If I can get them, black ring airtites are my favourite. They keep the coin snug, eliminating rattle and possible wear and they show off the coin. I bought mine in large quantities from JP's Corner, with considerable savings due to volume.
Regarding soft 9999 coins, my dealer was going to send one of his Maples to be melted because it was bent but otherwise in good condition. I asked him to pass it to me and using only my fingers, I straightened it out. It was back to retail status.
    Have a Happy New Year.

I like keeping full tubes of silver and don't mess with them. I buy one extra coin for each tube series which I capsule for viewing. 10 oz bars I keep in the original sealed plastic, lcs prefers original wrap if I ever sale. Probably will capsules at least one of each series. They display so much better. The black trim rings highlights coins, especially gold coins. All gold gets capsuled.

Im curious what is the material composition of the coin cases you use. While browsing on amazon / ordering there. I notice some are labeled PVC despite product description saying no PVC. Then others not listing it but on the box that arrives it says its made of PVC and EVA. I thought PVC was not used for coin products anymore since PVC damages silver via that green discoloration. Do coin capsules follow the same rule as the sheets that PVC coin capsules are dangerous to your silver? My local coin shop did not seem to really know when I spoke to them today.

I even put my generic 10oz bars in them. Adds to the "dollar cost averaging" price, but I'm fussy about most of my stack. I used them for my 2oz gold pesos just so I don't lose the little devils! LOL... I like the black border to make the gold or silver POP. In a lot of cases a stacker or LCS will pay a little extra if they're not scratched, even though a lot o people claim it's all about the weight. I like "On Fire Guy". If I ever start putting my Junk silver into capsules, I'll look for an OCD 12 Step Meeting! Thanks for the info.

I know this video is a little bit older but I do not use foam rings on any of my coins...especially gold coins. I am not going to take a chance with the foam up against the coin for 10, 20, 30 years and hope there is no impact on the coin. Call me cautious I guess but there is no reason to have the foam touching the coin (expect that it may look better)...JMHO. Thanks 2 is 1.

This is an option I’ve never considered, always just leaving products in tubes, rubbing together. This is a good idea. 🤔 Guess I’ll go sell a few ounces of gold to finance some capsules. 🤣 $12 a pop!! Cheesenrice! Maybe a dealer would offer bulk discount?

I was at a coin show recently inquiring about capsules. When I pulled out a plastic "sheet" of 1/4oz eagles to show the dealers how I had them (original packaging), both dealers I spoke with encouraged me not to put them in capsules but to leave them in their original containers. Both said they'd give me more money for 'em if I left 'em in there. Now, as much as I like capsules and would like to use them, I store any purchases in their original containers, which is usually a plastic film with cardboard edges, with the receipt in a small craft bag, keeping that purchase together with itself. I still wish I had capsules for the sake of easier handling and storage, but hey, this works and I'm not the type to take 'em outta the safe for handling or viewing later. I buy 'em. I set 'em in there, and I forget about 'em for another day. A day that must eventually happen.

Anthony-replying late to this after your post, but I recommend the GearFend Dust Cleaner for $4.99 on Amazon. It’s intended for camera equipment, but it works nicely for blowing any microscopic debris out of your Air-Tites and off of the coins themselves.
-Additional bonuses are that my 7-year-old daughter loves blowing it in my face unexpectedly and I’ve deceived my wife into thinking that stacking is a serious hobby now that she’s witnessed me using a weird-looking device on my, excuse me-“our”--coins! 😂

Is there a gap between the upper and lower half for the gold maple? I couldn't tell from the video. It looks like the 30mm Air-Tite Direct Fit capsule is 2.03 mm deep and the 1oz gold maple is 2.80 thick. Can't seem to find which capsule is best for the 1oz gold maple. Great videos!
