Lists, To Do and Planner. Microsoft has made a mess. You finally made it clear for me. Keep up the good work. You are a life-saver. You deserve a million subscribers, with the content you have.
@@chair56789 Yep. Am new to teams, and I've spent several days setting up multiple teams, but STILL can't figure out how to integrate Lists, Planner, calendar and To Do. Can't tell how to (easily) share between them. Don't want to onboard my teams and train them without determining best work flow. So frustrating! Help Kevin!!! :)
I am instrumental in a new startup that has applied for non-profit status. Kevin has impressed me so much I am recommending his videos for training our small crew. I am in Colorado and the Organization is in Fresno California. I just set up MS 365 on four laptops to get us started and Lists is going to be instrumental with our communications and collaborations. Thanks Kevin.
Your energy and the easy way you explain everything is so great. I am really trying to help move our small HR department from just Excel to this Office 365 and to improve our processes by getting the most out of what we already have. I see the potential, but I have a lot to learn about Power Automate and Power Apps among everything else. I always come back to your videos. Is there any way you can do some of these things from an HR angle? Thanks for what you do.
Thank you, Kevin, you Rock!!!!!!!!!!!! 16:43 switching the view of the SP list 17:27 setting permission to the SP list 17:35 right click to send an alert on the item ( when it is changed) 18:57 create a power automate to create a flow
@Saul Espinoza Do you have an updated link onto Microsoft Lists since I have problem with a calculated column formula. I have tried a lot of combinations for the syntax but when I hit the save button for the new column created with the Use Calculated Value checkbox checked and with default value filled with the formula " = ["01/2023"] + ["02/2023"]" for instance, I have at the bottom of the creation pane : "A formula has s spelling mistake or refers to a column that does not exist." and the columns 01/2023 and 02/2023 exist in my list. I you have help on this topic, I would really appreciate. Thx.
I’m an operations manager - had no idea Lists was an option ( face-palm moment)This has just Changed my workflow dramatically - I’ve used Notion and so many other forms to keep me organised - embarrassed but so excited.
This is fantastic. I haven’t been using Lists at all because we already use Planner on my team and I didn’t know how Lists was different. I’m changing the workflow for our team based on your video. Thank you!
Couldn't do it without you Kevin!!!! Thanks Microsoft for Kevin Stratvert!! I am a Site Lead for Afterschool Program I keep looking for more tips from you to apply in the program?? Keep up the good work..
Hey Kevin , great content you create! I'm struggling to create formulas in Lists, all information is outdated and I can't seem to find a guide that explains how to create formulas like adding the values of two columns in aa third one or diving the values of two columns and placing it in a third one ;) I would appreciate guidance or if you have a video made about this? Thank you
Hi, Kevin, I'm watching a lot of videos from you, thank you so much for all your insightful demonstrations - they are really helpful in doing my job. May I request something? I've checked on Microsoft Project, and it would be great if you could make a video on Microsoft and also compare with Lists;) Thank you - Merry Christmas and happy new year ;)
hi kevin i'm mark i wanted to say you that your explaination is incredible that makes me feel very interesting amazing keep on doing more videos thank you so much
Dear kevin Everytime I open my youtube, your videos are either first or second on list and Everytime I get to know that Microsoft has launched a new app. Thanks for the updates
Great work on the voice over while showing content, flow felt good and it was very informative and looking forward to a future video's on short cuts and cool tips for this app. Thank you for this.
Awesome explanation! Really like your videos! Simple question on the assets management. How do create a simple check in and check out inventory scheme? After I add a list with equipment, how do other employees see list and check out equipment themselves? Thanks!
Hey Kevin, can you do a tutorial about exporting from Microsoft List? Specifically, exactly what data will get exported vs what doesn't. For example, do comments left in a list get exported or when there have been changes or revisions made within a list?
Well done Kevin, once again a great video. The Lists app doesn’t seem to be available yet through Office 365 for Business in Australia. I’d welcome your views on whether Lists could be used as a CRM tool for businesses that don’t have MS Dynamics?
Kevin, this is a great video. You briefly mention that it is available on Apple or Android. Is that just a browser window that detects the UI of the User is a cellphone and thus modifies the UI/UX to fit a phone?
The more interesting question is: how can you explain the difference between Excel und Lists to end users? Despite the fact that you can use workflows there is a problem in explaining why lists are better in some cases.
Hey Kevin, love your videos! I'm wanting to leverage lists to create a new hire onboarding plan. I love the simplicity of Lists, as well as the ability to assign tasks. However, what I'm not seeing, is a way to move line items or easily insert a new row. Is there a way to do this & I'm just missing it? Also, how do we easily duplicate the list so we have a fresh plan for each new hire? Thank you!
I've never heard of MS Lists, but am thinking it could solve an issue I'm pondering. Great tutorial (as always)!! I'm off to learn about Power Automate 😃 Thanks so much, Kevin!
Thanks for posting this. I definitely am going to share out this video with my management team so they know this exists. Except, I do not see Lists yet in our tenant
Hi Kevin, first, thanks for so many of your videos! Second, do you happen to know when or if we can use custom list templates (beyond using an existing list, I want the rows to already be there when I make a new list)? I have been able to find how to save my list as a template, but cannot figure out how to use my saved custom templates.
Hello Kevin, big thumb up for all the (always) useful information ! Thanks to you, I started to use it. The ideal product to follow our projects ! Any idea when MS Lists will be available for Android ?
Hey Kevin, I've just tried Microsoft Lists with Microsoft Teams. It is quite fun at the beginning. I'm going to share with my buddy in office next Monday.
Great tutorial, I have a question, if you have a list made in Microsoft Lists and want to have the same list into a sharepoint site, there is a way to connetc it to sharepoint site?
Yeah it was kind of interesting when he first left Microsoft his user account went down and then it started climbing rapidly! Yesterday I told our entire School District over 900 teachers via the chat in WebEx about Kevin's Channel.
Hi Kevin, I've learned so much from your channel. Unreal! Thanks so much! Keep it up PLEASE! Just a quick question. Any chance to get info about "create column" -> "Task Outcome".? I'm looking to add or subtract column values and showníng the difference between the two without exporting the list into excel. It would be great if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks again and stay safe.
Hi Kevin, your videos are great! Can I create a list and assign tasks to a group of people, allowing each person to interact with their respective task independently, without it being visible to others? It would be great if you could let me know. Thanks!
This is really great, thanks. I am looking how to create subgroups in lists. Example would be a FAQ list where you would group questions of a same topic under the same heading. When you click on the heading, all your questions related to that particular topic would open.
This looks pretty good. Thanks for giving us this tutorial. One question that crosses my mind is whether the list can be shared with someone outside of my organization. The Lists app might be useful for sharing an issue/punch list on a project with a customer we deliver to (not part of our organization). Thanks.
Thanks for the tutorial!! You said it's possible to create an automated flow to add a new line item when something happens (for example, I'd like to add a new line item whenever a specified email comes in). How do I do that? Thanks!
Kevin, you always have great content, many thanks. Is there a way of using lookup columns in Lists? For example, if there's a parent/child relationship between two lists (or more), is it possible to model this relationship?
Thanks for the tutorial, very useful as always. When will we be able to migrate a list from one sharepoint to a new sharepoint maintaining the metadata and configurations?
thanks Kevin for the video and I hope if you can go with something more deltas, kindly I would ask for the rules, as in my account add for column values not available, do I have to request it from Microsoft or I can add from the setting, appreciate your kind support
I would like to see a full feature video where lists are connected with MS Forms, Lists, Power Automate, Teams - a beginning to end scenario. Is there something alreadys created?
Can't wait for the full roll out and standalone apps. Have loads of projects waiting to be converted from Excel Tables into manageable list with documentation attachments / links and photos to manage project assets that can be shared.
Thank you for this video! Can we create notifications for new entries that are specific? For example, depending on the managers name that is entered on a form, an email will trigger to only that person so they know they have a new entry specifically for them.
Very useful and the strength is flexibility to various tasks. I have been using Excel for enlisting and describing my literature, but this is more productive. Thank you again Kevin.
Kevin, how do you set a list to automatically change status based on date? If the due date passes, the item would switch from green to red to indicate that it is past due. Is that power automate or would I create a rule?
Hi Kevin, thanks for sharing. I do see you have the option filters filled in with 'franchiser'. When I try it, I do not have a filter nor can I add one. Do you have info on how to get the same filter pane as you showed in the video? Thanks!
Hi Kevin, thank you for the video. Could you a more detailed one. Like explaing the different fomratting options : like the country option, when I select, I cannot find how use it next or when I was trying to make my first list I realised that the 1st default cannot be deleted nor the formatting for the same can be changed. Your inputs on these matter would be great help for people like to use Lists. I have learnt so much from your videos
Thank you, I have several properties which are managed by 7 different individuals. I would like to connect the properties to the person who is managing them however, I would like to create 1 form that would feed into the correct manager.
Lists, To Do and Planner. Microsoft has made a mess. You finally made it clear for me. Keep up the good work. You are a life-saver. You deserve a million subscribers, with the content you have.
Agreed. Planner is quite good but why so many apps?

Glad I’m not the only one confused, seems like they have a bunch of apps that compete with each other instead of working together

Thanks, Kevin. This was another great production of yours. Keep it up!

Thanks for this! I look forward to more videos about list setting up a ticketing system and possibly using power automate
Good summary of lists, with quick examples and distinction s that help round out the definition
Dear kevin
Everytime I open my youtube, your videos are either first or second on list and Everytime I get to know that Microsoft has launched a new app. Thanks for the updates
This channel is top notch ! Great Information that makes things simple. Thank you Kevin

Excellent tutorial. Thanks. Subscribed
Hi Kevin,
Most of your videos are very useful and resourceful. Thank you for creating such helpful and informative contents.
Awesome explanation! Really like your videos! Simple question on the assets management. How do create a simple check in and check out inventory scheme? After I add a list with equipment, how do other employees see list and check out equipment themselves? Thanks!

GREAT tutorial, gonna give a killer demo to my team tomorrow. thx
Amazing guide, thanks for this.
Thank you, Kevin! As always, your video was easy to follow and super informative.
Hi Kevin, great instructions. Do you have one to explain how move a List and all its contents to another channel ?
Well done Kevin, once again a great video. The Lists app doesn’t seem to be available yet through Office 365 for Business in Australia.
I’d welcome your views on whether Lists could be used as a CRM tool for businesses that don’t have MS Dynamics?
Very helpful, great and full of knowledge. It's totally worth it.
Awesome, So nicely taught, thanks Kevin!
Hi Kevin...this video is really helpful. Can we create a dependent drop-down list? If yes how can we do that
Awesome!! There's finally a big jump of lists. Thanks for sharing.
Kevin, this is a great video. You briefly mention that it is available on Apple or Android. Is that just a browser window that detects the UI of the User is a cellphone and thus modifies the UI/UX to fit a phone?

Wasn't that interested in Lists until I watched this. Very nice presentation Kevin.

Thanks Kevin, another useful video! QQ: Can you create lists within lists?

Thanks for this video. Can you please explain me how can we use the tags in list?
Hi everyone, Kevin here, today I wanna show you....

As well is list good for personal use like clean track of bills , chores, and general things to do in a personal life. I like the video
Amazing content! I subbed. looking forward to learning more.

Thank you for sharing this. Do you know if it is possibile to fill in a powerpoint from a sharepoint list? How to do?
Thanks Kevin for putting this video together 😊 May I know if MS List only limited to Office Insiders? I can’t seem to find it in my Office 365.
Great Video. Is there anyway to add attachment to the list / line (or let authorised user add attachment) ?
Kevin, you always have great content, many thanks.
