    Windy Barham You can just as well use isopropyl alcohol,you don’t need the extender or cleaner at all, the alcohol does the same thing and it’s much more affordable. This should of been included in the video. Just make sure it’s at least 91% alcohol, there is also 99%.

    Hi Jane. You're a great teacher! Question: How are you caring for your brushes? Are you just cleaning them in the clean up solution afterwards or using something else? Thank you in advance.

    • @JaneMonteith
      @JaneMonteith  6 років тому +2

      Sydney Kamin Aww, Thank you 🙏🏼😊. I generally use clean up solution or straight alcohol in a bowl to clean them. After that I use either Speedball pink soap or dish soap in water and foam it right up. Finish by drying off with paper towel. 👍🏼👌🏼

    Hi Jane!! I just found your videos today and I’ve already watched so many. I LOVE your work and I’m thrilled to have access to your tutorials. I’ve never done AI but had planned to start soon. My question is how often do you have to purchase the inks, extender, and clean up solution? I realize a little can go a long way; however, while I may be wrong, it seems like a lot could be used when layering/doing backgrounds, etc. Thank you so very much for sharing your talent, knowledge, experience, and inspiration with us and I appreciate your assistance!!

    I have watched 3 of your videos and they are very informative. Beautiful results! I am definitely inspired to give this a try.
    My concern however, is the throw away this and throw away that. Being Canadian, recycling is very important. Also, is there any special clean up precautions necessary when you're finished with the resin? I can't imagine it being ok to just flush it into the water system. . .
    Thank you for the videos. I really enjoyed them ☺

    • @JaneMonteith
      @JaneMonteith  6 років тому +2

      Amy Lougheed awesome thanks for watching. I hardly throw much away. I keep a lot of my ‘afters’. Yes should always be careful with any products you use. Please read safety/use on all products. Some people are also allergic to inks and resin so mask and gloves should be worn. 👍🏼😊 clean up resin - wipe out your plastic container with paper towel. Let dry and then peel away resin film later in order to reuse. I don’t throw resin down the drain. Nobody should.

    Another GREAT idea Jane! I discovered AI recently for one of my polymer clay projects. Now i want to put AI on EVERYTHING! I am so glad I found you on youtube...I am learning A LOT! I haven't used resin yet but I will be attempting that soon. I was wondering if I need to seal paintings on yupo paper that will be framed? I have put AI on ceramic tea cups for a candle project. I have to order some Kamar and UV Protectant as i can't find Kamar in any of the craft stores. I used some other spray recommended by a non AI expert and of course the AI just ran. Fortunately, the ceramic dish still looks pretty darn cool! I am definitely stocking up on Kamar! Thank you for ALL that you teach and share with us AI addicts! Is your book out yet?

    Hi from lovely Northern Cali. I would like to know if your clean up solution is similar to, or the same as, isopropyl alcohol. I'm trying to save some $$ here. I just found your vids today and am thoroughly enjoying them. Thank you.

    • @JaneMonteith
      @JaneMonteith  7 років тому +2

      Barbara Wightman Hi Barbara. Thanks for watching! Funny you should ask. My last video I talked about using 99% isopropyl alcohol. I had run out of clean up so had to substitute. It does work the same however the clean up solution has zero odour and you don't have to worry about ventilation. I prefer using clean up by I totally understand if you're trying to save $$ 😊

    Hi Jane, love this look, do you have to use contact paper or can you use tape? I just watched your video in which you try out the seven types of tape and thought i might give that a go

    • @JaneMonteith

      Michelle Fraser you could use tape but if it’s connected in pieces then you will get bleed under the joins.
