  • RANKING The BEST Online Silver and Gold Dealers BEST to WORST is a video where I review several key online precious metals dealers and rank them based on a range of criteria. While this ranking is just my opinion, I base this off of 15 years stacking experience and 4 years of experience buying and selling silver and gold products as a dealer. While many may disagree with some of my choices in this video, these picks are subject to change as the precious metals market is dynamic and constantly shifting.

      I think that Apmex has hands down the best selection. Over the last 2-3 years their prices are getting out of hand. I think that they are such a large operation and that the extra cost is unavoidable, probably overhead. Never had a problem with customer service from them. They actually cut the price of an item that was slightly blemished. I have been buying more from Bullion Exchanges lately because of their better prices, and yes they take a long time to ship relatively, but as long as you can lock in a good price it's worth the wait. Don't have a lot to say about Gov Mint except their prices suck. Used to buy quite a bit from Provident Metals, but their prices were less competitive after they were bought out, also when I tried to sell rounds and bars with their moniker to another dealer I got dinged a dollar under spot because they supposedly got dropped from the COMEX. I have to say your appraisal of these companies are fairly consistent with what I experienced. Thanks for your assessment.

    I would have put SD Bullion and Monument Metals in the money category. Monument metals always have decent prices, super fast shipping, and their customer service has been incredible for me. SD, while not usually the cheapest, does have a price match policy that I have used twice with a customer service representative over the phone, and the process was amazing. Their price match policy is highly underrated, but it does require you to call in and speak to someone.

      On my last order from SD the shipment was diverted from Federal Express to FEDEX Ground which added four days shipping time. The strange part was the truck delivering the package to Federal Express drove by my house. Then the truck going to FEDEX Ground drove by my house. SD was sent a message saying even through they were paying for express service they were getting ground delivery.

    3 places I never shop.
    1. APMEX
    2. Money Metals Exchange
    3. Bullion Max
    Honorable mention: SD Bullion is one I rarely shop at, unless they have spot deals, which is only about 3 or 4 times a year. The reason is their spot prices are always well over the Kitco price, so your never actually getting anything at spot even when they have the deals, but they have some decent sales regardless of their higher chart prices.

      @leefury7 high prices. Shipping is great, but you pay for it, even if it says it's free. Their premiums are just terrible on most everything. Occasionally, they have a decent deal, and I might pick something up when they send me a $10 coupon, but I never look there when I'm looking to buy any quantity.

    • @leefury7
      @leefury7 Рік тому

      @@lukef5370 Well shipping 32 pounds of product can't be cheap so ya, I get that shipping is figured into the cost. That's just the price of business. But if the only thing you have against them is price then to list them as a place to "never shop" is a bit harsh. And their prices are all that much different than anyone else. I like the fact that they test each and every thing they ship out. I don't have to worry about ever getting anything fake. Often I don't even open the shipping box. I just store it as it was shipped.

    I would move Apmex and SD Bullion down to meh because of their prices are too high. I have bought most of my metals from Monument and Bullion Exchanges. I have also found some decent deals on Hero Bullion. Pimbex has had some really good deals but they are somewhat limited on their selection. They currently have Silver Krugerrands at a cheaper price than most sites have for rounds.

    My first order with Provident was for random 1 oz rounds. It was 25.99ea. A couple days later after the spot price dropped those same rounds are now showing $27.61ea. Do these dealers price lower for 1st time buyers and then raise up after you create an account and place an order? I've heard airline prices will go up on people when they delay buying tickets and you need to clear out cookies or use a VPN to stop that. Just curious if anybody else has noticed this.

    I have five that I research for every purchase to compare prices. But the key for me is to SIGN UP for the relentless barrage of emails.... and then READ them... there are COMMON weekly sales for coins and rounds and bars. For example, Hero had goldbacks a full dollar less for EACH "Utah 1". Plus, I recently included PIMBEX to my list. Oh, when you sign up your email with any, you commonly get a 'first time buyer super discount' of some sort (like NO premium). The temptation is REAL! Be sure to have $300 bucks ready to spend to take full advantage of the deals.

SD bullion had no desire to help me at all and used the "its bullion, dings don't matter" excuse but honestly who the hell would find a dinged up Britannia bar acceptable for the premiums we're paying? I frequently shop on the NZ mint page because I love to collect but I agree that their products are overpriced. I’ve had only one problem with my product being delivered damaged through no fault of the NZ Mint but rather customs.
    (The display boxes were damaged not the actual silver). I contacted the mint and they were very nice and willing to make things right for me! In that event, I learned that if you ordered from the NZ Mint that exceeds $700 then customs will imprison your package and make you pay extra fees to them in order to get your products. However, if it’s less that $700 then there are no additional fees from customs and they pass it on through. I live in Indiana and I always get my package from New Zealand in less than a week plus free shipping! (Despite over priced product) I always felt their customer service was excellent. However, because of the time difference, you may have to wait a day or a weekend for your response for their next business day

      Ugh, yep, that's exactly what happened to me. They essentially blackmail you to get your stuff freed from customs. This is why I no longer buy from LPM or NZMint. Too risky.

  • @brandons7272
    @brandons7272 Рік тому +3

    The reason why SD bullion says they are the lowest prices. It's because if you know about it you can call and have them do price matches! So what early they are the lowest price there is! You just have to take the time to call and make them do a price match. I'm 99.9 percent sure that's the way they do things maybe they call it a low price guarantee or something like that but yeah they will match anybody price so by definition that would be the lowest price correct? Kind of sucks that you have to do the extra work for it though but it is what it is. I mean I don't think you can expect them to go match some random price on eBay or anything but hopefully you wouldn't expect something like that

    I have not used all the dealers you have. APMEX spot on. They pissed me off but I use them for things I can't find anywhere else. Being a scientist and Serbian, I LOVE the Serbian Tesla coins. I have a collectable and a tube of each of the 6 years in my deep stack. I worked with Merritt there until they let her go because she was good to her customers. They gave me Scott. A liar and a nightmare. SD Bullion, has been cheaper than others but sometimes even APMEX beats their prices. They lost one of my shipments. It took them 1-2 months before they acknowledged I was entitled to a refund. I refused the refund and ordered something else. But not bad company, HERO Bullion. Spot on. total agreement. Some of the other stuff I get from my LCS or from auction (not the cheapest but I love the human interaction and supporting the people I like like you Stormy.

    I guess I live in the 1800s. E-check or physical checks are the least expensive way to buy. Speed isn't as important to me. I've used most of these businesses plus a few more not mentioned. Overall, I've had good experiences. I look for low prices, unique pieces at times, and low purchase prices for free shipping. (I'm a small bit buyer, and dealers influence other dealers on the minimum purchase for free shipping rates. I've seen a couple go up over recent years.) Not being a big buyer, I don't know enough to rank them. I do appreciate sales, which keeps me switching from one dealer to another. At least one company keeps track of the worth of your purchases over time, which is a nice feature. Interesting to hear your thoughts. (And I do hate to buy from the government mint directly, although that should be one of the best options.)

    As far as Apmex goes I order through my One Gold account and get their best tier pricing so I have no complaints.
    I've order for JM a hand full of times over the years and they're ok I guess and yes their pricing has increased over the years years 🤔
    If I may recommend a well priced and and timely shipping dealer it would be Liberty Coin in Huntington Beach ⛱️ CA.

    Not Too Shabby column looks a bit crowded. The only one I've dealt with in there is Monument Metals, seems like a fair enough ranking for what they are though. I haven't dealt with Hero Bullion, but I've also heard good things about them. What you said on SD Bullion I also know to be true, they are not the lowest price, Period. I'm also familiar with JM Bullion and Providence Metals, but haven't spent much time looking into them. Apmex should get knocked down into "Meh" just because of their prices. Can't really speak in the others, but I would like to see an updated video with any adjustments and some new names added, specifically Money Metals Exchange and Golden State Mint, and another I come across all the time on the internet, BGASC.

    • @SovereignCajun78

      Money Metals Exchange would probably end up in "Meh" right next to Apmex. I can say that because I've personally purchased lots of silver from MMX, or personally overpaid on lots of silver from them is more like it. Golden State Mint is my #1 go-to online shop now. I'm open-minded and would be curious to see other opinions on them.

    You should add one more category to be judged by, and that is PACKAGING.
    I have lost a few items to theft (in the mail, before it ever reached me), and that was due to the way J.M Bullion packaged their coins...loose, in a big box. The thief probably just shook the box, figuring out that there were coins inside. They ripped the corner open, and just slid out the coins.
    Now, I ONLY deal with APMEX. They aren’t the cheapest, but man, they package their coins second to none. I don’t worry about my coins being stolen by USPS or UPS before it even arrives at my door.
    The peace of mind I get with APMEX, knowing the packaging is extremely difficult to rip into and steal items, is absolutely priceless.
    Peace. 🐰💙🇺🇸🗽🎸🎶🤝✌️

I price compare with APMEX, JM, SD, Provident (which I'll drop, prices too high anyway), Monument, and PIMBEX (which you didn't review), but haven't yet looked at Bullion Exchange, Silver Gold Bullion, nor Bold of which I will take a look at.
