Bought my Amphibia 1985 and it must have been under water for hundereds of times ever since. I am a regular swimmer and I went scuba diving down to 20 meters a few times with it. Never ever had fog or even water inside, the crown just needs to be screwed in properly. It is still going strong and now loses around 8 seconds a day. It IS military spec and the water resistance goes way beyond 200 meters, this has been tested many times. You can absolutely trust it. There is no better quality automatic watch for this price.
Really? 31 jewels. 200 meters. Boctok = vostock in Russian alphabet. 2 piece case back with a flat, wide gasket instead of an o ring. The case back does not shear the gasket as it does not rotate. The outer ring turns to tighten it down. Therefore, the gasket never gets sheared or "broken" and can be reused over & over even if the caseback is removed several times. The water pressure presses on the crystal & case back to increase water resistance the deeper you go. So shallow submersion such as a swimming pool may not be as resistant. There are tons of videos on UA-cam explaining how it all works and why it was designed like that. It's easy to stumble upon vids. Go look. Then you can explain it's functionality better. It IS 200 meters wr. Check out vids, there's proof. These were real deal military dive watches back in the day. They are more "everyone" watches now but retain the same design lineage. The crown is chrome plated brass, like the bezel.
I love these watches! I have 3! And 1 Raketa vintage from the 70's....thanks for the video! I get all my new Vostoks from Meranom! Good service and quick responses to emails!
The crown is supposed to wobble like that. It has a clutch type system so if it gets knocked the stem won't stab into the movement. Автоподзавод means automatic winding. Vostok QC on the new ones has gotten pretty wonky. Misaligned hands...I got one where one of the lume pips had fallen off, etc. The Soviet era ones are a lot more solid.
I got one of these on ebay and gave it a brushed finish with a scotchbrite pad. The polished finish was just too much for me, but brushed with a matching bracelet it looks fantastic.
Hi! Probably, I'm the only russian here so I'm gonna try (hopefully, my russian skills will be enough for that :) ) to translate words on the Amphibia. So from top to bottom: Амфибия - Amphibia, Автоподзавод - Automatic, 31 камень - 31 jewels, сделано в России - made in Russia. Also I would like to notice, that you're making a really cool watch content!
Thanks for the Fireside chat! The 420 case Vostok’s Are comfortable and great if you want a smaller dive watch. I threw a ‘Coke’ bezel on it, a nice aftermarket rubber strap,And one of those cool little watch-strap-compasses. Now I have a luminox For a 10th price! You can swim with it by the way. The crown thing is completely normal… Odd… But normal. And don’t touch my corn nuggets… Unless you’re a hot blonde with big gazzambas...
It is supposed to be wound while being worn. the crown threads catch at the back side. Silicone grease will help the crown feeling. The crown itself is brass capped with stainless steel.
What's the issue with sapphire crystals? Ok, they don't scratch, but aren't they supposed to be more fragile and vulnerable to impacts? I can live with a scratch, but with a shatter?
I have one, and one on the way, as well as various modding parts. Except for the finish, bezels, and lume, they are more intelligently designed, and functionally superior to Seiko's entry level iso divers (and I have and love several), imho. Even the bracelets are superior. Well, as depilators, anyway.
Why I do declare Jethro have you not seen the torture test Videos of freezing , boiling & pressure ? I enjoy the winding on them very easy. Order a SS 👑 if u don't like that one . Lol 🥂
Keep your day job. Your attempt at ah impersonations or accents was a real turn off. It made for a less than "was that a review or audition?" Was that a legitimate fire? :) Did the cat catch fire? :/ Now that might be worth watching crispy cat on a stick. If you dive the rotating bezel tightens the deeper you go. The wobbly stem if it gets pulled hard enough or push the wrong way might break off without hurting the watch. Rehearse or polish your act and Vostock and what are corn nuggets? I'm on my second Vostok (scuba dude, first one is a 24 hr submariner and will do an honest review on a stick for that), btw what's the name of your kitty? :)
The vast majority Amphibias are 22mm btw ,only 3 are 18mm .Dont buy them on Amazon .I get mine in 2 or 3 days on ebay or go to the factory site by searching vostokinc and save a TON of money

Excellent explanation that the video did not do !

Никита Александров Thank you!
The 120813 is a good looking watch.
My scuba dude came with a rubber strap which was shorter.

you can confidently dive into them. the main thing to completely twist the crown. Do not be afraid. This is proven three generations

The big sized silicon straps are a mark of true diver watch. Most of diving watches are worn over the diving suite that can be quite thick.

Nothing wrong with the finish .I have 7 and they are all perfectly well finished .
@@Dave062YT Yes, my dissing of the finish was unjustified. I have 4 now, and they ARE all excellently finished. Great watches!
Great watch, but why a leather field watch strap on a diver?
You are super funny. Thank you.
These are hardcore watches, I dive with my Vostok Scubadude.
TheFirstOfMyKind Scuba dude is next on my list to get!
It is not wobbly ,it is made that way so a bang on it wont brake it , more so it is made of brass and nickel plated
That's the exact same watch i'm wearing while I'm watch this.
I have 7 so far 5 ish more case shapes to go .The dial says automatic 31 jewels 200m and at the bottom of the dial made in Russia
It's actually 41.7mm
Why I do declare Jethro have you not seen the torture test Videos of freezing , boiling & pressure ? I enjoy the winding on them very easy. Order a SS 👑 if u don't like that one . Lol 🥂
Can you please share the link for the leather strap?
Dial says Automatic 31 jewels
В россии это очень дешевые часы, смотри модели намного дороже
not a fan.... cheers
