I love a look behind the scenes! Those still life’s really make me want to revisit the subject🤗 (I do mostly landscapes) Loved all the colors and patterns🩷 Thanks for tagging us a long (I know it must have been a lot of extra work)
I love seeing your still life paintings and some of your new ones. They are my favorites! BUT, I fell in love with your self portrait. That is amazing with the bold marks and lines! I had one of those aprons years ago from my mother, but I don’t know where it went. I have a pattern to make another, but haven’t done it yet. Your mom is such a treasure and so talented in her own right. The fabric choices were chef’s kiss! Thank you, Sandi for sharing your splendid artist’s life with all of us. You are loved! Prayers for your health🙏🏻
Oh, Sandi, this video has really refueled my soul! I absolutely love watching your art moments of your life, they’re always so inspiring, and you sharing your joy for creating is very generous. You definitely are a true inspiration and I hope that one day I’ll also be able to find people who resonate with my art. Lots of love from Spain!!💙💙💙💙💙
I was so excited a few minutes ago when I logged in to see that I had a Sandi Hester video ---YAHOO!!! I love your Still lif.e's & there's just something so comforting in a tablescape painting. Your portraits are Amazing. That apron is the cutest thing ever. I wouldn't want to get paint on it either ---your Mom is a wonderful sewer.
All of those stages of the portrait are great! The textile decision on the still life was like the banana, juicer, bread and basket were the pants and the patterns were blouse options. Hope you are having/have a great time abroad. Thank you for sharing!
Sandi, I love hearing what you have to say about your process and what inspires you. There's never a "too much info" moment when it's about your artwork and process. The people want to hear what you have to say! Haha :- )
I think I squealed a little when I saw you’d uploaded! I look forward to your videos so much! I waited until I had no distractions to watch. I just used my hello plate for the first time this week and I loved it! I’m planning on more prints! ❤
Another amazing video, I wasn’t expecting one, assuming you were about to be in Italy, I don’t know how you keep up and get so much done but I’m so grateful you do and share bits of your life with us! Thanks Sandi.
I`m sooo happy when I see a new upload from you! Your videos are really inspiring me, thousand thanks🙏🥰 and i love your still life paintings and dont get enough of it :D
I was inspired to doodle while listening and watching! Too fun. Love the apron! I’ve been very sick the past weeks with chronic bronchitis and today is the first day I do any creative stuff other than binge watch art videos so thanks Sandi!
I need to learn your upload schedule. I love your videos and can never wait for the next one. I am not an artist but I have been loving playing with art supplies since finding your channel. My children are joining me on this and also love your videos. We watch and paint together. Thank you!
Creating videos with all of the editing, etc, is a TON of work, especially along with all of the other things we have to do in life. Every other week is awesome- thank you for sharing as much as you do! Love your authenticity.
I've been subscribed to your channel for a number of months, maybe a year, I can't recall, but I don't check in regularly. I just wanted to say--as I have just checked in today--that I love your paintings! They VIVIDLY express your obvious love of life and the world around us, of the bounty and beauty of the world! Thank you for your joyful paintings, and for taking us through your process and thinking as you make them.
Just picked up In Her Studio magazine…and my most favorite artist, Sandi Hester..was featured….such a great article!!! What a wonderful example of women creating!!! ❤
Wow Sandi, thank you for sharing these snippets of your artmaking for the week. Your work is always so interesting and cheery. They make me smile. Take care of yourself, I look forward to your next vid.
I had a dream where I bumped into you making a painting, but the painting that you were working on was one I'd already seen you work on in on of your youtube videos. So I realised I'd time travelled. Love it, thank you Sandi and your amazing paintings and videos!
You mean zoom online classes? Zoom is great because you have a discussion place so students can post their work and you can offer suggestions. I’m excited about your classes.
I love your studio vlogs and I absolutely love your studio, it looks like such an inspiring environment to create in😍 Your still life paintings are glorious and I love your colourful self portrait. Thank you for sharing🙏🏼
Love a good Bits of an Artists Life video its 217AM note to self don't watch Sandi in middle of the night she's too inspiring I wanna get up and paint lol
Great video Sandi, really fun and interesting. I like the behind the scenes stuff because we all have behind the scenes even if we aren’t professional artists. Thank you.
New subbie, not sure why this popped up but loving your style, attitude, sharing and spirit. God bless!! I suggest Fabriano Fat Pad watercolor paper, I don’t even think about starting a (few) new piece(s) because it’s such a great value. Takes gesso well for acrylic painting or mixed media, or just jump in and play! 25% cotton, 9x12, $25 or less (got mine on Dick Blick)
I love your self portrait! Everything with your painting was a treat, as usual, but the portrait stood out to me. Have a great two weeks! Always look forward to your videos. They are my favorites! I've watched them all. :-)
I love all of your videos, but ive missed the "normal life" vlogs. They are honestly my favorite. Sometimes when im experiencing mental overwhelm, watching someone paint and seeing them go about their day is so calming.
Watching you is so inspiring, but by the time I see your videos (in Austria) the comments are already full with the things that go through my head while watching. 😀 But I have one question left. If I see correctly, you are using acrylics in those little square pots (put into a biger plastic container). Does that “system” seal the acrylics enough to not dry out? Or are they not acrylics at all. They also look very flat (in a good way),a bit like Gouache. Thank you for your support ❤
I’m not following your question unfortunately. In my acrylics online class I explain all about my acrylics including how I store them. That might answer more of your questions
@@sandihester thank you Sandi! I am an artist myself and merely wanted to know, if the paints that you are using at 7:14 are acrylics or Gouache. And if they are acrylics, if they stay wet in those - what seems to me airtight - containers, because I have not found yet the perfect system to keep my acrylics wet. Which does not mean, that I am not interested in your courses. Just not this particular one. thank you again!😊
Hi Sandi! I love your videos…binge watching them with popcorn! 🧚💜😊🍄🌻🍁Your art is stunning! Does Flashe paint have less odor than acrylic? My lungs can’t handle acrylic anymore.😔
I'm sure you won't believe but I literally thought this week Sandi hasn't done still life for ages and I used to really like her still life paintings ! Super satisfied with this one.
My OCD kicks in every time I see your studio. I have to hold back my urge to clean and organize. But I am also an artist and understand the chaotic mess. Great paintings. When sharing can you give us the brands of the paint you use? The color is so wonderfully bright and colorful and doesn’t dry a darker shade.
I love faces in not regular skin colors. I got a copy of In Her Studio where you’re the first featured artist! Next, sometime, I hope you’ll have a book!
I am curious, what is the advantage of stretching Your own canvas vs buying ready made ? I get you can make different sizes but is there something else that you find beneficial? Thank you❤
Hi, Sandi! Can you tell me what the tool you're using at 07:26 is called? I've been searching for one like yours for a few years now, and I'm not having any luck. The closest true art supply store is a four hour drive to Los Angeles, and I'm not crazy about driving in that madhouse traffic! I live that the set contains the red lens, too! I enjoyed the video, and I adore the first girl portrait! The girl with braided hair is cute too! I'm praying for you!
Oh Sandi, this ended too fast today. I was really loving you all over the place each day and had such enjoyment watching you create. Can I ask please, where did you buy your easel? Looking forward as always to more of your work here and on Instagram. Kathleen.
PS: Sandy ---I forgot to tell you what a great article on you in Where Women Create. I just bought mine last Sunday at JoAnn Fabric & when I opened it up at home to read it I let out a scream & scared my husband to death, LOL!!!! he said What's wrong are you OK? I laughed & said Sandy Hester is featured in this issue. He knows how much I enjoy your videos. We both had a good laugh & he just said "Women". lol
I wonder if you and Emily P have inspired eachother? Her recent still lives remind me of yours and your more flat and patterned ones remind me of hers!❤
The excitment that shot through my body when this popped up in my notifications nearly lifted me off my chair 😂
Ohhh my - that made me so happy!

So nice, Sandi. Not feeling well today, so I'm cozied up on my couch watching your channel, and this new one popped up. Yay!
