Ben achieved everything he went out there for. Make stronger relationships (Denise, Sarah) and connect better with people, AND he made it to the final 5 before realizing he didn't need to win the game to feel accomplished. I think people get so angry when they see someone out there not playing super cut-throat and aggressively because they think that it's wasting a spot, but there's different ways to play Survivor. I liked Ben's way, he's a fun character, and the Ben, Tony, Sarah, Denise alliance (whether you liked it or not) was the best of the season. He's got a fan in me, that's for sure.
Jason Monto I agree with u. He accomplished what he wanted to do. And when u already have a million dollars you can focus on those other goals that u want to do just to make u feel better as a person.

That’s a fair point! My problem is him giving Sarah permission to vote him out. I get it that he knew he had no chance of winning, but you’re in the Final 5 of an all winners season. To me, he essentially gave up

While I understand and respect Ben's reasoning for doing what he did, he ironically would've benefitted Sarah more by staying, which is freaking hilarious! If Ben stays, Sarah probably reaches final tribal no matter what, with or without Tony. Ben would've helped her more by staying and beating Tony at fire for her, which would probably give her the win.
If he didn’t do what he did, Michele goes at 5th, Natalie likely still wins final immunity, and she would take Sarah to final three, where Ben most likely beats Tony at fire. Natalie, Sarah, Ben final three, Ben likely gets no votes, and Sarah likely beats Natalie.
Yeah kinda dumb. To play that hard and quit just like that. I would rather have other winners here.

ben knew he had no chance and was gonna get shredded in FTC. he got what he wanted from the game and if that works for Ben, that works for Ben. Online people are so quick to judge but don’t realize the effects it has on the real people playing
and ben has a million dollars already, just like everyone else out there (with the exception of sandra) and the decision he made is for him to deal with, not the fans. so i don't see what the big deal is
Wild Card Watson lol it’s not a wasted spot. There are more ways to play survivor than being super cutthroat and aggressive. Ben is a great character and brought a different element to this game. Besides people love Keith even though he was kind of aloof and was also willing to essentially quit in Cambodia and people loved him for it

I don’t understand why Ben got so much hate this season. He wasn’t my favourite player coming into it, but i feel he was really able to transform and learn about who he was. He didn’t quit at final 5, and I don’t understand why people are saying he did. He knew he couldn’t win and that he did not need to win because he had matured and that is what he needed form this season. What he did for Sarah was mature, not cowardly.
Reid Kyrzyk yes thank u. I feel like nobody else really understands that he wanted to change, not everyone has to be idol finders, controlling the votes, or winning to win in their own eyes. I love Ben this season I really saw him change from his two different seasons from not making friends to have a lot of friends.
He played such a bad game this season and only was spared because he wasn't that big of a threat in everyones eyes. He got so mad at Adam quickly for throwing his name out there when he shouldn't have. He was so cocky with his alliance and the fact the he did not want to talk to Jeremy after trying to vote him out was stupid as hell. you dont go in winners at war and not do anything to win 2 million dollars. Legends like Parv, Rob, Sandra, Etc are there to give us fans good tv and celebrate the show with us thats been airing for 20 years. We are supposed to witness the greatness of the cast and show us why they deserved their win and in the end you wanna play barney and friends?!. Heck in all stars, Lex voted out his friend Ethan for his own sake. Parv and Amanda targeted each other in HvV, Sandra and Rupert voted out each other. Amanda voted out James yet these people actually are still friends until now because you know why? they respect the game and they play it like how they should. (Parv and Amanda had a beef after the show but I think theyre okay now)
@@iang1016 he suspected that adam was throwing his name out, and when he tried to confront him about, adam chose not to talk about it. and not talking to someone when you want them gone is normal. ben wasn't aligned with jeremy, so why bother talking to jeremy? and sure betrayal is part of the game, but it's just gonna make you seem like a hateful person at the end, and ben didn't want to be that kind of person.
@@lafingscarecrow Tony lied to Sophie, Jeremy, Nick, etc but did these people took it seriously? these are all winners. I dont think they will be bitter at all considering theyve all done it to win the game. I guess for me I just had a lot of expectations from everyone and Ben is someone that did not play a good game so Im taking it out on him coz tbh from the beginning i didnt like him. It's like my own opinion tbh so just nevermind me lmao.

Ben had such a transformation from Season 35 to Season 40. He made some really strong social connections with people and he made it to Final 5 which didn't surprise me at all. Ben was a great character he played a good game I think he was just waiting for the right opportunity to make a move if it ever arose. He went out on his own terms and I respect that a lot
I agree with you. I really hated the way Ben was painted/viewed this season, The Survivor Production gave Ben a really bad edit, it even says on Survivor Wiki that "Ben became rivals with several of his castmates, including Adam Klein, Rob Mariano, and Jeremy Collins." In my opinion, the feud between Ben and Rob was NOT Ben's fault at all. Rob just did not trust Ben at all and painted Ben as "a loose cannon!" Rob basically ruined a lot of Ben and Adam's gameplay in the beginning during the first two weeks of the game.
The feud between Ben and Adam was NOT Ben's fault at all either. It was NOT Adam's fault either. It WAS Sophie's fault because she lied to Adam that she didn't have Yara's Hidden Immunity Idol. She then pitted Adam and Ben against each other by throwing Adam under the bus- she told Ben and Sarah about Adam's suspicions, Adam suspected that Ben and Sarah had the Hidden Immunity Idol and he tried to vote Sarah out at the merge for that one reason, even when Ben and Sarah both insisted that they didn't have the Idol, and that's why Adam and Ben got into that heated argument at Tribal Council. None of that would've happened though. if Sophie had just came clean and told Ben and Adam that she (Sophie) had the Idol because Ben and Adam didn't know that Sophie had the idol until she was voted out/blindsided and had blurted out that she had an idol in her pocket. (Even Adam was shocked that Sophie had the Idol and Ben and Sarah didn't if you check out this post from Adam's Instagram page instagram.com/p/B-N3oGKJRYY/). So basically It WAS Sophie's fault that Ben and Adam were at odds against each other, it was NOT Ben's fault and it was NOT Adam's fault, it WAS Sophie's fault, period!!!!! (I am glad of course, that Ben and Adam both forgave Sophie for her actions! and I'm sure Sophie apologized to them at Ponderosa for creating that unnecessary chaos).
The only feud that i found Ben responsible for was the one between him and Jeremy. It just didn't seem right that he would isolate Jeremy. I'm glad they made up too when they were at Ponderosa. But that's the ONLY thing i found wrong about Ben's season this time.
In my opinion, Ben did NOT quit, he clearly wanted to come out and have a brilliant Social Game, even though he was at odds with Rob, Adam, and Jeremy at times, he developed a lot of solid friendships over the course of 37 Days with Sarah, Sophie, Denise, Tony, and Nick. And the point is, is that building solid relationships with people is something that money ABSOLUTELY CANNOT Buy! And in times like this during Quarantine it's good to just slow down and think about the people you care about and who you will always want to be friends with for years to come! For me, I have a great brother, a great sister, and 14 good friends I trust the most- 6 of which are from High School, 6 I met in College, and 2 I met somewhere else in my travels! And that's how I put together the group that I'm proud to call "The Super Seventeen!"
@@thewachannel4537 Actually Ben and Jeremy were very close and one day Ben told Jeremy you and I are going to the end together and your my number 1 and as he turned around he spotted Jeremy looking at the camera (basically mocking it) and Ben called him out on it so at that point he didn’t trust Jeremy after that

Ben to me was at the beginning a follower and a little bit annoying but as the merge came I began the see the caring part of him and the nice guy

Ben played so genuine.
@Yogi probably because in an interview, Ben shared that Jeremy mocked him toward the cameras when he turned his back and saw him making faces right when he turned around.
Ben is generally mature and grew more like Sarah. I found Jeremy and Natalie to be the opposite.
I was actually so fed up with Ben's game and how he was making it so far into the game, simply because of how he won his last game by finding idols and no strong strategy or social game. I also disliked that at his hand fell some of the great survivor players. This being said, I do LOVE how his story arc wrapped up and i believe that there was no better way to cement him as a worthier winner than him ending his journey at his own hand in a trade for comraderie. This was so fitting for ben, and in the greater scheme of things, it redeemed him from any negative light that he had obtained in my eyes. Ben was worthy of this season for playing this game and putting his very own stamp on the game of survivor.

I really want the Ben hate to stop. people hate on Ben just because of a fucking game, when Michele won, everyone said “she got the votes, she deserved to win”, but when Ben won, people just said it’s rigged! The goal is to win. And Ben did that, no matter how he did it. Everyone wanted Ben out so much but when he realized that he couldn’t win, and tried to give Sarah a edge and go down a hero.... people just hated him more!
I see how Jeremy was frustrated w him. And how people think he gifted tony the dub. But he was still iconic
I loved Ben this season, I don’t care what people thought of him last season.
Ben came to make friends and he did. He already won so he just wanted to make some friends because that is what his goal was. Of course everyone wants to win, but Ben wanted friends and since he already had a million dollars his goal was to make friends.

@@mikemena3357 you can’t have over 5 mins of an episode. Your video can be over 5 minutes and use footage from multiple episodes, but you can’t use over 5 mins of any one episode

I'l be bias for Rob. All the guys agreed to use the buddy system. It's not a system that should be used on winners, but as men, they all agreed to use it and not vote one another off. yet after, Ben complained about being in the buddy system. No one can physically control your actions in the game, Ben could have walked off and ended the buddy system at any time before trial. I'll admit they edited Ben to look uninteresting this season like he was riding coat tails. Cops R us > ben, if a survival situation happened, the cops r us alliance would have probably saved themselves by throwing ben out, but he decided to play I'll let you vote me off card.
Its cool that everyone's saying he doesn't come to win but to make friends and whatsoever BUT do they realize he took a spot of a male winner who would've come to win and not quit ( chris , richard , todd and more ) but instead we got someone who came on AN ALL WINNERS SEASON just to make friends and quit ? did we seriously asked and waited for an all winners season to get this kind of results ? and the sad part is his whole gameplay was messy , he's a sheep that basically hand tony a win
He knew he wasn’t going to win anyway, and he was thinking with a Marine mentality. Basically, if the whole team takes a hill (win), then everyone wins. He’s a good person and his first win took a horrible emotional toll on him.

Didn't like when he was rude to Jeremy after he tried to vote Jeremy out and it failed. Jeremy had the right to play his advantage and save himself. Really annoyed me but I guess it had been edited so we didn't see why he was behaving like that.
Reason why I find Boston Rob overrated is his game wasn't flexible at all. He always need to be in charge and he wouldn't even let his threat level goes down even a little bit. Maybe if he plays against a bunch of rookies like Redemption Island, perfect. But by now everybody knows his game already. He is also playing against all winners, who being winners themselves, all have their own egos. I was happy that they decided to kick him out. His need to have control over the tribe is so annoying by now.

He ruined the season with his childish antics (specifically against Adam and Jeremy) and his refusal to swing against Tony.
how was ben being childish towards adam? all he did with adam was question him about his name being thrown out. and when he refused to answer, ben walked away like a mature adult because he didn't want to get into a fight with adam. and tony was winning non-stop and keeping ben safe. so why would he turn against tony. sure tony is a threat to win at the end, but you wanna keep people who are gonna help you get farther in the game. ben was doing what he thought was right
