As a teacher, i want to be able to see the gallery beside the content im presenting. Is this possible? Right now, I cant see the gallery while screen sharing.
Is it possible to share your screen and watch your students simultaneously? Does Teams shut off when the computer is shut down? Or do I actually need to close out if Teams and sign back in to get the newest Teams features?
The new look is still not available for Linux and even the oldest features aren't even available please add the new features quickly

If u mean capturing ur screen in a class just click the three dots down below (while in a call) then share then u’ll find all sharing options and one of them is screen sharing

Love these features - especially the "End Meeting" :-)
Every Video talks about together mode, yet no one talks about how to get it! Except this one. Great stuff! Important Info for those not able to see the "Turn on new meeting experience" option under settings. It is currently rolling out to a few countries in the Education version of Teams not the Personal one! So the settings options depend on which ID you use to sign in with!

It's so helpful to see how to set the Together mode up. I've seen the feature introduced but none of them showed how to enable it.
Thank you for leaving the camera malfunctions in.... We just had a 30 person I.T. meeting at our University, played with the new features (Loved it) these thing do and will happen.

My students were struggling with how to JOIN a group in an MS Teams class I was running. I have a theory after watching this that they might have had older versions of Teams and so weren't getting the new window. But it would be helpful to have a video to show them. Maybe a "how to best take advantage of MS Teams as a student" video? (Joining groups, keeping track of fact that chat and conversation are different things. etc.

thanks again for a great video. It took me awhile to differentiate between the outlook version of TEAMS (gallery view only as default, while the Settings does not allow you to choose more) and the Downloaded TEAMS app (I had downloaded it multiple times but thought the computer automatically accesses it- no it does not). Once I "fell" into the right version of TEAMS, I easily found the Settings as you shared and how to select the Together view or whatever its called. It's almost midnight, but I am so happy to be able to share this with my team teachers next week.

That's the goal... it starts to resemble more what it's like presenting in front of a class.
Love your videos man! I think it would be very beneficial for your audience for you to take through the Teams group creation and the Sharepoint that comes free along with it. Personally I would like you to take us through how to change themes of a Sharepoint and to tweak stuff. Such as when I select a picture as the background, within 'Documents' all the folder lines in a list format has a separate overlaying background for itself. Could you please explain how to make it transparent? Many thanks!

I know that there is something that I can use to have students work in small groups and then come back to class. Have you done something like that?

Thanks, these features will make a difference, I am looking forward to them... That is my only niggle, I have to wait. Anyway, my favourite from the ones you showed is the simplest, that the buttons during a meeting will be shown at the top. That hovering thing has annoyed me many times.

Hi Kevin. Great content as usual! I am hoping you can do a video on inviting guests to a Teams team in your organisation who have Teams in their own organisation too. And how to then send meeting invitations on the back of inviting them to the team as a guest. This currently feels to me a somewhat cumbersome, error prone two-step rocket process where people often don't understand they have to accept the guest invitation first before being able to properly connect to the meeting in that Teams team, with all functionality of a full-fledged guest intact.

I love your videos. They are all very helpful. Nonetheless, I want to know if there is an easy way to join multiple teams at a time in one virtual meeting and post the invite to multiple teams at the same time.

Kevin! Good luck on your new chapter of life (being on your own with youtube income only). Could you make a playlist in your YT channel on MS Teams? Compared to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams is quite new and people need to have more resources to learn. Specifically, Teams for University Professors is a new trend. I'm giving you insider info. I'm one of the professors and many of my colleagues do not use Teams yet. It is a huge potential for you to address the need of LEARNING HOW TO USE Temas FOR ONLINE TEACHING BEFORE the new semester (2020 FAll) begins. God bless you!
This actually looks pretty cool! I'm gonna try the "Together Mode" when we have our virtual teacher inservice via Teams this Monday. I'll email you a screenshot of it! Also, if you ever need volunteers to be "Teams 'guinea pigs" for you in these kinds of demonstrations that require multiple participants, I'd love to help out & play a participant roll for you. I'm familiar with Teams bc that's what my school district has us use for virtual class instruction with our students. Just say the word & I'll send you my contact info.

The power of MS Teams is that it's a part of Microsoft 365, and I really like it. Featurewise, I've had most of these and then some in Webex where video and audio quality is still superior. Teams gets closer though, so I'd think it will be a hard fight between Teams, Webex and Zoom while others will struggle.
I'd love to see video on screen sharing in the new experience of Teams. Including the "focus" feature. It seems different from the previous Teams version.

I have never used Teams before, but there has been a plan for us to try it out for our club meetings next semester. All students get it free, but I assume it costs something for outsiders.

Question about focus mode.. from the student’s point of view would they too only see the PowerPoint minus the minimized pics of others? Also, does Teams have a speaker focus mode setting (similar to Zoom) that can be enabled to allow the speaker’s window to take up the entire screen when speaking? If so I would like to know how to enable that.

I'm a professor, our unversity just rolled out Teams using Office 365 and Sharepoint, which looks and feels different than the usual Team's desktop app. It would be wonderful if you did an eductators tutorial for this. ;) If it's at all possible! Thanks for sharing what you know with us!

Very well explained. I saw somewhere that in the together mode you can choose different backgrounds such as conference room. This would be for a small gathering of 3 to 4 participants?
Different backgrounds are coming soon for Together Mode. You need at least 5 participants to activate Together Mode.
