    ---
On July 9, 2010, I had an industrial accident, severing my foot about an inch above the ankle, and after surgery ultimately resulting in a lower leg amputation about 4 inches below the knee. This is my 911 call to the Orange County Sheriff's Office and the Orange County Fire Department in its entirety. I am very pleased with the job they did keeping me alert and responsive, and I have stayed in contact with all three of the people in this audio, including the responding officer who found me. Also, do not blame me for the beeps… they were put in by the county lol.
Thanks for watching/ listening to the video!

Endlessly frustrating the caller by saying over and over "we don't know where you are and do not have anyone on the way to help you" This raises blood pressure and creates more fear/adrenalin accelerating a bleed out. It also desroys confidence in a positive solution .... Sounds like the absolute worst dialogue possible.

I worked in one and as I was getting a tour during my interview she was telling me stories about the different injury’s, one guy when the belt stopped jumped onto it to run up to the second level and it started moving again and he fell off down to the ground, was in the hospital for a few weeks and when he finally came back to work months later he got fired lol they literally waited until he was all healed and ready to come back to fire him.

This whole call is fascinating and gives good insight into the brain chemistry of extreme trauma. The call starts with him in shock, but he progressively gets more loopy as his blood pressure drops. Another few minutes and he probably would've passed out.
Often when people imagine being in situations like this, they imagine the pain, but usually the pain comes later after the initial shock. There's a surreal feeling of both calm and panic that allows you to keep a clear head despite the stress.
