Great video but as a long time resident of Las Vegas for over 13 years now, I still believe that Las Vegas needs to find a NEW home for the F1 other than the Las Vegas Blvd.
It’s 10 AM and I just woke up! 😅 Club Paris for Day 1 was so fun, I loved the sushi & charcuterie & hot chocolate & champagne - and oh yeah, go cars! 🏎️
The reason some were going slow is because it's just practice. Drivers are getting a feel for the track and conditions. Thursday is practice 1 and practice2. Friday night is practice 3 and then qualifying(drivers shoot for the fastest lap to determine starting position for the race). The actual race is Saturday night.
I'm the type of person who keeps getting annoyed each time Norma says "the race is about to start!" when it's just practice and the race doesn't happen for more than 24 hours after she posts this
Omg, Norma... "the second race is about to start!" 🤦♂and Lydia "Lewis Hamilton won!" - y'all, please at least make a minimal effort to understand the event you're covering. No races happened while you were there and nobody won anything. You were there for PRACTICE.
We just left today. It’s so bad. They still have law suits going on from last year. Like they say the rich get richer and small businesses suffer so much it’s a 💩show. Will not support this.
Great video, i enjoy living in Las Vegas for the last 14 years, and honestly if F1 and city of Las Vegas can not figure out how to take care of the small businesses impacted NEGATIVELY by lost revenue, I hope F1 NEVER comes back. We do not need our small businesses impacted to close their doors because of the GREED of F1 and City of LV. No matter how great the luxury of F1 and the glitz and glammer, Norma, I ask that you investigate the small businesses impacted. Go to them and ask them their thoughts of F1? Ask if they are going to be taken care of? I am asking becuase you show the cool side of F1, but there are ALOT of small businesses hit hard losing business, no customer traffic because of F1. I honestly think showing the FULL IMPACT F1 would be a great video(s) for you to share as well. Positive note, made the casinos richer lol
I know so many people who now avoid the strip during this time of year when it used to be one of the best times to go. I went after F1 last year and the strip was an absolute mess. I cannot support corporate interest being put ahead of the needs to every day people in the area.
hearing protection is a must have for any motor sports event. simple foam plugs are very effective and inexpensive at drug stores , select by decibel rating.
They're V6's nowadays. No comparison to the V10 and V12 engines of old days. And at spectator distances, the noise isn't too bad. If you're watching drag racing though, definitely wear some ear pro 😂
It was SO cold on the bleachers last night-I’ll be better prepared tonight LOL I have 3 day tix but will definitely consider Paris next year- I liked the 3 different level you had , food, drinks & heat! 😂. Great video!
I was there last month for my anniversary and was a little upset about the Bellagio Fountains being blocked by those suites. Fortunately, we had dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, so pretty good view. But the setup for the race is impressive.
Thank you Norma and Lydia for showing us Day 1 of Formula 1. The food looked great. Not into racing but may need to check it out next year. Surprised by that because I swore I wouldn't visit LV until after the race as long as it is there.😂
I was in Vegas last week for an event and the construction, road detours, and traffic because of F1 was the only downside. Wish they would have the track somewhere else that's not on the strip. It is inconveniencing thousands in the weeks/months leading up to it, and mostly those who can afford it are the ones who are able to enjoy watching it in person.
I really miss the opening ceremony from 2023. All the musical artists playing was the best part. The music and party was better than the race itself. I hope they bring that back in 2025.
Hi Norma I watch another You Tuber who travels to every race to photograph everything. He recently mentioned that the F1 people put that plastic view blocking stuff up all over the world so all the locals/fans of Las Vegas F 1 need to know that their not being singled out, F 1 appears to do it all over. BTW hope to run into you, I flew in from NJ to watch the race, great view from Cosmo balcony. Be well
Thanks Norma for showing us the overview of F1. It looked like you were having fun during day 1. Will you look the same by the end of day 3? There is always Sunday to rest up.
The contract is for 10 years, however, rumor is only the first 3 years are guaranteed to be held. The following 7 years are if F1 "elects" to run the race. F1 has spent A LOT of money on the pit area so most likely they'll elect to run it a few more times, perhaps all 10 to get good ROI. After the 10th running, well, the F1 teams and owners really aren't to fond of the track, hooplah, and running conditions of the race. It's possible they may duck out then with no further contract.... also possible before year 10 too but less likely.
@@BIGJATPSU aside from Wynn and maybe Venetian, i suspect everyone else is a loser. MGM top places do well but lower end places suffer. I was on Fremont Thur/Fri and it was totally dead. And of course everyone Trop to Sahara between strip and Paradise is ffff'd for 2 months/year.
Great video Norma, I been to the beer park twice when it was fairly new back in 2017/18. If I were to go, it would be the beer park deal like you guys did in this video. But when I was looking at it earlier this year, it was $1200 for 3 days food and drink included per person. I did not realize you can go to all the other places on property. That makes it even better. Did you use uber Lyft to get there, or did you drive yourself and paid parking somewhere. I am a local who lives in the Whitney Ranch area, 7/8 miles east of the strip. I am super close to Sam’s Town. So this is not too far from me. Great video.
Hi Norma it's Pat from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada 🇨🇦. Great video of last night. Wow expedited release.😱 Your hard work overnight is much appreciated 👍🤗
Last year's race was surprisingly good, better than I had expected. However, if I ever go to an F1 race, I'd prefer a purpose-built race track instead of a street circuit. I'd like to sit in a corner so I can see more action directly ahead of me, instead of on a straightaway having to snap my head left and right every 90 seconds. I wonder if the race ticket also includes the support races of F2, F3 and the all-female F1 Academy.
Do you think it’s better to Uber down this weekend or is there a parking garage available? We are Vegas residents and saw Fashion Show garage was about $80
Wow! Exciting! I could hardly hear you guys...I should have turned on closed caption...cc...and thanks for all the great tips for F1...I hope the city and casinos did better this time and didn't loose much! God bless the small businesses!!!
I saw part of the practice, on Thursday. On Jaycation channel. If you want to see an exciting race, check out Brazil race. I think that's the one that was in the rain. They stopped, at one point in the race, because of flooding. So many cars passing each other. During about the last 34 laps. It was Wow! time
The metal screen where put on the bridges for safety reasons in case there is a crash and bits off car hit the bridge. It the same at all the f1 race tracks all the bridges are enclosed
Hi Norma. as a huge F1 fan (Ferrari and Charles Leclerc) I love this video. The reason they covering the bridges is $$ $$ $$....This is a paid event and it would not be fair that people pay good $$ to watch the event while some watch free. What they need to do is just make the event more affordable but I understand 100% the reason to cover the bridges. I need to come one year to see this race live. Great Video Norma. Loved it. Thank you.
unlikely as you were not allowed to stand on the bridge and had to keep walking, so this makes it easier to control crowds and makes it safer also, they do this at all the tracks bridges around the world, amazed it wasnt like this last year.
The City of Las Vega and Formula One appear to be trapped a space time continuum. You need to find the portal to a reset switch, to reboot the universe. The keymaster must meet the gatekeeper.
No joke, those PLASTIC barriers must nearly be minor ballistic grade. Tap on them and you can tell they're not solid all the way through, but they have ZERO give and are not cheaply made. They may last until year 10 of the race. 🤯🤯
I have a place near Rio so you can consider me a local. F1 brings in an overseas group of fans who have a lot of money. Las Vegas has to bring in visitors who are younger to replace older visitors and they found the group. Drivers of F1 cars are in in their early 20's and make over a million dollars a year racing. This is the group that just love the party atmosphere Vegas is known worldwide for. Locals complain about losing money but the over billion dollars last year's race brought to the city ... trickles down to the locals in a few months. This is OUTSIDE money and it's fresh money.
@ lol I live in LA. Figured I’d go to yaamava casino and make win 500, I’d go to Vegas Thursday. Went Wednesday night and won 600 playing pai gow but didn’t get home til like 3am so got too lazy on Thursday to drive to Vegas. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it lol
I could be wrong but isn't the location and landmarks the point of the race being in LV. Without the strip is Vegas even a tourist destination or just desert.
Not only are you 100% correct . This entire facility could have been built at the existing LVMS Speedway which already has an existing road course , has far more parking would not affect the hotel and casino income at all because people still would have had to have stayed on the strip would not have inconvenienced locals or tourists for 3 months Nor would have caused the traffic nightmare that we've had for the past week. F1 is run by Liberty Media who are nothing what a bunch of elitist control freaks who don't want to be Associated or have any of their facilities near or on a NASCAR track. I've said it before and I've said it again as much as I have respect for the talent and the ability of F1 drivers the actual racing sucks there is no competition very little passing pretty much single file cars that Zoom by you that you can only see for a 10th of a second and without TV monitors most fans will be absolutely clueless as who is leading or which driver is doing what. I can understand elitist fans coming to F1 to see the technology and to be part of the party atmosphere which always goes on in Las Vegas regardless of what event we have here but this event is 100% a total rip-off and money grab for the hotels and casinos anybody who thinks otherwise is a total idiot what has a lot of money to burn. I am planning on attending the Daytona 500 in February and I plan on making a video to show you people what a real race is and my round trip airfare and my race ticket is going to be under $500 for 200 full laps of pack racing add 190 mph for most of 3 hours in the Florida Sunshine and unlike the idiots who buy tickets for Formula 1 I can see pretty much the entire track from where I'm sitting and know what's going on at all times and I know the drivers by their car numbers but you can't even see the driver's car numbers at Formula 1 because they're going so fast the Las Vegas race is 50 laps in the majority of people who come to this event are paying $1,000 to $3,000 including your room airfare and ticket for about one and a half hours of entertainment which comes at about $60 per lap. I can do my entire trip to Daytona as previously mentioned including airfare ticket and yes I would be staying at a friend who lives nearby but even with a hotel my cost per lap to watch Side by Side pack racing is going to be about $3 per lap. So who gets the better deal when it comes to racing obviously a Nascar fan I would never pay the money to be ripped off by Formula 1 elitist and the majority of people who attend tonight's event have elitist mentality. They will tell you how great the race is even though visually they only see the cars go by them for about 90 minutes and a split second at that. I know who the fools are when it comes to racing value and that would be F1 fans and I've been to every single form of racing on planet Earth from the 1960s all the way to now and I can assure you I know what I'm talking about I actually feel sad for the people who gets sucked into this event for 1,000 to $3,000😢😢😢. NASCAR is the better value and more family-oriented😀😀🤔🤔👍
Norma, Idk which one to be more upset with you about, getting an Team Red Bull jacket (Mercedes, McLaren, Ferrari would have been better) or you calling the two practices "races" 😂😂 But the reason some cars were going slower is because they were cooling the cars down before pitting and some cars might have been driving slower to move out the way for cars going full speed
its was great! Real fans appreciate the experience. The people that don't watch or have any idea what F1 is , will always complain. Entertainment capital of the world. Vegas Local here, im going all 3 days, every year.
I am a volunteer and would love to talk to you about formula one. I am located by Hell’s Kitchen. I have in a red jackets I could explain some of the things that you were confused about in the video.
Noooo not another F1 video. 😢 oh well. Ca g wait for next weeks video. Even though I don’t like it thank you for the work you put into this for those that do like F1
I don't know about F1, but your videos are getting better and better, which blows our mind as we thought you were great at the start. Network tv watch out, Norma is your competition.
I'm in the apartments right next to Koval. Signs say we cannot watch from our top floor for "safety reasons". You decide if this thing is elitist.
It is, totally financed by the elite and companies who just want global brand reach.
damn they block yall too lmfaoo
Time to avoid Las Vegas until all this is over.
Smart move this year not totally blocking The Bellagio Fountains. It was a great place to watch with access to the 3 places.

Yes but maybe not delayed
I hate F1 on the Strip in Las Vegas. They should have built a track out where they race NASCAR.
LOL That’s the whole point! To race on the Strip! Why would they build a track in the middle of nowhere?
I could be wrong but isn't the location and landmarks the point of the race being in LV. Without the strip is Vegas even a tourist destination or just desert.
Yes. Some are hoping it starts south of The Strip, next time. And, east from there
