  • Riddles just joined Team Liquid and spent some time at my life, so we all knew what was coming next! He's clearly the best shoto player out there in Ultimate, but will his skills transfer to a different Smash title? I've been helping teach him Melee, so lets see how he's doing!

but it's cool that he's trying new things out either way
im tired of people thinking that just because games can be hard at higher level means that some people just can't get into them, or that theyre depth is unreasonable, when literally all you need is to just try it, and practice for once

Melee has a really high skill ceiling, and the skill floor isn’t really much higher than other fighting games, it’s just getting over the first little hump of the “feel”.

Jump from ledge is often called the "tournament winner" in Melee because it is usually just a really bad option. It has a ton of lag on it, meaning it is VERY easy to punish. Some characters will almost land back on the stage before they are out of lag (I'm pretty sure Fox only has a few frames). It is useful in some very specific situations (the jump riddles does here is not one of those), but generally is never a good option.
