I just realized, while I find many UA-cam videos music selection annoying. I always like yours. It’s not overbearing or annoying and the builds and music are very relaxing. Another great one.

A lot of times I watch the videos and don't realize how tiered I am after a big lunch until he gets to the painting of the transmission and the music that is playing. 😴 It's like a lullaby.

    Bravo for the closing remarks.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but I've been in the hobby since the '70s. I'd rather see 100 people building models the way you do, than only 10 the way I do.

Chris's point is that you build what you want, the way you want to. Also, he's building a particulat kit out of the box. What's the point of stopping the build to go looking for a different engine or another set of wheels?

Nice build! Something about the '49-'52 Fords that I always liked. My older brother's first car was a '49, just like this one, except painted black. One Saturday night, returning from a roller rink in a nearby town, he and his buddy and their girl friends all fell asleep while driving, drifted across the center line, hit a parked car, glanced off and hit a telephone pole, ricocheted off that and crashed into a brick wall. The Highway Patrol officer who was waiting for my dad when we went to see the car at the wrecking yard said he was shocked that anybody survived. I was only 10 years old and my mouth dropped open when I saw that the driver's side front wheel and tire were where the driver should have been. All four passengers were unhurt except for a couple of lacerations and a bruised knee. Those cars were tough back then! This video now makes me want to build one in remembrance of my brother. Thanks for your good work and effort to bring us these videos.

Chris’s use of rattle cans spray, brush, pens, enamel and acrylics, washes, gloves and bare hands is really neat. Materials and techniques to use the next time in my stash.Do it your way and enjoy it. Sometimes I zoom in on the view to really see what and how your are doing things. And a story or reasons for doing it your way. Really nice and relaxing, the music, too. Some of the tunes have a “Gordon Lightfoot” feel. All good.

I remember when Round 2 Models came back out with this car back in 2008(?). I built it as an early 70s street cruiser. Bright yellow paint, deep dish Torq Thrust wheels and wide tires. I added those popular bullet type side mirrors. I used the custom tube grille and smooth front and rear end without the bumpers. I shaved the side trim. I had to cut out the rear quarter areas for the bigger tires to fit. Almost like the box art shown on your kit. I will build a stock version someday. I really do appreciate the beauty of these bone stock classic cars.

My dad and older brother had about a dozen or more 49-51 Fords back when i was much younger. For my part, ive put together about that many of these kits over the years, and still have about 5 or 6 fresh vintage ones in the boxes going back to the Barris edition kits. ALWAYS a pleasure to watch your videos, and see YOUR spin on how YOU put it all together. Be it an old familiar kit, or a totally new tooling.

Love this build. 1964, my kid brother had a '49 coupe, in grey. Many a Monday I'd have to borrow it to drive to work as I'd "hurt" my car at the drags that weekend. I actually loved driving the car - smooth, easy, just enough power to keep me out of trouble. Anyway, I digress. You nailed this model in every way (scuffing up the right front white wall from bad parking and it would have been an exact match). Thanks again for all your work building, filming, editing and posting to UA-cam - like clock work.

Awesome video! I have an older version of this kit. Was building it as Robert Mitchums car from 1958's Thunder Road. All was going well until I found I had the wrong engine and couldn't find the interior color. It's still sitting in the box to this day. Started that build in 2004. Now I have the correct engine for it so one day it might get completed...

Looking good.... Got to love the '49 Ford....remember working on one back in school, mid 80's, car shop class, learning how to paint cars etc., man did it have loads of filler on it! 😳😲😆😂
Think we painted it bright red if I remember correctly....working on one of their earlier releases, bit of a red light warrior, matt black and other things....need to get back to it!
Is that spray booth doing its thing, looks like it's been around since 1781 and Yorktown! 😉😆😂
Just thinking about your health my friend....
On to the next project! 🤜🏻🤛🏻🍻

I had this kit back when it was new, first issued by AMT. I built it as a vintage dirt track stock car racer. Painted it yellow, weathered it, used a soldering iron to make dents. Left off the bumpers and made crash guards from some of the styrene. It turned out pretty good.

Hip Guy, I love your build style! I've built this 49 Ford as a drag car every time over the years since I started building as a kid in the 1960s, but your stock build is very slick! Next go round I believe I will do the same. Also, I love the music you use for background, as a life- long musician and huge fan of slide guitar and dobro music, your videos relax me and help me concentrate on what you are doing, your attitude regarding building out of the box without sweating the mold lines etc. is a refreshing change. I've been subscribed for almost a year and look forward to all your builds. I'd love to see some drag car related stuff, but will look forward to any builds you choose to show....

This was one of my first car models. I got this kit along with the 66 Mustang coupe. This one came moulded in a light blue plastic and the Mustang in white. Painting wasn't allowed as my Mom didn't want me to get paint on the kitchen table. I believe I was 9 or 10 at the time 1966-67
My actual first model was an aircraft - the Spirit of St. Louis and the second was a sailing ship - the Mayflower. The two cars were numbers 3 and 4.
