The appearance of Moza bases is one of the best, IMO. They managed to make it a compact brick, but still add some design elements to go beyond flat aluminum surfaces.
Brilliant wheel base I have the v1 it's solid feels the same now as when I first used it 3 years now. Never had a problem with it. Definitely recommend simagic.
@@kmsthanksno never used the v3 but people say that the v1 was stronger as they toned it down for the v3 but I don't no how true that is, they obviously both 10nm but apparently the v1 was reported to kick out 13nm.
@@kmsthanks no never used the v3 but you would think it should be better being a v3 in some way but I'm happy with mine. Never gets hot like a lot say and I run it at 100 percent but tone it down in the game to about 9nm to avoid clipping.
I have the Alpha 15nm and the CAN-BUS port can only be used with SIMAGIC peripherals. The wheelbase is connected to a SIMAGIC Wheelbase CAN Extender, which is connected to a SIMAGIC P2000-HCB which is used to run two SIMAGIC Haptic Pedal Reactors which are mounted to two Heusinkveld pedals. This connection allows me to turn the P2000-HCB on and off via Wheelbase switch.
i was looking at these with the intention of picking one up in the sales after xmas. simmagic didnt do any sales after xmas. i got an asetek forte base and wheel for £1100 while the mini and same (ish) spec wheel would of been £1060. aseteks quick release and usb hub/passthru ability is a massive bonus and has helped cable management massively. not something i had considered before using it.
Compared to the fanatec base, the size difference really comes down to the fins providing more cooling, also my simagic definitely runs hotter for it so worth mentioning
@hatray4540 appreciate that, just stating simagic runs hotter which in comparison to csl dd is likely due to the fins, which causes the device to be physically bigger, without the fins they would be very similar. I'm not saying this is a problem but simply a design choice.
@@hatray4540I can say this is not true after my 24h race 🤣 after around 16hours I definitely noticed an decrease in power though it probably started earlier and I didn't realize immediately. Still, not complaining, my arms probably needed that reprieve. I was running probably around 5/6nm with a lot of effects on if those were wondering
Got the alpha in black friday... great wheel but it does run hot sometimes, when my heating is on and ive noticed a bit of a weird noise and feeling.. been working away so il check it tomorrow when I get home, also heard it could be due to other programs on my pc... if I could id probably go vnm or the new vrs base...would of had assetek but their wheels and base look ugly as f... I do feel at this price range any direct drive wheel is gonna feel excellent we get pulled in by all the reviewers sometimes but ive had amazing drives with this wheel and simagics ecosystem is another reason why I picked simagic
@cater4anytink45 you have to lower some settings. If you run some settings too high then they do run very hot. They never loose power though. If you are getting clanking you have to smooth out the signal and Def lower the speed and inertia.
252 watts!!! That’s interesting, I have the V3 alpha mini also and it came with a 237 watt power supply. Absolutely love it but now I want the 252 power supply 😂
Oddly enough, I believe the 252W version is an older one. As far as I know the newest ones all come with 237W but it could be region specific. I bought mine Black Friday 2024 and it's a 237W PSU.

I love my Alpha 15nm base! Absolutely beautiful in every aspect

If you have ever used a v3, does it feel stronger than it?
Me to. Feels Solid as a warship

they tested it and its no difference on Nm power when its hot or not after some time setting it up to 100%

Yeah, my alpha 15nm definitely gets hotter than my CSLDD did to the touch, but it doesn't matter realky, it's well within operating range.

What is the difference between v3 and other versions?
Restricted to 10nm instead of 13 with new power supply and and better circuitry but now it manages overheating a lot better according to simagic
No difference I have measured both to be 13.5nm
This is a lie going around. I am the only one to measure both and they are the same.
@Max__apex Damn, I guess I'll be going with the alpha ultimate for my next direct drive then just to be safe!

Until the guy behind you rams you off then no wheel will save anyone haha
@@Max__apexhow can I test this?
which one do you like more this or the logitech g pro?

This unit was shipped directly from Simagic, so that would make me think it is whatever the latest version is.
That port is canbus
V3? I didn't even know they made a V2
much much better the Simagic size.
