My dream project!
Stick around it’ll be fun!
Good shit I’m definitely going to follow your build. I want to see you break those 320hp max myth
320 is safe for stock internals. It's not a limit in any case.
@@werner-gunterschmidt1619 what’s your plan for tuning ? Do you have a tuner or are you doing the tuning yourself self?
@@briansackey1372 amen to that! Thanks for watching
@@briansackey1372 mackanized seems to be the guy that everyone is sending me to for tuning the T8. If we go standalone then lots more tuner options
I'm over 320 now on stock internals bub
I just bought a 2004 Aero 2.0 with 6-spd two months ago and I LOVE it. I wanna do some upgrades like this but just to get a little bit more fun out of it for the street. Aiming for about 350 hp but not ready to get started just yet. I'm new to Saab ownership but I've always wanted one. Really looking forward to this build!
@@FutureBets congrats and welcome to the club! 350 is a super manageable number and hopefully I do a dyno where I show 350 on this setup very safely
Excellent work ! What’s the max power these 9-3 04-2011 can hold ?
Liked and subbed ✔️
Looking forward to seeing progress on this!
You and me both!
Love to see it bro keep it up 🙏🏽
Thanks fellas! We meeting in Texas soon to race these bad boys 🔥
Im on the same journey to upgrade my 2.0T just redid the head on it. I also have the relocation ecu done but will relocate it inside the cabin.
Love it! Def hit the relocation for longevity, watch my new video on the t8 relocation
use an oil filter plate for oiling solution. they also will have additional accessory ports if you plan to run a oil pressure gauge.
Okay is that similar to like an oil sump solution? Good note on the oil pressure gauge I’ll definitely tap one of those
The 2.0 LHU ecotec variants that the last MY 9-3's had can get to 500hp with strengthened rods. And because it's still only 4 cylinder, the car is much lighter than the cars with the 6cylinder engines. Zzp still sells those LHU ecotec's fully built and ready to be dropped in to the engine bay.
I thought LNF blocks were more comparable? Or is that just the turbo ecotec first gen of the cobalts?
@@thejsgarage yep the lnf's are generation 1 ecotecs like the ldk. But if you Google "The last car to leave the old Saab factory" you can see the picture of the engine bay of the last model year 9-3's and it's unmistakeably an LHU. I don't know what modifications were made to do it but it can be done.
@@Pr0fess0rx29 super interesting, thanks for that!
I take it your familiar with these Saab 9-3 engines ?
Don’t listen to the nay sayers! If your motivated you’ll figure it out 👍🏾
Appreciate the comment!! You’re right!
The engineblock is only rated for around 450nm, so that's gonna crack pretty fast... You need to get the Gen 3 block, aka LNF from the regal or NG9-5
Yess great feedback!
Let's get a poll going. What will break and how many wot pulls it will take if actual hp is 500.
I go first: piston/cylinder will explode to a million pieces, number 4 first. It will take 1-3 pulls.
I have broken 8 b207s "testing" limitations. Have fun :)
I love this hahah I’m going to put this poll into my next videos 😂😂 and then proceed to film as I break everything on the first pull lol
for 500HP u need at least 3 inch exhaust all the long, maybe 1/2 muffler for the sound
Yessir you’re correct!! Muffler and maybe cone setup will be critical because these 2.0’s don’t tend to sound that great with a free flowing exhaust
at this point I'm convinced they all come misfiring from factory😂😭😭
Haha not far off. These coils are such trash idk how GM even passed these through testing
Did your how'd your other ecu break?
Usually they just start to throw the common CEL codes and the car runs rougher and rough until your injectors just stay open and the car smokes like a banshee.
Are you going to be doing a water methanol injection setup with this?
Yessir! Most likely two nozzles. With variable spray volume based on boost pressure
did you get the zzp Lnf manifold or did you need the LSJ one for the spacer?
@@UrbanSmokes21 LNF one! Seems to be straightforward fitnent
@@UrbanSmokes21 got the LNF manifold. Seems to be straight forward fitment!
Most people can't get that much power out of a stock B207, interested to see how this goes. Are you keeping the trionic8 ecu?
True! Plan is to keep it but I’ve heard over 350ish HP the T8 get a little finicky but I’ll keep it as long as I can. The only big turbo 2.0 I can find on UA-cam was running a standalone so curious why they made the jump if T8 could handle it .. we shall see!
@@thejsgarage the first issue will be the MAF will top out at about ~330 hp. Then you'll either have to install it in a bigger pipe and rescale it through the software or change the MAF with a bigger one and also calibrate the ecu for the new sensor.
Trionic8 forums will help you a lot on this.
People report that after 1.6 bars the block starts to fail because of the open deck design.
@@nikolasbalogiannis3577 yeah I’ve read that the 3bar MAF sensor is what most of the cobalt guys step up to?
Pistons will die around 360hp
We’ll see very soon!
@@thejsgaragethere's nothing to see, it's proven many times.
Turbo and externall are crap....i never understood why buy these cheap crapy Chinese turbos and externals when you are trying to buid something good.
Just to prove the concept - when you’re pushing limits why would you blow up a $1200 borg when you can blow up a $200 china turbo?
@@thejsgarage Because most likely the Borg will not blow....
@@saaber95 if the turbo blows I’ll personally reply to this comment, admit you were right, and pin it. Deal? lol
At this boost and hp levels, it makes no difference. The tech has come so far, that only idiots and people pushing big hp should worry about that. If you have a drag build where you need to push it all day, sure. Anything else, no
We used to make 1000 hp OM606’s using old shitty truck turbos. A 200$ turbo now, is better than a 2000$ turbo ten years ago
