I found it funny that Lisa Marie at first slammed Sofia Coppola's script for making Elvis look bad in this movie when the movie was told entirely from how Priscilla views Elvis as an ex husband. Just because he was a good father to Lisa Marie doesn't mean that he was a good husband to Priscilla. Two people have a different perspective on the same person 🤷

    • @scorpioj3

    • @PlanR

Lisa Marie made it clear that she felt that way because she didn't want them to paint her father in a bad light, which is something that most people understandably don't want or don't want to face even if it's true. But the main reason Lisa Marie was opposed to this movie being made was just because of the negative attention it would draw to her family, and she didn't want to put her kids through the negative press that would come from it. She always wanted her children to have normal lives, and not have to live in the shadow of their grandfather's legacy. Something that arguably they've already been through, and I'm sure didn't help the situation her son was in when she lost him to suicide. Besides Riley, she has two other daughters who are barely teenagers now, and she didn't want them to have to deal with the backlash of a movie that drew everyone's eyes to the worst aspects of their grandfather's character. Her first priority was always to protect her children, and whether you agree or disagree with the merits of this film, I hope we can all agree that her reasoning was valid. There's no reason to pit mother against daughter here. Just let them live, and Lisa rest in peace.

@@PlanR Well people can watch Elvis from Baz Luhrmann if she wants people to see Elvis in the lightest way as possible eventhough that movie also focuses on Elvis' addiction to drugs, cheating and alcohol all that stuff but atleast it still champions what his career was like. But still, whenever someone makes something good like Elvis, there's always going to be a darker side of the person involved.

YOU MADE THE MISTAKE OF BELIEVING PRISCILLA's nonsense without researching. Elvis WAS NOT WITH PRISCILLA when she was 14. There WAS NO RELATIONSHIP OF ANY KIND. Elvis was in love with Anita Wood when she was 14. PRISCILLA was the predator. Elvis and Lisa Marie were the victims. There is NO EYEWITNESS OR EVIDSENCE TO ANY OF PRISCILLA'S accusations. ZERO.
Elvis KNEW that Priscilla was a DISHONEST GOLD DIGGER. And so did many people around Elvis. This is a ONE SIDED film OF LIES, COVERING UP HER LIES. Elvis WAS RIGHT:
CREDIBILITY FAIL #1: Priscilla stole from Lisa Marie's trust fund by paying herself $900,000, out of Lisa Marie's trust fund WITHOUT HER KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT!! Total financial damage: $16 million.
CREDIBILITY FAIL #2: It's believed now that Marco Garibaldi/Garcia EMBEZZLED $15 MILION from Lisa Marie's trust fund. Co-trustees Priscilla Wagner Beaulieu and Barry Siegel pressured Lisa Marie to sell 85% of her EPE-shares because it would be financially advantageous for them as trustees of Lisa Marie's trust fund. Never mind Lisa Marie's financial interests!
CREDIBILITY FAIL #3: After taxes Lisa Marie had $45 MILLION left from the sale of her EPE-shares. That money was squandered by Barry Siegel; he invested it in his own company, that went broke. He never paid Lisa Marie back.
CREDIBILITY FAIL #4: After all her uncorroborated accusatory nonsense that Elvis was a creepy child molestor --- she DEMANDS --- IN COURT OF LAW --- TO BE BURIED RIGHT NEXT TO HIS COFFIN SIDE BY SIDE FOR ETERNITY IN HIS BACKYARD.. moving Elvis' beloved mother and fathers resting places!!!! ....... even though she divorced him 50 years ago and has had a child with another man and her own life with other people for half a century.
Priscilla ruined her own credibility when she stole millions of dollars from Elvis trust without her own daughters consent. She stole from her child. She is an untrustworthy gold digger and fraudster.

So interesting to think about this as Elvis being a villain. Whenever my parents spoke about the Elvis/Priscilla relationship (the stars from their generation), they would frame it as if Priscilla had horrible parents and home life and he married her as a way to “save her” from that and that it only got physical later. They spoke about the 50s and 60s as a time where it was common for people in high school to get married, and that it was also a common way for girls to find a way to leave a bad home life. They spoke about it being so openly known, and yet I don’t see that theory represented in the comments.
So I wonder how common that story was. Also, I wonder when the concept of young groupies following bands started becoming more normalized too.

Whether this film is a heap of lies from Priscilla or not, I will not be watching it. It is important to consider the fact that Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker, was a con man of the highest order - he spun everything that Elvis did in every way that worked to their (his) benefit. So, he relied heavily on the fact that plenty of girls got married right out of high school = Elvis and Priscilla are suddenly relatable, and yet, because of celebrity status they are also unique and their situation is set apart/"necessary for their love." Basically, Parker spun horse manure into gold. And it saved Elvis' mythos, butt, and future. If he'd been outed for the grooming pe*oph*lic behavior that he engaged in (e.g. having pillow fight parties with 12 and 13 year olds brought up to the mansion, getting a 14 year old pregnant while on tour and dumping her at a paid off doctor's with money for an abortion in the middle of the night before he went into the Army, and of course, everything he said and did publically and privately to manipulate and control Priscilla previous to their marriage), his career would have ended as it begun. To this very day, the Presley estate is still weaving tall tales to continue the mythos of this beloved abusive monster.
Just one of those tales is the myth (accompanied by his Bible on display at his Tupelo homeplace, Elvis singing old gospel songs on stage, the HBO documentary "The Searcher," etc.) that Elvis followed the teachings of the Christian faith. He absolutely did NOT. He was a M*son*c, Ros*cr*cian Theosophical Satanist who followed the teachings of Alice Bailey, Madame Blavatsky, Aleister Crowley, and many other Lucif*rian teachers. His entire life was an esoteric exercise of "Do what thou wilt" = Aleister Crowley's ultimate summation of the Satanic Law, given to him by Satan himself (also known to Aleister as his "Holy Guardian Angel," and "AIWAZ/AIWASS"). Elvis was obsessed with "The Voice" (the Luciferian magazine he kept a subscription to), and he named his vocal back-up group in homage after it. He had his stage outfits modeled after drawings and paintings of the New Age Lucif*rian Ascended Masters, and adorned with ancient esoteric/L*ciferian/Satanic symbols. He and the Mafia members had a celebratory picture taken together after their initiation into the Ros*cr*cian secret order. They are all wearing their roses and pins, plain as day (they must have assumed the general public wouldn't know or recognize what was right in front of their eyes). He claimed he was God to his Memphis Mafia, and even manipulated the weather in front of them. He was always trying to read their minds, and more than once tried to influence them to k*ll others for him. As a parting gift to Priscilla, she claims that he forced himself on her (he r*ped her) when she told him she was leaving him for another - most people don't bring that up when they reference her book, "Elvis and Me," the book this film is based on. And lastly, according to Ginger Alden, his girlfriend who found his body, Elvis died reading an esoteric/Satanic book on sex magic. While the author was a modern one, sex magic was the bedrock of Aleister Crowley's spiritual practices and worship of Satan.
At this point, I just have to stand back and say, "What a way to go." He DEFINITELY did things "his way" while singing "My Way." He did not honor Jesus Christ at all. But that's this world's normal. What Satanic artist out there nowadays doesn't have their own gospel and Christmas album? "Ya gotta make the people happy." "Give 'em what they want," so we'll shut up and accept anything and everything from the artists we're captivated and hypnotized by. Apparently, a random Southern gospel album will do. "Awwww, he's in touch with his roots, isn't that sweet?!" Meanwhile, Priscilla the Scientologist (Scientology's creator, L. Ron Hubbard, was a Satanist who claimed he was Lucifer incarnate after Crowley died, btw), Riley, her niece, and the rest of them are counting on the deception (and your hard-earned money) - that that worn out mythos will still work its charm, and his mask/legend won't slip and fall away. My question to the world is: How many people does it still work on?
P.S. The above was written by an ex-Elvis fan of 36 years. Danced as a toddler to his voice, listened to every song, watched every film, visited Graceland, sat on his bed in the Lisa Marie, owned rooms full of memorabilia, every album he recorded, endless books and photography stills, wore his scarves around my neck, was written about in the local newspaper, and was even given a piece of his bathroom carpet as a gift (he renovated his bathroom shortly before he died in it, and the carpet was cleaned and divided into sections for each Official Elvis Fan Club Chapter). Put it all into trash bags and took it to the dump. No regrets. I feel a beautiful freedom and peace. 👍👍

I have to admit this is really getting to me. I literally just ordered the book on Amazon, because I do want to know what happened. Yes 24 and 14 is not okay, it's wrong. I'll be honest I love the Elvis movie and I do consider myself an Elvis fan, I love his voice and his style. In my head I admit I had made up this fantasy world and wore rose colored glasses when it comes to Elvis Presley and Priscilla. The more I think about the fact that he as a 24 year old "dated" a 14 year old girl and that he according to the film and the book (which I haven't read or seen yet) abused her, the more I just feel so uncomfortable. It's like this house of glass is shattering, the more I find out about reality, it really messes with your perception of things, insane.

Elvis had issues, that’s true. So would anyone in his shoes. But Priscilla’s stories and accounts are so skewed and most of it is straight up lies. If you listen to the REAL accounts of all the people that knew Elvis, it’s evident that she’s just an attention-hungry, hateful person with a victim mentality. Her own family contradicts what she says. Many people close to Elvis said he didn’t want to marry Priscilla, so why did he? He was forced to by colonel Tom Parker, the man who owned him. The colonel was the real groomer/narcissist/puppeteer. Everyone in Elvis’ close circle said that he was the most compassionate, kind, generous, talented, funny person you’ll ever meet, but he had anger management issues due to the trauma he had as a child/young man and continued to experience through his association with the colonel and his other handlers. The brightest lights have the darkest shadows. Yes, ALOT of famous people are total assholes, I know, but Elvis wasn’t one of them. He was the victim of a tragic story, not Priscilla, but unfortunately he’s not here to defend himself, thanks to the colonel, who was the cause of his death. And a long, painful death it was.

Here's my research: Whether this film is a heap of lies from Priscilla or not, I will not be watching it. If he'd been outed for the grooming pe*oph*lic behavior that he engaged in (e.g. having pillow fight parties with 12 and 13 year olds brought up to the mansion, getting a 14 year old pregnant while on tour and dumping her at a paid off doctor's with money for an abortion in the middle of the night before he went into the Army, and of course, everything he allegedly said and did publically and privately to manipulate and control Priscilla previous to their marriage), his career would have ended as it begun.

Priscilla is close to lying or completely lying about the thunderbolt and TCB. The thunderbolt was inspired by Elvis's boyhood fascination with Captain Marvel who had the logo on his chest. I am familiar with the story you are recounting. As well as the book I used to own, "Elvis and Gladys." However, the original Captain Marvel that Elvis referenced is now known to the world as "Shazam," a young man who is initiated into the possession of magical powers and authority, after a Wizard who has been watching and reviewing him decides that he is a perfect adept. Basically, witchcraft. Wizard, warlock, shaman, whatever. Same difference. He offers him the power and gifting of multiple Greek gods, as well as the secret knowledge/wisdom of Solomon (Israel's King that famously turned away from worshiping the God of the Bible, who gave him the gift of such wisdom, it astonished the whole world. He proudly and selfishly followed after and sacrificed to the gods and goddesses his many wives and concubines worshipped; it didn't end well for Solomon, as he amassed a great amount of demonic and Satanic knowledge before he died by manipulating his gifting for evil). All that to say that Elvis' favorite is apropos. The symbolic use of a lightning bolt as the source of Captain Marvel/Shazam's power hasn't changed its meaning to this day. Whether it's the spiritual symbol of the gods Thor (sometimes known as the Phoenician Bel or Baal, the Egyptian Osiris and Kneph), Set, Zeus, and Jupiter/the Gestapo SS officers from WW2 who wore the lightning bolts on their uniforms meant to strike terror in the hearts of those who saw them (they were designed after ancient Bavarian runic inscriptions found in an excavation by one of the most feared and hated men in Na*i Germany, Heinrich Himmler)/Freddie Mercury wearing his Flash Gordon thunderbolt t-shirt while singing about "Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very frightening me" and "Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me" (during the filming of an earlier performance in his career, Freddie also claimed that Satan himself had given him the beautiful gloves he was wearing)/KISS ("Knights in Satan's Service") using it for the last 2 letters of their band's name/Lil Nas X referencing it on his Satan shoes, with Luke 10:18 "I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven," and on and on - "Taking care of business" may have been an African-American slogan Elvis adopted for himself, but the addition of that thunderbolt adds a whole new layer of meaning. I believe the truth rests between his story and Priscilla's. It's intentionally covered over with lies and half truths.
If he'd been outed for the grooming pe*oph*lic behavior that he engaged in (e.g. having pillow fight parties with 12 and 13 year olds brought up to the mansion, getting a 14 year old pregnant while on tour and dumping her at a paid off doctor's with money for an abortion in the middle of the night before he went into the Army, and of course, everything he allegedly said and did publically and privately to manipulate and control Priscilla previous to their marriage), his career would have ended as it begun.
The fact that it was a different time back in the 1960s doesn't really matter.
AGE OF CONSENT WAS 16 in the 1960s' instead of 18, THAT was the only difference. HOWEVER, Elvis and Priscilla LIVED ON DIFFERENT CONTINENTS during Priscilla's 14th, 15th, 16th, and most of her 17th year.
They weren't even PUBLICLY DATING UNTIL SHE WAS 18. So there is ZERO EVIDENCE and a WHOLE LOT OF FABRICATED BS FROM PRISCILLA in her book and movies that she clearly made up for her Hollywood trash novel to trick young people or people that do not follow her regularly.
She is a gold digger, so this isn't a METOO thing, this is a COVERUP THING (She stole from her daughter MILLIONS OF DOLLARS that was Elvis' gift to his daughter), a GOLD DIGGER THING.

Well then you are and they are morons- lemmings that believe everything you hear.
The film was A VERY, VERY, AGONIZINGLY SLOOOOW TRAIN-WRECK of LIES and INACCURACIES. Priscilla covers for her parents AND HER OWN CRIMES, and only points the finger at Elvis, one of the KINDEST and most GENEROUS human beings that EVER LIVED. No one who has followed Priscilla's relentless uncorroborated gold digger drama, including her daughter (who tragically recently passed) is buying her account here or in her 1985 book.
Historians, Truth seekers and Elvis fans in the know aren't fighting. Some of us have followed her for many many years. I read her book when it came out in 1985. We just know the truth, and are happy to share it. Why are SOME so eager to believe Priscilla and draw a dead man's legacy through the mud? Some just love a metoo narrative. Those people don't even BOTHER to do an integrity check on the one accusing Elvis, they just take her word for it and follow blindly along like a Lemming without doing a shred of research?? How smart is that?
Her CREDIBILITY and LACK OF EVIDENCE is the problem. Feel free to believe who you want, but at least do some basic research first:
CREDIBILITY FAIL #4: Priscilla's parents encouraged her relationship with Elvis because they were starstruck and wanted status and money. When Elvis was back in the States they discouraged Priscilla from dating with boys in Germany. Her mother, Ann Iversen, pushed Priscilla to write love letters to Elvis, who occasionally called Priscilla and was back with girlfriend Anita Wood. It was Priscilla, ordered by Ann, who begged Elvis to invite her to the US and it was her parents who forced Priscilla to move to Graceland although she wanted to stay in Germany with her then-boyfriend.
CREDIBILITY FAIL #5: After the divorce, Priscilla and Lisa Marie lived in a house that exposed not a single photo of Elvis Presley, the man, Priscilla claims, is the love of her life. Elvis certainly didn't believe her. In her book Elvis and Me, Priscilla seems to depict herself as the innocent victim of a bad man, Elvis Presley, but in reality, it is the other way around. It was Elvis Presley, who was manipulated and exploited by Priscilla and her parents. You don't publish negative books/films/interviews about the "love of your life".
CREDIBILITY FAIL #6: When Elvis had died, Priscilla was overheard telling her half-sister Michelle, giggling, that everybody thought she was crying behind her sunglasses but in reality, she was laughing. Priscilla thought she would inherit from Elvis but she did not. Elvis removed Priscilla from his will in February 1977 and left everything to HIS DAUGHTER Lisa Marie.
CREDIBILITY FAIL #7: Priscilla tried to challenge the will BACK THEN but to no avail. ONLY AFTER Elvis' death, did Priscilla IMMEDIATELY resume the use of the profitable surname PRESLEY to promote herself. ** Elvis forbade her in the divorce agreement to use his name but Priscilla has no respect for Elvis' wishes. **
CREDIBILITY FAIL #8: JUST FOUR DAYS after the funeral of Lisa Marie Priscilla challenged Lisa Marie's will from 2016 that removed her as trustee and placed Riley and deceased Benjamin in her seat. Now Riley has agreed that she will pay Priscilla $1.4 MILLION,-- and a guaranteed yearly allowance, during 10 years, to stop her from challenging Lisa Marie's will. Priscilla is also paid subtrustee over 1/9 of the Presley-estate that halfbrother Navarone Garbaldi gets. In a will, that Lisa Marie drew up in 1993, when she was 25, she left, in case of death, 1/9 of her estate to Navarone whom she then adored but when Lisa Marie died she had broken off all contact with Navarone, who publicly scolded her and wished her dead.
CREDIBILITY FAIL #9: After all her uncorroborated accusatory nonsense that Elvis was a creepy child molestor --- she DEMANDS TO BE BURIED RIGHT NEXT TO HIS COFFIN SIDE BY SIDE FOR ETERNITY IN HIS BACKYARD.. moving Elvis' beloved mother and fathers resting places!!!! .. even though she divorced him 50 years ago and has had a child with another man and her own life with other people for half a century. Priscilla ruined her own credibility when she stole millions of dollars from Elvis trust without her own daughters consent. She stole from her child. She is an untrustworthy gold digger and fraudster.
THE SAD REALITY THAT SOFIA JUST GETS WRONG IN THIS TOTAL FABRICATION FILM: Priscilla Wagner Beaulieu is only interested in being famous and rich. She has exploited Elvis, Lisa Marie and now Riley, Finley and Harper. Priscilla is a narcissist who uses people and then discards them.
EPE should boycott Priscilla's strategic fantasy of lies. HOW in God's name or otherwise, can anyone else BELIEVE PRISCILLA, or worse support her? She is attacking Elvis' name and USING HIS LAST NAME (illegally I might add) with NO EVIDENCE. and NO EYEWITNESSES. Come on.

I will not watch this film, but if I'd been present when you said that, you would have had a dry chuckle from me. And, a long sigh.
Whether this film is a heap of lies from Priscilla or not, you also have to consider the fact that Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker, was a con man of the highest order - he spun everything that Elvis did in every way that worked to their (his) benefit.

If you see a movie based on Child bride you will know who is the real asshole. I would also love to see a movie based on Michael Edwards book, especially when a drugged out Priscilla beats the hell out of Lisa Marie in the street after prissy snorted a line of cocaine and the neighbors called the police.
