend himself and Ann. He isnt trying to actively kill the V Rexs unless he feel he has no choice, AND he tries to make their deaths as painless as possible. For instance, the 1st one, he knew that trying to fight 3 at once was going nowhere. So he crushed the head with that giant boulder, a quick painless death. The 2nd one, he flattened their head against the cliff, which was quick and painless as well. But he only did it because he was desperately trying to save Ann from the last V Rex and didn't want it to interfere anymore. The last one in the showdown, you can see he doesn't want to fight. He just stands ready, staring, and just roars at the V Rex to tell it to leave. But when they refuse, Kong kills them as their consequence. He gave them a chance to leave with their life. Since they refused, he killed them, but still gave a quick death. The V Rexs on the other hand would have tried to kill Kong slowly and painfully, given where they bite Kong each time.
To sum up, Kong has a sense of suffering and quick deaths, and isn't normally so violent.
wow! i guess that's why i didn't like the skull island anime because they straight up tortured some of 'em there i felt kinda bad
Quick and painless? He ripped out the tounge of the last V-Rex before ripping it's jaws apart, and he also ripped open the jaws of the one at 2:30.
@kingofthering3343 I get what you are saying, but the reason he ripped the tongue out of the last V Rex was probably because Kong was actually mad at that point, so he wanted to punish it. As for the jaw snap, it wasn't fully broken, plus it was to try and dissuade that rex. Again, he wasn't trying to actively kill that v Rex. He hoped it would leave rather than resort to killing it.
he is suppose to be the guardian of that island, dont think he kills anything unless he is attacked.
I wouldn't call ripping out your tongue and tearing your jaw open to be quick and painless. But okay.
Fight scene is masterfully put together. Full of suspense. They up the ante from a bad situation with the two V-rex, into dire one when the third comes into play.
The fighting is so believable.Kong uses his intelligence and multi-limb dexterity, the Vrex use their numerical advantage, and their powerful jaws.

This is the prophecy about the second coming of Jesus
Zechariah 13:7
“Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!” declares the LORD Almighty. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones.
The Shepherd here is Jesus.
John 10:11
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
This is the fulfillment of the prophecy.
Matthew 26:31
Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “’I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
This happened near 30 to 33 AD.
Hosea 6:1-2
Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.
After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.
In prophecies 1day is equal to 1000 years. Which means after two thousand years Jesus will return again.
And on the third day which is the 3rd millennium, we will live in his sight. We all know we cannot see God's face and live on Earth. So it's the second coming of Jesus.
Luke 21:11 ►
There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
Matthew 24:6
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
We are the witnesses of all these things. From the death of Jesus to 2030 - 2033 there are 2000 years. Jesus is coming soon. Let's all repent and turn from our old ways and turn to the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
Peace and Love to you all
Easter is pagan, the resurrection day of the Lord is correct and please stop taking the Lord's name in vain like saying omg or using it with a bad word or taking it in anyway that is in vain. Even the devil trembles in his name and we shouldn't use the powerful name like that. For the people who says Jesus is not God here's a verse.
Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Everlasting Father?. There's your answer
The whole world will turn against Israel and not just Palestinians. Then know the end is near.
God bless you all

Hj em dia nunca teremos isso.
I swear he looks better here compared to the new Kong movies
It's because he looks and acts like an actual - if oversized - gorilla. I like Monsterverse Kong as a character, but having watched the most recent movie, he's basically just a hairy human with short legs now. Walking upright most of the time and just having zero animalistic mannerisms anymore. For the 2005 movie, Andy Serkis spend hours in zoos or with documentaries, studying how a gorilla moves, their facial expressions and their mannerisms. And I think that work paid off in this movie.
This movie will always be my favorite version of Kong hands down. The amount of time and detail that went into these CGI effects by the team- the absolute realism and physics; He missed the tree the first time because of his momentum, come on!! and, pretending that this /is real/ for a moment here, the amount of absolute focus it would have taken for Kong to make sure he didn't crush Ann as he was holding her while also /Fighting/ against three very dangerous and strong opponents always amazes me. You can tell he really adored her. The ending of this movie never fails to make me cry. Well done.

Out of all the Christmas movies I've seen over the years, this 1 is without a doubt the most action-packed.
Incredible CGI, still impressive today
Best representation of King Kong I've seen yet. Hands down.
This is like 1 man fighting with 3 wolves over a soft toy 💀
Something that has always astonished me in movies is how predators values getting a meal (or in this, a small snack) over their own lives. Realistically, the rexes would have wanted to avoid conflict against King Kong even in a 3v1, not to mention 1v1 as the last rex did.
the extra material for the movie explains it:
- Kong's kind and the v-rex hate each other and hunt down each others young to eliminate future threats.
- Anne had Kong's scent.
- Kong fought these particular v-rex's multiple times before and this was their final battle.
- These v-rexes were designed to be inbred hillbillies so that might also explain why they were so aggressive.
@@Oinker-Sploinker Well, I suppose that would explain it for this movie, kind of. Thank you.
@@Oinker-Sploinker Lol, you're kidding. You're basically saying "cuz V-rexes are evil and Kong's good." It doesn't explain anything, it's just a silly made up excuse repeated in slightly different way each time.
@@Oinker-Sploinker
Well this goes completely against any sense of biology and science but...ok.
A movie about a giant ape fighting off inbred t rex hilbillies with evil intentions..just to get some p*ssy 🤷🏻♂️🙈
The v-rexes have been forced into a very concentrated and tiny area due to the island slowly sinking. This resulted in them becoming inbred and having mental issues. Plus the ever-shrinking island and it's diminishing prey items meant the V-rexes had no choice but to fight to the death for any tiny scraps of meat. They had to become unnaturally aggressive to survive an island that was in the process of killing them.
For me the best movie scene/fight ever . Gives me goosbumps . Damn !
Better than every fight in the new Monsterverse.
Freaking enjoyed this movie. Naomi Watts' ability to convey absolute terror and trembling within a scene of predominantly CGI characters who are gigantic carnivorous beasts is truly amazing. Not once did her performance seem unauthentic at any point and I'm baffled how she was able to do that. It's a testament to her talent. That being said it's rather strange that 3 tyrannosaur's would attack and fight over Anne, seeing how she's literally only bite sized.
Probably because Kong cares for her so to eat her it’s to destroy his title of king of skull island
calm down.

One of the truly great actresses of all time.
I really love how close that last 1 vs 1 was. The V-Rex almost got him and clearly shows how these species are rivals
Bro what?😭 he had the v-Rex pinned to the ground and overpowering him within the first 10 seconds lol. The only reason kong was struggling? was because the v-Rex was moving a whole lot.
@@Aesir947 It was a joke. I was always upset with the fact that the Vrexes were no challenge for Kong at all haha.
@@rebellikan9891 oh lol, yeah and he beat them with one hand, pretty impressive for a little ape.
@@rebellikan9891 para nd mostró Kong tanta superioridad ala v rex si al final no pudo los avionetas q lo asesinaron 🤷
honestly if I could change anything about the fight id put 5-7 v-rexes and have kong lose a finger and/or hand and get his arms and leg's injured a little
this CGI was absolutely incredible when it first came out, and it still holds up today. the only thing that is a little off is the CGI used to place Ann into Kong's fist. it looks a little like she’s just dropped in with photoshop, cut and pasted from other footage (which is of course what they did, but it looks a bit obvious). i think it's the lighting that's throwing me off, and the fact that her editing in is a bit too simple: up/down, left/right, big/small to show distance are all used, but rotational motion seems to be lacking a small bit. also she is a bit too in focus for where she appears in her surroundings. still, for a movie that came out nearly twenty years ago now, this was better than anything else by leaps and bounds and _still is_ better than many CGI sequences today! what a fantastic job Jackson and this team did.
Wow! Legend!

There will NEVER be a better scene than this made by AI in King Kong. Absolutely phenomenal PERFECT King Kong scene
Remember there were so many talented animators putting insane amount of effort behind this massive CGI creature fight.
The movie is released 18 years ago and still one of the best movies off all time
And this is the most successful king kong film
the most successful kaiju film even to this day
The special effects in this movie are amazing for 2005 and look better than some modern CGI in movies now. It's so very well done!

In my opinion this is the best long movie that’s been made. It has everything the great cgi, the amazing action, some aspects of horror, great characters, great acting, emotionally charged scenes.
The stakes in this fight are generally some of the highest I've ever seen on a screen
How she stayed alive is honestly amazing
The brilliance of peter Jackson ❤️🔥 this movie is so underrated in many ways
Great movie. I love the monsterverse cuz big monsters fighting is fun entertainment. But this King Kong (the real king kong story) is amazing and a beautiful tribute to the original.
One of a kind movie!
Absolute MASTERPIECE!
I remember seeing this movie in theaters 17 years ago during Christmas break and I absolutely loved it. Peter Jackson did a fantastic job directing this movie.
i remember i saw this one with my dad on 26th december, we were the only two guys in the theater
Yes he did!!! I remember seeing this on Christmas break too!!!! Probably one of the best theatre experiences I’ve ever had. Phenomenal film!
@@manuel_nardella_1995 I saw it on the 20th of December with my dad sis and grandma. There were more people in the theater and I remember everyone in the theater being so excited and when kong died in the end no one said a single word. And I was only 10 years old.
@@SuperMessiah123 I absolutely agree with you . This movie changed my entire childhood. Every kid in my school couldn’t stop talking about it and neither could I. The dinosaurs and kong himself are so well done .

God, this fight is still so terrifying. That poor trex at the end, helplessly struggling as it's jaws are pried open. The way it cries out in horror. Always hated seeing animals/monsters getting killed this way😢
