These it’s both paintings are wonderful!!! My whole art practice changed after doing a 100 day challenge (many years ago). Challenges are a wonderful way to hone your skills and establish a good work habit & flow. I still often do challenges, lately I have been enjoying doing challenges of painting from a reference photo: “create this in your style” - I just love seeing how everyone paints the same reference so differently- it’s really fun to do!
I love that you did a 100 day challenge and learned so much from it! Isn't that so cool that you go into it thinking one way, and come out the other end of a challenge and learn so much more! Also, you're current challenges of painting from reference photos is amazing (and I have a video coming up about that too!).
I did a 30 days challenge with pastels once and love it. Now i am doing a 100 days on a small sketchbook 3.5”x5” with all the mediums I have: tombows, watercolor, gouache, pastels, pilots. I am learning so much.
Hey Jaclyn! I love the idea of painting tiny. I’ve only ever tried it twice. It seems to be a trend these days to do tiny paintings. LanaGoesArt also did a video about tiny paintings a few days ago.
Do you clean your palette just with water? I thought Acryla gouache is not water soluble after drying. Or it isn't? Thank you for the video! I need to get back into my drawing routine and challenge is a good thing to do, I think. ❤😊
You are correct, acrylic gouache isn’t water soluble. I like to soak my palettes in warm soapy water and then throw away the paint since it would be bad to put down the drain!! I do the same with my paint water, I let it settle after a day or two and then pour off top water and throw away dried paint!!
Mini indeed! And they turned out great-thanks for the tips!
Definitely mini paintings! Thank you so much for watching. I’m glad the tips help!
