@@ivanstiles7030 Yeah, I’m liking the way it all came out. Well everything but the wobble. Hopefully we can figure it out then correct it. I would love to have this one in the living room.
Awesome restoration! There's a lot going on inside those old fans. I noticed at 0:53 the shaft wobbles inside the motor housing itself. Is there some sort of nut or fastener on the other side that may be loose?
Thanks Elijah. I don’t think so. The stator is in the housing so tight that there wouldn’t be any room for a nut or bolt. I can’t figure this thing out. It sucks because this is such a nice old fan. I want to use Her in the living room but I don’t want to ruin anything by running Her. To much wobble. I’m trying to find another one so I can see what’s wrong. Apparently these are collectible so I haven’t found one yet. Hopefully I can figure it out someday 🤞🏼
I wish I could help…..but as you know…..total Rookie here. Is the shaft bent? Could it just be wear and tear from years of use? It sure looks great and it surely wants to run and hit turbo! But something is out of balance. I’m sure you will figure it out., or someone else that is experienced in working on them. Looks FANtastic 👍👏🇺🇸
@@Living-The-Dream Nothing is bent that I could tell. There’s just a little slop in the neck. Hopefully She just needs a washer or something simple. She’s been running on high for over an hour now and She’s not getting hot or smoking so that’s good. Just a little wobbly. Smooth running motor on the Ol Gal. I’m glad this is over. This has been a long process. I need to take a break, maybe a ratchet or tube radio. Something easy 😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That old fan looks awesome with just the right amount of patina. Nicely done.
