Wow, thank you so much! :) you’re incredibly kind and I very much appreciate your comment. I absolutely try to be a voice, for the voiceless, and recognize where I excel. I remember being wheeled into the OR for one of my surgeries, and I was telling the nurses about my UA-cam channel and how I felt like I was going through my experiences because it was my responsibility to use them to help people. You help me recognize that I am doing exactly that. :) thank you again!
Hey Nate, “plumbing” problems are extremely scary. Last year I developed a bad infection that caused me to be unable to pee on my own. After months of having a Foley catheter and then having to self catheter, my body corrected itself and I am fine now. It is amazing what doctors can do now, I know you will get through this and things will be normal again. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.
Hi Nate, I had a similar ureteral issues since I was in 2nd grade. Lots of surgeries. Very painful when there is an obstruction. Surgery takes a while to recover from. I have no doubt you will get it all fixed and you can go on and live a great life. Sorry you have to go through it, but it will soon be just a memory. Best!
I bet you we had the same thing happen. The kinks in my ureters are usually something that develops in children. It just took its sweet time with me I guess lol but you’re right, it’s horrible. I’m sorry you had to endure that at such a young age. Here’s to a happy and healthy life for both of us!
I'm sorry for your pain , I hope you will be feeling better soon but don't apologize about the rain , it sounds great especially to people who don't don't get a lot of rain in their area
Your be fine baby. You got a lot of life to live here on earth. Do you know that by you sharing your story has given strength and faith overcoming a situation out of your hands. God is always in control. He will pull you through. Many others thank you as well. I will be following to see how things are going for you. Keep standing strong. We got your back.
Hope you will be okay in health. Life can be difficult & it's important to be positive & fight through adversity. I had major surgery done at 18. Thanks for sharing this & wish you all the best Nate ;)
I love that 🥹 mountains were created so tall because they’ve never been meant to be climbed in a single day. The view is meant to be enjoyed after the suffering. Thank you!
I’m doing great. I ended up having an enlarged prostate. It was very painful and had a very hard time pee’g. Also had blood in my urine which at one point was solid blood. So, I take a natural supplement (saw palmetto) and so far that’s worked for me!
so sorry bout your challenges. you are admirable for sharing your ordeal and you're right...each of us is going thru something or other and the world is a better place when we support one another. much love to you...
Nate, hang in there, this, too, will pass (pardon the pun), you have a great spirit in the video, and you have a bright outlook, hang onto that. And where are your friends? Maybe suggest that they should be beside you during any strife, family helps too. But know, there are people here watching and you wishing you the best.
I came across this video by accident. I am currently getting evaluated for a possible cancer. You really helped me. The hardest part is the uncertainty. One test looks bad and another suggests a benign lesion. I pray your surgery goes well and your kidneys completely recover.
I hope everything goes well for you, and I’m glad I was able to help you at least a little bit. :) this was 3 years ago, and my surgeries ended up going well, and I’ve since been living healthy. Keep me posted with everything! Stay healthy
Thanks so much for sharing your painful experience. I, too, underwent a Cystoscopy about two years ago. It was done in order to elimnate stones that had developed in my bladder. While the procedure was successful, like you I have to be careful about my diet going forward. I appreciate the help you have provided for me and others.
I hope your surgery provides the outcome you need. Remember that doing without something you want that with hurt you in the short term is not worth it. Even though it doesn't seem fair, you will find living a life without the extreme pain is worth it. Best of luck to you..
Hi, Nate - I accidently ran across your video, and I have to say that although you may feel your life has been turned upside down, your outlook is very inspiring. Sharing your story may help you, but it inspires us. And yes, we all go thru stuff in life, in varying degrees, of course, but we somehow get through it. I truly believe you'll get thru this hurdle and will live a long, healthy life. I hope you keep us updated and I truly wish you all the best!
Thank you so much! :) I’ve been able to cope and grow from the experience. It’s the experiences in life that build us as humans and I’m grateful to have my health, and lucky to have the experience. Even though it was a bad one. I appreciate you!
You are a strong young man, especially for candidly sharing your journey. I am days away from heart surgery (am generations older than you) and experiencing some anxiety. It quelled considerably after watching your video. It pains me that one so young should be dealing with a health situation. I have been fortunate throughout my life to have been in good health. I hope your health issues will decrease to zero if they haven’t already. Sending best wishes and positive thoughts your way.
I wish you all the best of luck with your surgery. I hope everything works out and that you’re able to heal quickly. ❤️ let me know how it goes! I also agree that I’m too young to experience the things I’ve gone through, but life has no written journey, it’s just life! Stay safe! :)
I wish you the very best of health in your near future, just look to the future and realise there are people who have chronic illnesses that see no great future. You I know will definitely recover. Lee
I absolutely recognize where I’m lucky and am grateful I was able to heal/recover. It was very difficult for me to go through because I’ve never gone through something so excruciatingly painful. I’m in a better health state, as of now, and I’m lucky to be able to say this is all in the past.
I’m sorry to hear this…I know you’re hearing it over and over, but it’s very true you have the added benefit of being young. Hang in there, I know you’ll be taken care of… the rain and thunder seems like a blessing. God bless you. Be well and stay safe. Alex from LA 💙🙏
Nate Boi: Join the club of non-drinkers due to ailments. March 10th of this year I too had a stint put in to correct a different medical problem (had lost about 2/3 of my blood). You and i live at a time and in a place when medical procedures are very advanced. God, you, the doctors and those of us subscribers are on your team. We got this. Reach out to any of your subscribers anytime my friend--including me.
Exactly, i joined the club too when I started having heart issues, as well as a heart surgery. Since quitting drinking, my heart is definitely happier (our organs really hate alcohol lol)
I totally get it.. I'm a bit older but went through something similar. It is so hard, and I feel sorry you had to go through this. You have support by a lot of people on this channel.
I’m sorry you’ve had to go through something similar. ❤️ it’s extremely difficult justifying why things like this happen to us. I’m proud of you for making it through it! 😁❤️
I am so sorry for your journey. Even though I am alot older than you, I had to go thru 4 surgeries this year and understand the alcohol factor ! Best of luck and Get Well !
Thank you for your video. It's just a reminder to always be kind to one another, because you never know what someone is going through. Thanks again Nate!
Hey Nate how are you doing since this video pray that's you're well you such a handsome young man sorry to see you going through this stay positive my man❤❤
HI Nate. I just saw your channel for the first time and watched your coming out video and this one. You're obviously a genuine and decent person and I will watch more of your videos, but meanwhile want to say I hope you are doing well three years on. Best wishes from Vancouver Island on the west coast.
Thank you so much! :) I appreciate your attention and comment! I have been able to heal and cope with everything I’ve dealt with. It’s tough, but such is life. Thanks again! ❤️
Thank you! This was 3 years ago, and since I’ve been healthy! :) I have a “kidney surgeries explained” video where I go more in depth into the situation! It’s on my channel :)
So sorry you are having these problems. We tend to make things in our mind much bigger than they turn out to be in reality. Long-term I'm sure you'll be able to drink and will most likely fully recover. You're very handsome and have a beautiful smile. You seem like a very genuine and lovable type person. Try to stay positive and remember that things could always be much worse. Many years of health and happiness to you and thanks for sharing your story.
I agree, things could always be worse. But on the flip, things could always be better! Life is full of ups and downs. I’m grateful for my life and my experiences! I appreciate you and your compliments ❤️
For some reason this popped up in my feeds, and I'm glad of it. I'm happy to see in your more recent vids that you are doing better now. You seem like a really sweet guy, plus you're out and a cat lover. So here's wishing you all the best for the future. Liked and subscribed.
hang in there ,,i just had lower back surgery and need another one after this one heals ,,,,can hardly walk and i am a active person ,,, so sending prayers from Barefoot bay ,,florida ♥🙏🙏🙏
It’s incredibly hard to change your life style for the better of your health. :( I hope you heal quickly and safely and are back to being active real soon! Good luck. Keep me posted!
My dad had colon cancer so my doctors stay on top of everything checking me out with also included a Cystoscopy. 😵😖 Those are awful! The worst part is not knowing what’s going on so luckily you now know going through it sucks but at least there is a plan to make you all better. All the best!
Thank you! Yes, knowing what’s wrong brings a lot of validation. Medical situations are the worst :( they’re so stressful. I wish the best for y’all as well! ❤️
Be grateful Nate that there are surgical procedures that can address your medical issues. So, try not to worry because it sounds like your doctor(s) are knowledgable & have given you sound advice. I will keep you in my prayers. Lots of ❤️ Timothy 🌞🌴
It was absolutely difficult for me to go through everything I was going through. When I was in the hospital going through the processes, I was able to get through it by disconnecting from reality because I knew I was in great hands. I’m definitely lucky
@@NateLawlor , You were blessed with task & opportunities to Carry out these callings. I have lived with 34+ years with HIV/AIDS. I wanted to know to how long? My doctor said, no longer than 1993. There were no effective meds & I watched everyone I knew living with AIDS die. The Meds push me into Kidney failure Stage-3B, then I developed Epilepsy with both Major & Minor Seizures, the worst thing that is ever present: Pain, I feel like a pig over a fire roasting & many times added onto that is the feeling of beingstabbed with a Icepick over & over & over… again. My mandatory cocktail of meds & supplements is 50+ pills everyday must be taken & drink 96 oz of Gatorade everyday. The meds dry me out my head the floor. It took a little while, but I surrender to the wood floor, I got up went straight to the bathroom & my head hit the ceramic tile……. I immediately surrendered to the ceramic tile. True story. Life comes with hardships & suffer, there are lessons; especially, during big life health issues. Know that there are many who are praying for you. There is a light that shines within, know that you are loved, Timothy 🌞🌴
Heyb Nate, I know exactly how you feel. I’m going through the same thing right now I’ve been scoped a few times. But, they had to be careful with me. Besides the kidney problems, I have copd. The drs. Are afraid to put me under. They want to make sure I can come back. You have a beautiful smile. You look very pleasant smile. Also, I didn’t mention the fact I’m a little over 70 yrs. of age. I bet you’ll go through this crappy thing as slick as easy. Talk to your doc about (near) beer. Tastes the same and the bottles look the same as the real thing. Take care of yourself and you’ll get better. Lots of love Rik Richard Hinkle of California. P.s. I believe they have wine also. Bye bye…
I’m not crazy about non alcoholic beers, but non alcoholic wines would be good for me because I love the taste of wine. Especially a red wine with steak. I’m sorry to hear you’re going through something similar. :( it’s not fun and it’s definitely very uncomfortable and painful. I hope things improve for you ❤️ this was in 2020, so I’ve been able to heal and grow since I uploaded this :)
I've had 2 cisyscopys done due to old age peeing problems, not fun. Diagnosis was overactive bladder. No cure, lifelong medicine now. I gave up my beer 2 years ago. After 60 years of drinking it, was hard at first but now don't even think about it. But being younger like you, i can undersrand how hard it would be. I hope now, 3vyears later you are doing Great! Best of luck to you
Wow I’m proud of you for that! Anything involving your bladder is extremely brutal to go through. May your days be filled with more progress and healthy moments!
The procedure you had is called a _cystoscopy._ Common Causes of Overactive Bladder: Neurological disorders. Poor kidney function. Acute urinary tract infections. Bladder stones. Bladder cancer. High fluid intake. Bladder obstruction. Enlarged prostate (BPH).
@@NateLawlor I know. I had one last year in a doctor's office under a local anesthetic (lidocaine). My exam only went as far as the bladder, not to the ureters. As soon as you mentioned back pain on one side, I suspected you were having a kidney problem. You're too young and too beautiful for this to be happening!
I’ve had seven cystoscopy’s! I had two without anesthetic because they were removing stents I had. I agree that I’m too young for this! The issue I was dealing with was a developmental issue, that’s since been corrected. I always explain to people that if you’re back, on an isolated side, is aching, then it’s probably your kidneys! @@herrickinman9303
Hi Nate, thank you for sharing your thoughts and letting us know how you're doing. This experience will definitely make you stronger, and heighten your awareness as to what your body is telling you. Also, you are educating others by sharing your ordeal. Take care! 🙂
You got a wake up call. No life isn’t fair. Just be glad it wasn’t cancer. My cousin died of it. You will most likely be fine. Get the surgery and go on with your life. Take care of your diet. It will be essential that you do. Drinking isn’t something you need to do. Your kidneys are a must to live. Take care of them.
How rude it is to tell someone going through medical complications that what they’re going to isn’t life threatening and that they shouldn’t be complaining. Cant relate.
This last year I had several kidney stones. The largest was 14mm. That’s as big as spikey/spindly marble. Afterwards, for a few weeks I had to have a stent in both ureters. OMG. That was the most uncomfortable time ever, I was instantly turned into a walking 90 year from the continued pain, I was hunched over. But it has to be done. About 15 years earlier I had a TV camera shoved up/down there which found a polyp, in the urethra in the prostate. It was almost like a thanksgiving turducken. Then this year, the 4 large marble sized stones/crystals showed up. They obliterated the largest one by ultrasonics, but they never flushed out and left me with a 14mm sand mass. I’ll wait until it becomes critical again before taking those out and then having to wear those stents again.
@@thomasford9283 you had a much worse situation with kidney stones than I ever had. Mine were sizeable but caused little pain. I passed them and that was it.
Nate, you look healthy. No one would guess what you struggle with. Glad you can talk about it. I found out several years ago that I had kidney cancer and now deal with only one kidney. Luckily I am not a drinker. Many have hidden struggles. Glad you are dealing well.
Thank you for your post. You're way too young to be going through this! You put my problems and fears with my upcoming surgery in perspective. I hope and pray that you're going to be fine. I haven't had a drink in 20 years. I don't miss it and either will you. God bless. 😁
Hi Nate. Oh to be young again. This video has come years later after you filmed it. Nov 14 2023. In my 56th year, now, I started seeing blood in my urine as well. I'd never had that issue. I was scheduled for a cystoscopy, like you. I was just mortified with the whole scenario, seeing there were a bunch of women in the room, one male nurse and my doctor !! The ladies just giggled at me. So the camera went in, and they found that I was not emptying urine normally, and that I had peed before hand, but when they went in, my bladder was still half full. The muscle behind my prostate was swollen, not allowing for proper function. I did not have prostate cancer or anything like that (Thank the Baby Jesus). They put me on Flomax to correct the problem, and today, I dropped my 6th month urine samples to the lab earlier this morning. You know not drinking alcohol is NOT the end of the world. I haven't had a drink in 22 years now, because I just can't have ONE. We all grow up, and maybe a medical scare will get you thinking about always taking care of your body, and not abusing it with substance, and taking it for granted. We only have this one body and if it craps out, you are a dead boy walking young man !! Been where you have been take care of you now.
Seeing blood in your urine is the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced. Truthfully, I hope you’re ok and doing ok. :( I admire you not drinking for over 20 years! I’m proud of you for that, but I’m now 26, and, still, so young. I also had a similar experience with dr’s being in the office and not taking things seriously. I understand that to them, it’s their job, but to me, it’s my life. :( I had a nurse who had me clean my penis, because of my catheter, and she gave me 0 privacy. She made me feel like a piece of meat, and not a human. :( which is so sad. I appreciate your comment and hope you are on a track to be better. ❤️
I don't know why UA-cam recommended you to me this morning, but i am sure glad it did. Your video was cathartic to watch. I feel so blessed to get to see your absolutely beautiful face and hear your heartfelt story. I know its been a few years, but I trust your life has gone good since posting this. I guess I'm gonna have to binge watch the rest of your videos to catch up.
I’m glad you’re here to see a piece of my life and take something from it! :) after this video I had 3 separate surgeries. My last one was in March 2021, and since I’ve been healthy! I appreciate you and your kind words ❤️
@@NateLawlor Ahh - awesome man. Thanks for the reply. And its great to hear that you seem to be doing well. I don't know if we will ever get the chance to meet in person in this life, but if not - its been grand getting to have even this small and wholesome interaction. I hope you can go on living an amazing life you beautiful man you! ☺
I feel for you but I am 76 and I have never had a drink in my life. It can be done. I hope your next surgery goes well and I'm glad the Drs can help you. Take care.
Well done, you, for noticing something and asking for help. I hope you get well, soon. K. Twisted downstairs pipes can't be spotted from the outside. You only have, on average, 8 pints of blood to play with, down to 4, you will pass out. Well done doctor for spotting the problem!
Hi Nate, I want you to know that I know how hard it is to go through this kind of pain and lifestyle change. My situation is that I need a kidney transplant. I'm currently on dialysis and fearful of the new rules with a new kidney and all of that. I totally get it because I've been there, especially with the pain. Try to be as good as you possibly can to your kidneys through proper diet, exercise, and prayer/meditation helps with anxiety /depression. Please be good to yourself. Peace always!
Wow, I’m so sorry to hear that you’re going through that. :( I’ll be thinking about you a lot and hope your body is able to accept the help it needs. I’m a major advocate for meditation and self love! We’re only humans. Much love to you ❤️
Not to make light of your current medical trials (my best wishes go out to you in hopes of a complete recovery), but your bad reaction to alcohol unavoidably reminded me of a certain decades-old pop-culture reference. When I was little, Rod Serling's _The Twilight Zone_ TV show (1959 through the early 60s) was generally considered too "adult" and scary for me to watch, though towards the end of its run I had the occasional opportunity to sneak in an episode (my favorite from that era was -- and is -- "Number Twelve Looks Just Like You" ;-> ). In the mid-80s, when I was grown up, the series had a short-lived reboot, generally not considered as successful as the original show, but still with some memorable episodes. The one that your dilemma with alcohol reminded me of is "The Hellgramite Method": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hellgramite_Method You might conceivably get some wry entertainment out of watching it. Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/y71ukBPP8xM/v-deo.html Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/Hq1lIst5tdg/v-deo.html Please take care of yourself.
I also had a blocked ureter and had to have surgery on the right side about 15 years ago. I still have kidney stones and I have to have them pulled Monday.
@NateLawlor that week when I got the stones pulled, was very uncomfortable until I got the stent removed that week Friday, now I'm fully healed from that
I gad the same ptoblem but my stones were flatt ones couldnt pass . But my kidneys were so swollen i had to ware a nufrostomy bag which drained my kidneys swelling. When i did have surgery it took the doctor 4 hrs w a lasser to break down the stone so i could pass the fragments.
Wow I’m so sorry you had to go through that. :( my doctor gave me the option of a stent, or a nephrostomy tube, but I chose the stent. I chose that because it felt less invasive and easier for me to deal with. :( I admire your strength. I hope you’re ok now
i went thru some of the same. I went to doc they did a scan of my left kidney and said I have cancer in it. It will have to come out. On the operating table they were during a laparoscopy. 3 holes, camera and the 2 tools. The growth was so large they had to cut me open. Another 1/2 hour. I went back the the doc after. He said i was unusual??? He said there was no cancer just a big growth. Lucky me. He had me scared. so i doing well my other kidney they say is doing extremely well. So hopefully that all for today. At 75 i can't expect something else my happen. hope things work out for you like they did for me.
That must’ve been scary to deal with. Mine was laprospic as well, but I’m really glad to hear it wasn’t cancerous! I’m also glad your other kidney is doing great. So far I’ve been healthy, but medical things love to surprise us. Keep staying healthy my friend!
I didn’t physically have kidney stones, but I did have pains as if I developed kidney stones. So because of that I could understand the severity of stones. They’re NOT fun. I also appreciate you ❤️
Many people can’t drink alcohol for a variety of reasons. Many people avoid alcohol because of religious reasons (Muslims, Mormons). Recovering alcoholics are saved from disasters by sobriety. So glad you’re recovering from your illness.😊
Chin up nate hope all goes i took ill last year spent 22 weeks in hospital i found my penis had retracted inwards and became awkward peeing still having problems gòod luck xx
So, they fix the left side. And then they wait, while you're still in pain from the right, until the left side is seriously damaged, before they schedule you for the right side. And then put you on dialysis for how long??????............
They originally fixed my left side, with the idea that the right side may become a problem in the future. It ended up being a problem much sooner than we expected. But it became extremely problematic with our doctors and insurance. It was a lot to deal with 😅
@@NateLawlor Hi Nate! Sincerely sorry to hear about your "Extremely problematic situation with you Doctors/Insurance. Being Canadian, I tend to forget the $$$$$ equation involved in your medical practices in the States. But still, I do hope that your particular condition gets resolved SOON, before other "problems in the future" show up "sooner then they expected".🙃
The way America deals with medical situations is borderline enough to make me move to a more accepting country. This video was in 2020, and I needed 3 surgeries after I uploaded this. :( I put up a “my kidney surgeries explained” video where I sum up my whole experience, and I really got screwed because of medical insurance and everything that comes with it. It’s disgusting the way this country views profit over their civilians. :/
Welcome to to booze free brigade. I had to chuck the drink because of ulcerative colitis. Trust me, the pain you're going through strengthens you in the long term
I absolutely agree. Since my last surgery I’ve been able to consume alcohol, but cutting something out of your life that you truly enjoy, genuinely sucks.
Who knows why in irs infinite wisdom the YT algorithm brought me here but I am relieved to see that the video is 3 yrs. old and that you are doing well now. It sounds like you've been through a lot. Would you mind sharing the EXACT name of the disease you were told you have...not an English descriptive but the precise medical name of the disease...the name that would be found in the index of a medical or surgical textbook? It will be in your hospital record's discharge summaries and (hopefully) in your doctor's office record. His office can email you a copy of your discharge summaries, if you don't already have them. And if you used any major hospital, they will likely have created a patient portal for you with which you can access much of your hospital data.
I don’t know exactly what it was called, but my doctor said it’s something that usually develops in kids, but for some reason developed later in my life. I had 7 cystoscopies, and 2 pyeloplasty’s (one on each side). If I’m able to find exactly what my dr said it was, I will respond. 👍🏼 I believe he said it was something with a p, but I truly don’t remember. It’s been a few years now. I appreciate you! :)
@@NateLawlor For your own welfare at least, you really must know the exact name of your disease. So, write it down and carry it with you. If you ever wind up in an ER, or are otherwise seen urgently by a doctor, he must know. Include the EXACT name with the emergency info. on your phone, too. A good ER will always look for it. If you have a complex past history, NEVER go to a small hospital for anything....always a large, major teaching/university hospital. Good luck and hope you are doing well.
@@NateLawlor Incidentally, my guess is that you have/had hydronephrosis but it's the cause that's important. If you had pyeloplasties, include that with your emergency medical info and any allergies you have, with meds., etc. Very important. Again, good luck.
Oh hun.i know what your talking about I've been passing stones everywhere if not everyday. I've had all the surgeries to fix it but nothing is helping. I hope the surgery works for you. It didn't work for me.
Cramps? I genuinely used to classify them as cramps, because that’s what they felt like, but they were crippling. And I have a high pain tolerance. They were WAY worse than just cramps, but I never thought they’d be anything worse than, so I just assumed they were “cramps”. They were not lmao they were my kidneys and the pain in in your lower back, on your right, or left side (both sides if it’s both your kidneys) and it feels like someone’s stabbing you and twisting the knife. It sucks
I have absolutely dove into this question and I do a lot of self reflection. When I was going into operating room for my 2nd or 3rd surgery, I was telling the nurses that I felt like all of this was happening to me so I can use it to help people. My strength and positivity are power. I appreciate your comment

It’s not fun at all. I’m sorry you had to go through something medical. :( how are you doing now?
I’m doing great. I ended up having an enlarged prostate. It was very painful and had a very hard time pee’g. Also had blood in my urine which at one point was solid blood. So, I take a natural supplement (saw palmetto) and so far that’s worked for me!
Your awesome. You referring to your Left Kidney as “her” is so cute!!! Please stay healthy.
so sorry bout your challenges. you are admirable for sharing your ordeal and you're right...each of us is going thru something or other and the world is a better place when we support one another. much love to you...
Thank you! ❤️ we’re all just humans trying to survive on this rock, we call earth. Thank you for watching! :)
Thank you so much! :) since going through everything, I’ve had all the support I’ve needed! Friends and family were there for me. ❤️
You'll be fine, you're young. Maybe you'll snag you a hot doctor while you're there !
Stay healthy
....hope you had a succesfull treatment! Wish a full recovery and for you to enjoy your life with no serious restrictions nor pain!
Thank you so much! I was able to heal and be ok. ❤️
YOU ARE GORGEOUS ! I WILL PRAY FOR YOU TO BE WONDERFULLY WELL !
Thank you!! 🥹
Stay safe! :)
Nate, I’m going through hell with my right kidney. I feel you and pray this is the last problem you have. Hugs and a kiss on the forehead my friend.
I’m sorry you have to deal with that :( I feel for you and wish you a quick recovery ❤️
You’re very strong, Nate. Very inspiring!
Thank you ❤️
I wish you the very best of health in your near future, just look to the future and realise there are people who have chronic illnesses that see no great future.
Thank you! I feel lucky to have my youth on my side. I appreciate your kindness ❤️
Hope you get well hopefully you will get better best wishes to you Nate
Thank you. ❤️
Yes, don't leave repeating pain alone. Act quickly.
It's been about three years since your surgery. I hope you healed well and both kidneys are doing their job!
So far they haven’t failed me! I’m hoping they continue doing their job! :)
Thanks for sharing, that shows courage. People need to know they can face and handle their problems. Good job Nate.
Thank you! I agree. I appreciate you :)
bless you-- i recently had my right kidney removed, so I can understand-- the best to you!
I wish you a quick and easy healing process! I’m sorry you had to go through that as well. You’re very strong and I’m proud of you. :)
You also get well! Surgery truly sucks. It’s scary every time and alcohol is like a toxic ex. You hate to love it hahaha get well ❤️
Thank you for your video. It's just a reminder to always be kind to one another, because you never know what someone is going through. Thanks again Nate!
Yes, of course! Life is tough and we’re all experiencing it at our own pace. ❤️
Hey Nate how are you doing since this video pray that's you're well you such a handsome young man sorry to see you going through this stay positive my man❤❤
Hey! I’m doing much better. I haven’t had any issues since my last surgery in March 2021! I appreciate you asking ❤️
@@NateLawlor Great news and my pleasure!
Best wishes for you Nate. You will be in my thoughts. Please keep us posted
Thank you! This was 3 years ago, and since I’ve been healthy! :) I have a “kidney surgeries explained” video where I go more in depth into the situation! It’s on my channel :)
@@NateLawlor HI Nate
I hope you are doing well. You are an inspiration and beacon to others. Know that you are being thought of..always
I do hope you get through this. It sucks I know hun hugs
Thank you! 🥺 I have been happy and healthy for a few months now! All of my medical issues are behind me :)
For some reason this popped up in my feeds, and I'm glad of it.
I'm happy to see in your more recent vids that you are doing better now.
You seem like a really sweet guy, plus you're out and a cat lover. So here's wishing you all the best for the future.

Nate, get through this and put it behind you. You are smart, articulate and very handsome. You can go far in your life.

The procedure you had is called a _cystoscopy._
Common Causes of Overactive Bladder:
Neurological disorders.
Poor kidney function.
Acute urinary tract infections.
Bladder stones.
Bladder cancer.
High fluid intake.
Bladder obstruction.
Enlarged prostate (BPH).
They are no fun to have done on you! They suck actually. Thanks for the info!@@herrickinman9303
Take care! 🙂
Thank you! I appreciate that. :) that’s all very true
I agree. I’m very sorry to hear about your cousin. I recognize I’m lucky to be alive. Stay healthy and well, my friend
How are you feeling now?
Nate, you look healthy. No one would guess what you struggle with. Glad you can talk about it.
I found out several years ago that I had kidney cancer and now deal with only one kidney. Luckily I am not a drinker. Many have hidden struggles. Glad you are dealing well.
I’m so sorry you have to deal with that. Kidney problems are actually insufferable. I hope you are doing ok
Living is better than ever. Live long. Good luck.
Absolutely. Thank you
That sucks :( Best of luck on your surgery Nate
Thank you for your post. You're way too young to be going through this! You put my problems and fears with my upcoming surgery in perspective. I hope and pray that you're going to be fine. I haven't had a drink in 20 years. I don't miss it and either will you. God bless. 😁
Surgery is scary. I hope everything goes ok for you, and I appreciate your comment! :) stay safe
Stay strong Nate, it must be quite depressing for you. But you have your who life ahead of you.
Well done, you, for noticing something and asking for help. I hope you get well, soon. K. Twisted downstairs pipes can't be spotted from the outside. You only have, on average, 8 pints of blood to play with, down to 4, you will pass out. Well done doctor for spotting the problem!
You’re an amazing person!
Nate I hope everything goes well!
Hang in there.

Much love to you ❤️
I hope you are ok, Nate. You are a lovely boy.
Thank you! I am much better now
Not to make light of your current medical trials (my best
wishes go out to you in hopes of a complete recovery), but
your bad reaction to alcohol unavoidably reminded me of a
certain decades-old pop-culture reference.
When I was little, Rod Serling's _The Twilight Zone_ TV show
(1959 through the early 60s) was generally considered too
"adult" and scary for me to watch, though towards the end of
its run I had the occasional opportunity to sneak in an
episode (my favorite from that era was -- and is -- "Number
Twelve Looks Just Like You" ;-> ).
In the mid-80s, when I was grown up, the series had a short-lived
reboot, generally not considered as successful as the original
show, but still with some memorable episodes.
The one that your dilemma with alcohol reminded me of is
"The Hellgramite Method":

You might conceivably get some wry entertainment out of watching
it.

Nate , l was wondering how you are doing now ? So sorry
For having to deal with this medical issue especially so young.
I’m doing much better now, thank you for asking! :)
I also had a blocked ureter and had to have surgery on the right side about 15 years ago. I still have kidney stones and I have to have them pulled Monday.
How did everything go? That sucks, I’m sorry you have to go through that. :(
@NateLawlor that week when I got the stones pulled, was very uncomfortable until I got the stent removed that week Friday, now I'm fully healed from that
Good, I’m glad to hear you’re passed that!@@markvolpe2305
I gad the same ptoblem but my stones were flatt ones couldnt pass . But my kidneys were so swollen i had to ware a nufrostomy bag which drained my kidneys swelling. When i did have surgery it took the doctor 4 hrs w a lasser to break down the stone so i could pass the fragments.
Wow I’m so sorry you had to go through that. :( my doctor gave me the option of a stent, or a nephrostomy tube, but I chose the stent. I chose that because it felt less invasive and easier for me to deal with. :( I admire your strength. I hope you’re ok now
Hi Nate. Much love to you. Your surgery will go well. Pardon the pun, but this, too shall pass.
My surgery did go well, and everything has passed. :)
Look on the bright side you're alive!
I’m grateful to be. :)
i went thru some of the same.

Can we have an update please? It’s been 3 years since the video was uploaded.
I could put together an update video! :)
Many people can’t drink alcohol for a variety of reasons. Many people avoid alcohol because of religious reasons (Muslims, Mormons). Recovering alcoholics are saved from disasters by sobriety. So glad you’re recovering from your illness.😊
I had kidney stones and was bad pain was in hospital 4 days l lost a Half kiddy but all ok now

Chin up nate hope all goes i took ill last year spent 22 weeks in hospital i found my penis had retracted inwards and became awkward peeing still having problems gòod luck xx
I couldn’t imagine. :/ I hope things change for the better for you!
Pain is a mean teacher. No you don't deserve it.
Curious as to why no wine?
The alcohol! It makes your kidney’s work overtime, so they produce more urine, and it dehydrates you.
I have ditabitic type 1 for 12 years
I’m sorry, I know how hard it is to live with diabetes. I’m proud of you
Welcome to to booze free brigade. I had to chuck the drink because of ulcerative colitis. Trust me, the pain you're going through strengthens you in the long term
I absolutely agree. Since my last surgery I’ve been able to consume alcohol, but cutting something out of your life that you truly enjoy, genuinely sucks.

Appreciate you!

Absolutely not 🙅🏻♂️ they’re so bad for you and people don’t realize it
craps cause vomiting?
It sucks
What is your purpose on this earth? Have you ever pondered this question? I hope your health improves.
I have absolutely dove into this question and I do a lot of self reflection. When I was going into operating room for my 2nd or 3rd surgery, I was telling the nurses that I felt like all of this was happening to me so I can use it to help people. My strength and positivity are power. I appreciate your comment
Nothings going on !!!!!!!
Not anymore because I had it taken care of :)
