The BEST EVER Kung Pao Shrimp! Authentic flavors!

  • This recipe uses an authentic Kung Pao sauce as found in China, with SHRIMP, which is very popular in the USA. Also adds some vegetables (onion and bamboo shoots) which is common here also.
    Recipe:
    20 raw shrimp, butterflied
    1 c peanuts
    5-10 dry red chili peppers
    4 green onions
    1 T ginger
    1 T garlic
    1 t szechuan peppercorns
    3 T oil to fry as needed
    optional veggies:
    half onion, can bamboo shoots
    marinate shrimp 10 min with:
    1 T sherry or shaoxing wine
    1 t cornstarch
    1/4 t white pepper
    1 T oil
    sauce:
    3T water
    2 t chili garlic paste
    1T light soysauce
    1 t dark soysauce
    1 T vinegar, rice wine
    1 T sugar or subst.
