Spell power hunter... met one in a dungeon once. Had lots of mage gear that I'm sure he pissed off some people to get. Makes Arcane Shot do a bunch of damage I think is the idea.
Ire my comment above. Only real way to do spellpower damage as a hunter is as melee spellpower, which is what I run. Have the rundown in an above comment. Arcane shot ranged spellpower is dead. It only scales 42%, so even at 500 spellpower it’s only gonna hit for 420 damage hit 900 crit...and you’ll do shit all other damage. Back in the day, arcane infused gem had a hidden passive that made arcane shot scale 100% all the time, but they patched it in 1.9, and now it’s only 100% on the in use shot, once every 2 min. As melee spellpower I regularly parse 600 dps though, and that’s without flask of supreme power or full world buffs.
Fire rogues, fire paladins, and healing rogues were a big thing back in the days of burning crusade on private servers due to bugs, you'd have fiery weapon or battlemaster procs and some items that did fire or arcane damage when hit or on hit that scaled with spellpower.
I'm leveling up with something similar to your rogue build but I actually took hemo, prep and dirty tricks before going down the combat tree, hemo+riposte is really good at getting damage in and the subtelty points + prep make it great at defending yourself on PVP realms and also lets you start fights using stealth without it feeling slow and awkward compared to going for combat swords. Garrote, rupture, hemo and SnD chew through most targets quickly and Prep lets you solo elites pretty easy specially if you can use crippling poison and your improved Gouge to kite for your Rupture to tick (boosted damage from Serrate Blades) or build up energy, you're also not tied to using swords like combat rogues so you can use slow 2.7-2.8 speed maces while most popular swords are around the 2.2-2.4 speed range. I would second that its a great leveling spec BUT only if youre playing in a PvP realm and youre going into sub before branching out to combat (respec from combat at around level 35 dont level up as sub pre-30) as its not going to blow combat away when it comes to solo content and its pretty weak for dungeons with a good amount of talent points going to waste, traditional combat swords is still easier to progress into your endgame raiding/dungeon build, Weapon Expertise makes all fights be very consistent by reducing the amount of dodge/parry/blocks and Adrenaline Rush still lets you take out plenty of tough targets so youre not missing out on much when it comes to leveling. Really the big edge you get going for the "Ghost" build is taking points into sub to improve your stealth and openers, having prep available along with a chance to get combo points when you dodge which turns evasion into a soft damage boost and will probably get you 1 or at best 2 extra CP's every now and then from dodging without evasion up.
Smite priest is actually absolutely insane. Don't believe metafags that force you to play frost mages up until AQ40, do what you want to do, do what you like.

MetaGoblin, PLEASE send me a message and have a chat with me. One build you never seem to mention, that I main, is melee spellpower Hunter. I dual wield ancient hakkari manslayers, hit cap, some spellpower, dmc maelstrom/HoJ, start with hero charm and FD trinket swap. Db chili, elixirs etc etc. even without flask I parse 500-600 dps. I have video clips of it, as well as parses, and would love to send them over and have you talk about this, as there is essentially no info on the modern iteration of this, and not to toot my own horn but im kind of a master of it now. Carl Benjamin Arndt serpent sting on the run in ONLY if the guild allows the debuff slot. From there feign death immolation/explosive trap (although I rarely even do this because of combat pulse aura so don’t even really worry about it). Then it’s literally just raptor strike and spam wing clip. Max rank wing clip for shorter fights/if consumables allow, otherwise down rank. If you have to move for mechanics then yea, throw in an arcane shot/Multi-Shot.....in fights like venoxis in zg, or Garr in MC, do the raptor strike/wing clip rotation on the boss, and weave multi shots on the adds since they’ll be tanked far away. Big dps increase there. If adds or cleave happen to proc mongoose bite then use it. TLDR: it’s a melee build. You are relying on melee weapon damage, enraged pet damage, and the crux of it is procs....weapon procs, db chili, shadow oil, all of which scale with spellpower, and then dark moon card maelstrom. Being able to spam a melee ability on global, and run dual wield gives you a LOT of procs since these are all % based, not proc per minute.
Hentai Mage you can watch the videos on my channel of both memestrike and hakkari manslayers dps. The “4%” proc chance as recorded on private servers is WAY off. Also memstrikes reported 10% is also way off. It’s more like 10-12% for manslayers and 14% for memestrike.

half expected full hybrid druid in this list, like the spec that allows you to just switch gear and do any role semi decently. obviously not as strong as more focused specs, but viable to just, switch to whatever your raid needs at whatever moment without having to get back out and go respecc. not that weird per se, but pretty weird that there's a spec that allows druid to fulfill all roles, instead of most hybrid specs just allowing 2 roles at most.
I've been playing Shaman tank on Classic and it's very solid. It takes more skill than Warrior or Druid, but it's completely viable if your group isn't stupid. They just need to replace the increase armor talent to allow you to use plate and Shamans could main tank everything like Druids, Warriors, and Paladins. It's also a really good leveling build since you can take on elites solo when needed.
Hey! I’m about to level up a shaman tank with 3 of my other friends. Any advice? Special gear to look out for? Was the talent build good? Please and thank you
@Brian You are severely underestimating how much single target threat a sham tank can do. Between Rockbiter and Earth Shock, you can easily pull aggro from any warr or druid. I do agree that Shams aren't viable end game, but they could be with just a couple changes.
@Brian I agree with RIchard here, been playing a shaman tank as well and, altho in end-tier it's not the best, it works like a charm during levelling. Earth shock max rank will always pull anything off of anyone, and keep them there as well, since it's not just a taunt but an avalanche of threat you put out! And a shaman can just as well switch to enhancement dps, just needs a bit of a gear swap, like any other tank.
Corruption procs every 3 second, drain life procs every 1 second. You basically increase the proc from 1 per 3 to 4 per 3, I.e a 4x boost to Nightfall proc chance per any given time period.

All I have to say is, what kind of shit healing hybrid priest takes 3/3 blessed recovery over Healing focus and 1/3 blessed recovery (since the recovery is only dispel fodder). Also improved mana burn is way more useful for team based pvp than improved inner fire.
The Warlock tank though, your main concern will be generating enough threat so you might want to spend some points in destruction. Also Searing Pain does not scale that well with spell power so crit is more important.
Just curious why you would go into Affliction as a Warlock tank as opposed to Destruction for the +15% chance for searing pain to crit and -5% mana cost? Would you really spam Drain Life to solo elites as opposed to fearing and just doing high damage?
You have the warlock tank spec wrong, at least for the video footage you used, i am on the same server as that guy in the video and we talked about the spec, you need imp searing pain and ruin in the build for as much threat gen as possible, since locks have no taunt. I also tanked zg the week after he did that video.
Lol melee hunter.... this is not a weird spec this is normal for a high parsing hunter that wants to go the extra mile. The reason you don't see it is that if you clip and auto attack in between the rotation your at a dps loss.

You definitely don't want to tank dungeons and raids with whatever that mess of a spec is. I did play Soul Link for a bit though and it was both fun and extremely effective for dungeon tanking.
You definently want void over succubus. With master demonology(base) 10% physical damage reduction(void) over a 10% damage buff(succubus) is a no brainer for tanking. Threat building shouldn't be an issue as a warlock without it anyway. The void has a larger health pool to absorb the damage from soul link, possible ping pong threat for minimised damage to player, and improved void for more sack health.
