Adam, clearly embarrassed "It was worth a shot." Jeff's sincere "Always." That exchange made me tear up. It was just so sweet and such a powerful moment. I loved that Jeff said that in that moment. I felt like Adam truly showed his Survivor spirit. He didn't care that it was embarrassing... it was worth taking the shot to try and save himself. But that's Survivor. You go out and try your best and you take all the shots you can. It's always worth it! Maybe I'm a sap, but I just loved that moment from this season.
Adam has said he wasn’t embarrassed at all, I’m not sure why you think he was. He has in interviews he thought their could be an idol on it and production kept telling him to check it out
@@Ryan-dz7mg His body language appeared to show he was embarrassed in that moment. I haven't seen the interviews, so I was judging this based on his body language/tone of voice/facial expressions. Hoshiko Mizudori it’s been confirmed that Sandra’s elimination actually happened before Parvati’s- the episode was just edited to make it look like the Dakal tribal came after Sele’s since it had more theatrics with the double idol play (plus if you look at the bequeathal scenes after their eliminations, Sandra has the option to give her tokens to Parv but Parv does not have the option to give her tokens to Sandra).
Edge of Extinction isn’t my favorite thing on Survivor, but I feel it was absolutely needed this season. It would be such a let down if all the old school players were voted off first, and we never saw them again. Especially with no reunion show. I liked that we got a final goodbye to Sandra, Parvati, Rob, etc. But this definitely was my favorite season ever, and I never thought Survivor would ever top Heroes vs Villains. Tony was an absolute joy to watch and the ending of Cops R Us was amazing.
Very rarely does the most entertaining player win the season, and Tony has broken that mold twice. It's ESPECIALLY crazy that this was an All Star season, which historically ends up with pretty UTR winners at the end. We're truly in the greatest timeline.
Yeah, I agree. Weirdly enough I think that his epic failure on Game Changers helped him in this season as it put a dent on his track record and kept him a smaller threat than he actually was.
@@TheRealSweedie but you have an opinion about him, which is why he's such a great character. Think about Wendell or Nick, for example. I don't like them or dislike them, they're just there
Its come to the point where peridiam's analysis has rubbed off on me and my emails between my ELA teacher and I are just survivor talk. Like, two coherent sentences about schoolwork and two paragraphs of why Tony deserved to win... what more could I ask for? [edit] wow thanks for the likes! much appreciated :)
Absolutely, that's because the players that were in those videos have the most personality. Not all, but most. That's what used to make the show fun - you want to see the personality. The snakiness of a Tyson or the flintiness of a Parvati.
Mark Lisowski I read an interview that said there would never be an idol hidden at Tribal Council because it would most definitely end with the TB set being torn up by players in search of it.
My top six WaW moments: 6. Michele's happy dances. 5. Sophie's 4-3-2 blindside. 4. Denise slaying the queen. 3. Tony's extortion revelation. 2. Adam's idol ploy (not play). 1. The fire-making challenge - especially the end, for two reasons: - I knew right then that Tony (who was initially my second choice behind Adam before becoming my favorite a bit before the merge) had won it all. My scream of "YES!" could be heard two blocks away. - The aftermath between Tony and Sarah is one of the most heart wrenching, emotional moments in Survivor history. What a great way to close the books on Cops R Us, quite arguably the greatest Survivor duo ever.
I kind of hate how Denise gets praised for voting out Sandra. "Slaying the queen". I genuinely dislike Sandra as a winner but voting her out makes no sense... like, instead of having a connection/potential ally in Sandra by working with her, Denise takes out a big player and potential ally for her in the game just because... she wants people to remember her this season? Dumb move, shouldn't be praised for it. Makes complete sense to vote Tony out there but I'm not complaining, we get the best winner now.
I agree with all of these, Michele was so cute when she was happy dancing and I was a pretty big Tony fan from the start so that made this season so intense for me. And I love how he redeemed himself to Sarah in their heartwarming duo. He won as a villain and as a hero so nobody can deny that Tony is the king of survivor.
@@TrueGuardify True but Sandra made that comment about Denise not being a threat. That was very disrespectful. Sandra touting her own horn had been a problem and Denise taking her out because of it was very appropriate. Sandra has never dominated a game of survivor. She doesn't do anything but get sneak her way to the end and steal votes. She's Tony definition of a hyena
It’ll be a long time before they bring it back. If they ever bring it back. It was just here this season to give the early boot winners more screen time.
Elijah Culper Jeff KNOWS that nobody likes it and has stated it himself. Unfortunately though, instead of saying something like “we won’t bring it back again” he said like “it won’t be back for awhile” which annoys me, because jeff can be reallllllly dense when it comes to knowing what’s actually good for the show or not. if the fanbase hates it, get rid of it, period
I think the Edge was a nice addition for this season since most of my favorite players were voted out early, so it was nice to still get to see them. The back-and-forth of advantages and fire tokens was interesting to watch, especially with the extortion advantage. However, it shouldn't come back for the reasons already stated by other people.
Check out the Meranian Review. He makes a ton of cool videos about Big Brother, Survivor, and the Amazing Race. His channel is honestly super underrated and deserves more subscribers. Definitely check him out if you love Reality TV game shows.
I do have to say one thing that was so crazy about this season was all the whispering happening during tribal council. To be honest tho, that whispering got too out of hand and when Denise snapped, the whispering stopped from that point on. Boy those were crazy tribal councils
Did anyone else think “What if Denise wrote down Tony’s name instead of Sandra’s?” Please stop saying that it wouldn’t have happened guys. I was just mentioning the thought of what could have been, and how it would have had a drastic impact on the outcome of the game
EJ Elbertson I wouldn’t say it’s luck... it’s just a display of the butterfly effect. And Tony has remained low enough of a threat at that point that Denise didn’t feel the need to get him out at that time-she did clearly feel like Sandra needed to go though
@@ejelbertson9974 Tribe swaps are the only thing I can think of and maybe idol/advantage finding. Most people that find them are actually looking for them though. To suggest it has a lot of luck is unreasonable in my opinion. Challenges, Strategy, and relationships which are the main portions of the game and how you get far are not luck-based.
@@Malamber Those stategies and relationships will mean nothing if your tribe swapped with the wrong people. The tribe you end up with can make or break your game, so you have to be lucky if you want to end up on top
It wasn't fair that he wasn't able to earn any fire tokens before the first challenge to get back in. He got punished for being the last voted out by getting no advantage in the challenge, which makes no sense considering he had played the best of all of them up to that point.
@@zachcushing-murray2663 doesn't really matter. Look at nat, she had literally every advantage the first challenge too and did not get back in... I mean she did the second one, but she had to work her butt off, and she deserved it because nobody else from yul to boston rob, to amber who literally did nothing, they did not deserve to get back in. And the longer people are in the game, the more rice and stuff they have eaten theoretically so the fire tokens on EOE helped for the challenge, but you also have to earn them and Yul DID have a chance to earn some just like nat, but did not get as many. Yul should have became friends with Nat on EOE like Tyson lol. Bad move on his part siding with the old timers because he is one I really felt had a chance at winning the game.
@@rileyesmay I'm referring specifically to the first challenge that Tyson won. Yul had been voted off the night before, so he had no chance to get tokens on eoe before the challenge. During the challenge, he was forced to go faster than Tyson and Rob in order to catch up, and was still neck and neck. Give him the extra 45sec he spent digging and he has a comfortable lead and can take it slowly rather than rushing to catch up.
@@rachsounds i dont really know what happen theres no footage about it, but a lot of player talk about this, and its just simple hit at the moment that not mean anything at all, not even enough to call feud or even bully.
Been waiting all day for this. Everything you said about Tony in the beginning were my thoughts. He was my pick to win, but i never thought he could actually pull it off. Beyond satisfying and incredible strategy
I loved being able to see Yul, Parv, and Ethan again! It was such a fun season! I’m happy Tony won and I really liked the scene when Sandra pulled the flag - she was true to herself and I liked the way they presented that scene.
Michele is now the only winner to play multiple times and never get their torch snuffed. Truly baffling how people still underestimate her as a player.
Was kind of a doubter honestly before Winners at War but I know now that was a mistake. Really impressive performance from her both times now, playing from the bottom and still doing that well is commendable
nope, but after the merge the losing edge players should be sent home, and then the rest of it is should be played amongst the merge vote outs. like if it had been played with players from wendell to nick, then we'd get a whole different outcome
@@4musketeers124 yeah i guess so. but i still don't like it. if that was how the edge was played in the earlier season, we'd probably have rick devens, or even mr. joe mazing as the winner instead of chris
I honestly think tony played one of the best games in survivor history. The amount of achievements he had this season was amazing. I still can’t believe this season is over
I was so sure going into the season that once Rob and Amber were voted 1,2, Tony would be voted out 3rd, how he won without receiving a single vote against is the one biggest shocks I've had from the show in a long long time.
I loved Michelle on this season and I think that she has solidified herself as one of the very best Survivor social players of all time. Also, her strategic and physical games are pretty good. If Tony did not win I would have wanted her to win.
I agree honestly mainly because I wasn’t expecting Michele to battle with legends like Boston Rob, Sandra, Tony, Kim, Lacina but nope she out lasted all of them... then got steamrolled at the final 3 vote wise even though she deserved 1 vote for the underdog game she has had for the majority of the season
What did she do? She won some challenges ok... but besides that she was on the wrong side of almost every vote... and was only brought to the end because they knew they could beat her... as she received 0 votes
I was afraid the Hyenas would win when Tony laid that out earlier in the season, but thankfully we got a Lion to crown as the winner. Due to the early gameplay, I wasn't sure anyone could make a big entertaining, dominant run like Tony did without being taken out as a meat shield...but he prevailed through it with NO VOTES AGAINST HIM. Hats off to the survivor King Tony
Ernest Noeid that’s not my point, I’m saying since they originally made that alliance in Cagayan they’ve won every season they’ve competed on. I didn’t mean it in a sense that they’ve always worked side by side to the end cause obviously that was impossible in GC
It confused me how denise was with kim and michele and then all or a sudden denise is loyaly in the four person alliance of ben, tony, and lacina with no explanation
@@edugonzalez7208 I think he means from an edit perspective, because they literally never showed Denise talk to Ben/Sarah/Tony before that tribal and then all of sudden she's allies with them. I'm sure in the game itself, they had a chat and Denise realized it was in her best interest to work with them. It was just frustrating that it was cut out of the show.
@@nolanrussell6326 yup, I agree with that. It really sucked how we couldn't get some info into some of the winners game. Wish we had 90 min episodes...
I don’t think Denise was with them per say. She was definitely fourth in that group and was only kinda with them Because of Ben. And she wasn’t with Michele who was the clear person the bottom. Denise was smart or bad depending on how you view her bc she just was kinda there and not drawing attention to yourself.
Winners at War needed the EOE in my opinion, these are all winners and most of them are so beloved, if Natalie got voted out first and had no chance to redeem herself... I would be devastated. Same goes for so many of the old school players that got wiped out pre-merge, I was really greatful that technically they were still "in the game".
It was such a crazy season, and I was actually rooting for tony and Sophie throughout until the end and was really nervous during the finale. Practically cursing at my TV every 5 seconds 😂
I saw online Tony made two fake idols that he used to sway Nick to work with him and the other to prevent Natalie from voting Sarah. That is a HUGE part of the game we missed because of the edge
The way I see it, the wiping out of the old school was detrimental to the season and should have been foreseen by producers. It was 12 vs 8, meaning 4 old school winners in each tribe. a 9 vs 9, old school tribe vs new school tribe, would have almost made sure some old school winners would have made the merge. Post merge, the season wasn't celebratory anymore to me, it became yet another modern era season.
All I want is an ALL LEGENDS season, with players who have played multiple times without the elusive win. People like... Russell, Coach, Ozzy, Malcolm, Joe, Jerri, Cirie, Amanda, Stephenie, Erik, Colby, and so many more! The gameplay would be great, and the drive and determination would make it a season to never forget.
This is probably one of if not my favorite season of all time. I started watching survivor in HVV and that set a really high precedent that was only matched by this season.
26:17 This is a really important point it felt like Yul, Wendell, & Adam were punished for doing better in the game since they had pretty much no opprotunity to get tokens
Why would they do that. But they should def add more currency to spice the game up and i honestly like the concept of edge of extinction. Cause many times those getting voted off is unfair but i guess this only serves for those returning players cause they most likely get voted off first. So in a way this is to help them have a chance to get back
While it was missing something, I think the EoE was essential to this season. It allowed us to celebrate all of the winners even though they got voted out, and I can’t imagine the season without it.
I love survivor so much and I love the fact that this channel exists. I like to go overboard about shows and know everything I can, and your videos are so great for that!! (as to why I've pretty much watched every video on this channel l o l) Just wanted to say keep up the good work and thanks for always posting quality content like you do!!❤️
Can you talk about what could happen (theories) in situations like: * everyone is immune at tribal (idol, necklace, legacy) not by deadlock * A 1-1-1-1-etc tie during the pre-merge * A three way tie at the final Three (FTC) *A 4-4 tie at the FTC in Micronesia * And other weird situation
Answering your points: - Jeff has stated that production will always ensure at least 1 person is not immune in any way possible. This scenario played out on Game Changers with Cirie’s elimination. - As with all tie votes, revote, then if there’s no one left to draw rocks, fire-making challenge - They have never answered this question specifically, but speculation has it that they either bring out people from Ponderosa ie pre-jury, to form a temporary jury and revote on the winner. Either that or fire making to determine the winner.
-rocks if they HAVE to but since everyone is immune they probably just send everyone back to camp and have to do a double later on -rocks -probably would just make everyone vote again
I believe Heroes Vs Villains is a much better season. The beginning of WaW became too predictable with old school after old school player being voted out. There was an energy and electricity to HvV that Winners at War just did not have. It was a more aggressive season with colorful characters and a more balanced playing field. The strategy was never to take out the most threatening people in HvV as we had two winners and a runner up make it to that final 3. Although everybody in WaW had won the game at some point, the one time players were too threatened by the legends. Imagine Adam, Ben, or Nick in HvV? It'd be laughable. The intensity of that season is still unmatched for me
I don't get the point about Adam, Ben and Nick. If I got It well, you're saying that they would be too weak players to compete in the HvV cast, but they actually didn't do that great in WAW either in my opinion
I’m 15 and I really want to play the game. I was really disappointed when they lowered the age but it was to 16. however I can’t wait to get on the island and hopefully win the season! It’s a nice bit of hope during this time and I think that is the best part of this show it lets you escape a little bit
My dad said “tony looks strung out all the time” during one of the episodes and it made me realize that it’s cuz his mind is constantly going. You can tell who’s really playing cuz tony was the only one that really looked exhausted all the time. He thinks 10 moves ahead and it shows.
DarkLord 607 He thought he got the last laugh, by mocking the jury, and making them look like dumbasses on national television. What he didn’t know is that They would be voting for the winner
@@iam_vannguyen on Samoa he wasn't that bad I agree that Parvati should have won HvV but Samoa. They were a bunch of bitter bitches. He did not mock them in Samoa and he should have won. Change my mind.
agreed. i wish they'd done the season old school vs new school, and brought back players like earl, jenna, and vecepia. if i were to cast winners at war i'd put those three in for old school, take sandra out because she was disappointing this season, and for the new schoolers, i'd take out nick and michele to make the tribes even.
The flaw of the edge is that in a real survivor situation(which the show is mirrored upon), once you die(symbolically shown in the game as your fire dying out), there's no second life. The whole premise of the game is to survive your ONLY life. That's why you do everything to kill than be killed. The edge gives you 2 Lives, which isn't innate and is something people can't inexplicably relate to. It's that feeling that makes that you feel like there's "something not right about it" when you watch it. Imagine being an actual castaway, killing a rival castaway to survive, and then somehow that dead rival is able to influence the physical world by sending disadvantages from purgatory. whuut
You know you're having a good day when you see Peridiam upload a 30 minute review. Thanks man, because of you I love hosting survivor games on ROBLOX. Keep on reviewing bro
One thing I wish was different about this season is that they drew a line of "old school" and "new school," and had those be the two tribes from the start. That way come merge, we would've had some more Yuls and Parvatis and less Micheles and Nicks
It would have been a more interesting final tribal because there is no clear cut winner. Natalie did what she said when entering the game. Michele still didn't control anything BUT survived the most. Sarah was with Tony a ton but was in the majority most of the game. Multiple people (I think at least 3 or 4) said they were going to vote for Michele, but didn't because they were scared that Natalie would win and wanted to have a good representative to win their season.
i find it interesting how people are very quick to come for Natalie saying she doesn’t deserve a win no matter how she played or who she knocked out, yet the same people supported Chris’ win when he did the same 😬
Doug Yeah. The edge was bad for the game. But from what I’ve seen from cbs, including it was necessary to get the cast for season 40 to agree to come back. So I guess it’s worth it.
I'm waiting for a season where they all live together (one big tribe) and at every challenge they draw straws for which tribe they belong to and compete as that tribe just for that particular challenge. so your "tribe" would always be changing. That way it would make tribal councils really interesting if all your alliances are not on your tribe for the day.
Peridium, I've been a big fan of your different survivor series tropes for a while, but I have to say you did a wonderful job with WaW. Your Wednesday vids became a big part of this season for me. I demand MOAR!
This was a fantastic season, great cast, amazing gameplay, so many emotional moments but again with EOE and some of these twists it's just bringing it down slightly, I'm never a fan of redemption twists or obvious winners but I'm ok with Tony. Overall this season would be in my Top 10 out of the 40 seasons What are your thoughts on Survivor now allowing people as young as 16 to potentially be on the show
I think it’s kinda weird to be honest. Like I’m a 20 year old Canadian guy whose finally allowed on survivor and now I gotta compete to get on the show with kids under 18. Also younger isn’t always better. Natalie for RI was 18. A lot of younger players just aren’t ready for it. I believe Fabio is still the youngest winner and his place on the beginning of the young-old is close to his place on worst-best winner. I don’t want survivor to become a parody of its self (we have big brother for that). Also I will say though a US Wild West season is enticing to just see the change in scenery like China and Tocantins. I hope Survivor lets more Canadians apply (technically Todd Herzog was Canadian but forced out of citizenship due to survivor). And I guess moving into future when Jeff eventually retires I feel there’s only two possible hosts to replace him (do not end survivor!!) it’s either Rob C or Rob M. Both are masterful in understanding the games and are charismatic in their approach and delivery.
It was garbage!!! Emotional moments were so overdone...way too many. So glad I will never have to see Tyson cry every damn time. Thought it was very contrived and yet overall pretty boring except maybe for 3 episodes. And to hear Jeff say it is the best season ever its just insulting to the great seasons that came before. If you want to see a good season go watch season 2 of Australian Survivor (2017). No edge of extinction BS or firetokens... really don't like that.
The simplest way to fix the edge of extinction is to send all the losers of the 1st battle back (at the merge) home/to ponderosa. That way we don't get a person winning who only spend like 8 days actually playing in the main game.
Hey man, love the Genius shoutout. If possible, maybe you should make a video talking about/promoting The Genius since it's the Survivor off-season now (and potentially will be for a while) and maybe fans would enjoy another brilliant show to check out.
Yeah I don't see any other season ever beating HvV at this point, in terms of entertainment value or level of gameplay. It was kind of the perfect season - WaW maybe could have been there if there was no EoE and at least half the fan-favorites made the merge, but with that opportunity missed I doubt there'll be another like it before Jeff retires
OMG I remember you put footage form the genius in the purple edit video. I asked you what it was and you told me. As a person learning Korean I was so hooked to find a competition reality show in Korean. hearing you talk about the garnets at the end was such a good point. I don't think fire tokens being potential money would've changed much since the winners really all wanted to play hard. However, for first-time players, I think fire tokens acting as garnets would cause more thought to go into whether or not they should buy an advantage or not.
This... was my first season. Oops. It was AWESOME and even if Tony won ( I was hoping he wouldn't) he definitely deserved it and I'm fine with this ending. I have nothing to compare it too, but I felt so exhilarated watching this season and I don't know how I can watch any other season after this AHHH!
For future seasons idols and advantage should cost fire tokens after a player finds it. After a player finds an idol or advantage they have to pay a certain amount of fire tokens by sundown or it will be rehidden. So idols would be one fire token in the beginning and the price increases throughout the game. This would be interesting because it force players to collaborate with other players when finding advantages and stop other players from going on an idol rampages like Ben or Rick Devens.
That's definitely coming into play for future upcoming seasons any idols and advantages they found must cost a certain amount tokens to purchase it or it expires by sundown
4 things I wanted after watching the season. 1. Tony winning unanimously 2. No edge of extinction 3. A proper reunion show 4. The old schoolers making the merge..... Shit happens but still WaW is definitely top 3 season for sure
as always, i loved your video! i'm a bit more critical on this season (messy editing), and tony's win (i don't think he should be considered the greatest of all time), but you can't help but love the cast. the pre-merge was a dream! excited to see where you take the channel next
EoE could work but would need the following changes: 1. The exact advantages and disadvantages that can be sent back into the game need to be known upfront so they can be planned for in terms of players game strategy 2. All players pre merge get to duke it out to fill the post merge boot spot - 1 person gets back in the game and the rest go to Ponderosa This would freshen up the 'we need to keep the strongest team' pre merge ideology
Not my favorite season; that still holds to H v V. However, it is in the Top 10. It was such a fun and entertaining season. I am not a huge fan of the edge but the fire tokens made it interesting and fun. I wish the episodes were longer though in some cases but it still had great moments. The only thing I was upset about was most of the old school players went first. I was hoping to see Parvati play a lot longer. Denise taking out Sandra was soooo brutal but I give her props. Brilliant move. I could keep going on but long story short, it is a great way to celebrate 20 years of the show. Can't wait for season 41 and on. :D
I thought the season was very entertaining, though as someone who is bigger fan of the more methodical old school vs the hyper-focused, everyone is playing at day 1 new school, I was very annoyed to watch all my favorites go so early. Rob's my favorite all-time player and I was so mad watching him use his smart but obvious tactic which got him the boot and I was super bummed Yul didn't make the merge. I think Tony did great and is a deserving winner, I just really would have liked to see the merge have several big players going after one another rather than Tony, Kim, and several under the radar players. I think the Edge of Extinction is dumb and does eat up a lot of time, but for this season I think it worked because we get more time with all the players and they get those satisfying endings.
Really really wish you had given Michele more credit! So many people downplay how hard it is to play from the bottom with little to no alliances. A GREAT player
to be honest we would appreciate a lot more game play and social dynamics shown to us I LOVED the 21:00 segment We are extremely blessed to witness Survivor 40 and your videos, Peridiam Team Michelle btw ;)

God damn you I was going to comment that.
No hate tho
Never know him before but nice to see him and Parvati. Lovely couple
Mr. Parvati Shallow**
You’re an idiot...
My top six WaW moments:
6. Michele's happy dances.
5. Sophie's 4-3-2 blindside.
4. Denise slaying the queen.
3. Tony's extortion revelation.
2. Adam's idol ploy (not play).
1. The fire-making challenge - especially the end, for two reasons:
- I knew right then that Tony (who was initially my second choice behind Adam before becoming my favorite a bit before the merge) had won it all.
Last time I was this early Angelina still wanted Natalie's jacket.
and she wants Dan's idol and rice
@@HealthymemesExe and Elizabeth's jury vote and Davies reward
IMO the edge is just a worse version of redemption island, and I’m not even that big of a fan of redemption island
It’ll be a long time before they bring it back. If they ever bring it back. It was just here this season to give the early boot winners more screen time.
Redemption Island was really good tho on Blood vs Water, it brought so much more drama and entertainment to the season.
I think that edge isn’t good but worked for this season as cbs wanted to get everyone screen time
I think the Edge was a nice addition for this season since most of my favorite players were voted out early, so it was nice to still get to see them. The back-and-forth of advantages and fire tokens was interesting to watch, especially with the extortion advantage. However, it shouldn't come back for the reasons already stated by other people.

Facts
I do have to say one thing that was so crazy about this season was all the whispering happening during tribal council.
To be honest tho, that whispering got too out of hand and when Denise snapped, the whispering stopped from that point on.
Boy those were crazy tribal councils
*Im happy the whispering stopped honestly*
Didn't we have a solid alliance of Tony, Ben, Sarah, Denise, and Jeremy at this point though so there was no need to whisper as much?
The episodes are short enough as it is, I think they should cut out the whispering and add in solid stuff explaining what’s actually happening
Hopefully it gets banned in future seasons.
Ayyy another fur that loves Survivor!
Last time I was this early, yul wasn’t the spokesperson for fire tokens
they add yet another layer of duplicity
Marlon Fouse hahahaha😂😂😂
Wish the fire tokens were utilized more, like in auctions or have a price list to buy advantages.
Did anyone else think “What if Denise wrote down Tony’s name instead of Sandra’s?”
Please stop saying that it wouldn’t have happened guys. I was just mentioning the thought of what could have been, and how it would have had a drastic impact on the outcome of the game
Really goes to show how much of survivor is luck based
EJ Elbertson I wouldn’t say it’s luck... it’s just a display of the butterfly effect. And Tony has remained low enough of a threat at that point that Denise didn’t feel the need to get him out at that time-she did clearly feel like Sandra needed to go though
@@joshlaughlin5437 Survivor has alot of elements of luck, there's no way you can deny that.
This was the most fun season in quite a long time, yet I was pulling so hard for either Yul or Sophie that I'm disappointed.
@@rileyesmay think Yul and Nat had a bit of tension between them on EOE... ):

Been waiting all day for this. Everything you said about Tony in the beginning were my thoughts. He was my pick to win, but i never thought he could actually pull it off. Beyond satisfying and incredible strategy
Yo, he was my pick to win and I have proof
I loved being able to see Yul, Parv, and Ethan again! It was such a fun season! I’m happy Tony won and I really liked the scene when Sandra pulled the flag - she was true to herself and I liked the way they presented that scene.
Michele is now the only winner to play multiple times and never get their torch snuffed. Truly baffling how people still underestimate her as a player.
Was kind of a doubter honestly before Winners at War but I know now that was a mistake. Really impressive performance from her both times now, playing from the bottom and still doing that well is commendable
Jenna Morasca never had her torch snuffed
She played twice relax
for a while that was Amanda right?
@anigerianninja4577 michele won so she did deserve it lol
Last time I was this early Francesca was still in the game 🤔
I think you mean Franchesqua
I wish a season of first boots was made. Just to see Francesca got for the third time
Last time I was this early, Danni was a favorite to win.
I really wish she had better footing in the game!!!! I think she’s such an interesting winner. But the producers also gave her a bad edit.
honestly still makes me so sad she was out so soon
The worst part about her placing so low might be that now it feels like a guarantee that no one else from Guatemala is ever coming back.
Dude, just email CBS, Jeff or someone who works on survivor and get a job with them. This channel is your resume, and it’s stacked.
I always thought that Edge of Extinction should end when the merge begins.
nope, but after the merge the losing edge players should be sent home, and then the rest of it is should be played amongst the merge vote outs. like if it had been played with players from wendell to nick, then we'd get a whole different outcome
Lafing Scarecrow i 100% agree but i get why the stayed for this season but definitely did not like it
@@4musketeers124 yeah i guess so. but i still don't like it. if that was how the edge was played in the earlier season, we'd probably have rick devens, or even mr. joe mazing as the winner instead of chris

Last time I checked she was still on The Amazing Race with her TWINNIE
I honestly think tony played one of the best games in survivor history. The amount of achievements he had this season was amazing. I still can’t believe this season is over
Tony is the greatest player ever. He like the MJ.
I think that’s a bit of a stretch...
completely disagree
Nah
I agree honestly mainly because I wasn’t expecting Michele to battle with legends like
Boston Rob, Sandra, Tony, Kim, Lacina but nope she out lasted all of them... then got steamrolled at the final 3 vote wise even though she deserved 1 vote for the underdog game she has had for the majority of the season
What did she do? She won some challenges ok... but besides that she was on the wrong side of almost every vote... and was only brought to the end because they knew they could beat her... as she received 0 votes
Last time I was this early, amber wasn’t targeted for being married to rob
ps didn’t the season seem to go by so fast?
She wasn't targeted cus of that
Tyson threw her under the bus.
Yeah the season went by fast. :'(
@@mr.pockets8523 She was targeted for being married to Rob, but Tyson also threw her under the bus, so that gave her an even bigger target
This feels like the “Avengers Endgame” of survivor. Hopefully they can come up with some great stuff post this season
O that trash movie? Pls dont compareWaW tothat shit
The survivor off season started with a half an hour video, that a good start
CopsRus has to be my favorite alliance of all time. They’ve won every season they’ve been on, imagine having that power
That alliance didnt happen in Game Changer they both in separate tribe as Tony was voted out early.
Ernest Noeid that’s not my point, I’m saying since they originally made that alliance in Cagayan they’ve won every season they’ve competed on. I didn’t mean it in a sense that they’ve always worked side by side to the end cause obviously that was impossible in GC
@@elliebou3853 The Black Widow Brigade alliance was good too, as all 5 original members made it to the top 6.
It confused me how denise was with kim and michele and then all or a sudden denise is loyaly in the four person alliance of ben, tony, and lacina with no explanation
I think Denise was really smart and knew how to move from one group to the other with her social game
Yeah doing that on purpose would just make it Survivor 40 Old School vs New School. And not winners at war. You feel me
All I want is an ALL LEGENDS season, with players who have played multiple times without the elusive win. People like...
Russell, Coach, Ozzy, Malcolm, Joe, Jerri, Cirie, Amanda, Stephenie, Erik, Colby, and so many more! The gameplay would be great, and the drive and determination would make it a season to never forget.
Thanks for being here. You have the best super fan videos on the net. We appreciate what you do.
This is probably one of if not my favorite season of all time. I started watching survivor in HVV and that set a really high precedent that was only matched by this season.
I'm a simple man I see Peridiam video I watch Peridiam video I like Peridiam video
26:17 This is a really important point it felt like Yul, Wendell, & Adam were punished for doing better in the game since they had pretty much no opprotunity to get tokens
My main concern is that they'll stop hiding idols and start hiding fire tokens and I don't think that would be good for the game.
One thing that bothered me about this season is how every old schooler got voted out too soon.
I've been waiting for this one. Let's go!
I like Ben's move. It shows how humble and real survivor players can be. Like you said, they're people, not plastic toys.
shut up Ben a pussy if he wanted to make friends so bad he shouldn't have treated people like shit his first 2 seasons
It was for nothing because Sarah literally left the next time
its not about if it was worth it. It was about Ben's character
I think he also knew he had no shot at winning and wanted to avoid the trauma of being dismantled by the jury
@@NA-tt5mh there are so many things to correct in that statement

Can you talk about what could happen (theories) in situations like:
* everyone is immune at tribal (idol, necklace, legacy) not by deadlock
* A 1-1-1-1-etc tie during the pre-merge
* A three way tie at the final Three (FTC)
*A 4-4 tie at the FTC in Micronesia
* And other weird situation
Answering your points:
- Jeff has stated that production will always ensure at least 1 person is not immune in any way possible. This scenario played out on Game Changers with Cirie’s elimination.
- As with all tie votes, revote, then if there’s no one left to draw rocks, fire-making challenge
- They have never answered this question specifically, but speculation has it that they either bring out people from Ponderosa ie pre-jury, to form a temporary jury and revote on the winner. Either that or fire making to determine the winner.
Joshua Lim probably fire
-rocks if they HAVE to but since everyone is immune they probably just send everyone back to camp and have to do a double later on
-rocks
-probably would just make everyone vote again
Heros vs villens is overrated after the jt vote ever thing was ruled by Russell and parvati and they didn't even win 🙄 so overrated 😴
I'd put this 4th behind Heroes vs villains, David vs Goliath and Cagayan.
Agreed, amazing season, best cast, though not as top notch as those seasons.
Actually 5th for me, behind Tocantins as well.
It's not the best cast but it's a great cast tho
Tony comes in and casually plays the best single season anyone has ever had in the history of survivor against all veteran winners
Michelle deserves more credit. She wanted to make big moves every day but no one would work with her so what else could she do.
this is such a well crafted video!
I’m 15 and I really want to play the game. I was really disappointed when they lowered the age but it was to 16. however I can’t wait to get on the island and hopefully win the season! It’s a nice bit of hope during this time and I think that is the best part of this show it lets you escape a little bit
remember me when you win
My dad said “tony looks strung out all the time” during one of the episodes and it made me realize that it’s cuz his mind is constantly going. You can tell who’s really playing cuz tony was the only one that really looked exhausted all the time. He thinks 10 moves ahead and it shows.
Yea and that scene where he says 9 days is two weeks. He never went to sleep. He stayed at the beach thinking and looking for idols during the night.

Great season, bad boot order.
agreed. i wish they'd done the season old school vs new school, and brought back players like earl, jenna, and vecepia. if i were to cast winners at war i'd put those three in for old school, take sandra out because she was disappointing this season, and for the new schoolers, i'd take out nick and michele to make the tribes even.
I love Jeremy because he always has a death glare
The flaw of the edge is that in a real survivor situation(which the show is mirrored upon), once you die(symbolically shown in the game as your fire dying out), there's no second life. The whole premise of the game is to survive your ONLY life. That's why you do everything to kill than be killed. The edge gives you 2 Lives, which isn't innate and is something people can't inexplicably relate to. It's that feeling that makes that you feel like there's "something not right about it" when you watch it. Imagine being an actual castaway, killing a rival castaway to survive, and then somehow that dead rival is able to influence the physical world by sending disadvantages from purgatory. whuut
The way you recapped some of the player's games just made me emotional

One thing I wish was different about this season is that they drew a line of "old school" and "new school," and had those be the two tribes from the start. That way come merge, we would've had some more Yuls and Parvatis and less Micheles and Nicks
Either way Natalie didn’t deserve to win even If she won fire
If she beat Tony she would have even rob said so
rob said so? damn it must be true then
@@uknownlight even beating Tony she shouldn't have a chance against Sarah or Michelle
It would have been a more interesting final tribal because there is no clear cut winner. Natalie did what she said when entering the game. Michele still didn't control anything BUT survived the most. Sarah was with Tony a ton but was in the majority most of the game.
Multiple people (I think at least 3 or 4) said they were going to vote for Michele, but didn't because they were scared that Natalie would win and wanted to have a good representative to win their season.
i find it interesting how people are very quick to come for Natalie saying she doesn’t deserve a win no matter how she played or who she knocked out, yet the same people supported Chris’ win when he did the same 😬
17:02 in spite of the spoilers i thought Sarah was gonna win the fire making challenge.
Such a shame the edge had to tarnish an otherwise amazing season...
Doug
Yeah. The edge was bad for the game. But from what I’ve seen from cbs, including it was necessary to get the cast for season 40 to agree to come back. So I guess it’s worth it.
"3 out of 4. We're in the majors. I'm batting 750. I'm the best that's ever played". One of the BEST survivor quotes of all time
I'm waiting for a season where they all live together (one big tribe) and at every challenge they draw straws for which tribe they belong to and compete as that tribe just for that particular challenge. so your "tribe" would always be changing. That way it would make tribal councils really interesting if all your alliances are not on your tribe for the day.
Great vid as always! Hoping you have some fun stuff planned for a long offseason ahead!
For me this is the second best season behind heros v villains
Peridium, I've been a big fan of your different survivor series tropes for a while, but I have to say you did a wonderful job with WaW. Your Wednesday vids became a big part of this season for me. I demand MOAR!
Imagine if Sandra never gave up her idol... Tony would've been gone that episode because everyone else had a get out of jail card.
This was a fantastic season, great cast, amazing gameplay, so many emotional moments but again with EOE and some of these twists it's just bringing it down slightly, I'm never a fan of redemption twists or obvious winners but I'm ok with Tony. Overall this season would be in my Top 10 out of the 40 seasons
What are your thoughts on Survivor now allowing people as young as 16 to potentially be on the show
I think it’s kinda weird to be honest.
That way we don't get a person winning who only spend like 8 days actually playing in the main game.
finally someone who sees that.
Hey man, love the Genius shoutout. If possible, maybe you should make a video talking about/promoting The Genius since it's the Survivor off-season now (and potentially will be for a while) and maybe fans would enjoy another brilliant show to check out.
*The seasons AMAZING with the amazing cast however and rlly chaotic, but Eoe kinda ruins it for me*
Personally HvV still Tops
HvV was the best season!!!!!!!!! The feuds made it hilarious
1. Tony winning unanimously
2. No edge of extinction
3. A proper reunion show
Yess! I was waiting for this! All Hail Tony Vlachos!! The King of Survivor!👑
Thank you for making this vid Peridiam
Reem was robbed.
Reem. The real winner of the season. No! This entire show.
It would have been funny if she came back someway somehow
EoE could work but would need the following changes:
1. The exact advantages and disadvantages that can be sent back into the game need to be known upfront so they can be planned for in terms of players game strategy
2. All players pre merge get to duke it out to fill the post merge boot spot - 1 person gets back in the game and the rest go to Ponderosa
This would freshen up the 'we need to keep the strongest team' pre merge ideology
"No, I'm on a vacation on Fiji" only Tony would say that 😂😂
I was so sad about Yul, I've always loved him. Ethan, too!
Really really wish you had given Michele more credit! So many people downplay how hard it is to play from the bottom with little to no alliances. A GREAT player
to be honest we would appreciate a lot more game play and social dynamics shown to us
I LOVED the 21:00 segment
We are extremely blessed to witness Survivor 40 and your videos, Peridiam
Team Michelle btw ;)
