When u talk emcee, u gotta look at them as a whole. and what i mean by that is their most important attributes, lyricism, flow, vocals, delivery, aura/confidence...not just their bars. cuz there's alot of kats who are lyrically great but their flow, vocals, aura and delivery are trash (like earl sweatshirt for example lol).
if takes more than lyrics nowadays to be called a truly great emcee, it's about polishing all your attributes aswell which i list above.
so if we're talking emceeing as a whole? (lyrics, flow, vocals, delivery, aura), these to me are the most skilled best emcees in hip hop. (im ignoring all these kats music, whether it's good or not is irrelevent y'all, this is simply off their skills alone im judging them from)👇.

Big Pun should be in Top 5.
No
Kaan?
aesop rock number 0
LUPE FIASCO
Eminem is already one of the Greatest rappers of all time if not THE greatest by majority opinion. To many factors to consider when ranking by lyricism. I believe we should name our videos with ( in my opinion) in parentheses lol. There's Aesop, MF DOOM, Tech Nine, Busdriver, Royce, Joyner , DAX, Redman, and yes quite a few more. Good list though.
Where tf is MF DOOM?
GZA? MF DOOM? Aesop Rock? wtf man.
What songs would u use?
@@mrpurplejeans that is a REAL hard one to pin down. If I had to choose one each from the top of my head Id say 0% Finance by GZA, Sofa King by MF DOOM, Five Fingers by Aesop Rock. (at least those are the ones I listened to more often in the last couple of months)
@@FatManJackson what songs would you use for kool keith, vinnie paz and monch? Also ka and ofcourse del the funky homosapian?
@@mrpurplejeans I dont really listen to Kool Keith, for Vinnie I think (if it counts) Retaliation and for Monch somethin from Internal Affairs. I think either Right Here or Behind Closed Doors. But may I know why you asking me those questions?
@@FatManJackson just curious tbh
how can you put don at 29th place? are u fucking serious?
immortal technique above don 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
kool g rap at 19th place lmaoo 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@nicksarjveladze441 how good is don?
cave man better than anyone who ever touched the mic
@@nicksarjveladze441 what's you top five?
I’m not feeling this list, where’s Nas, Az, Lupe Fiasco, MF doom, Red man or even Biggie Smalls
Vocab wise real wordsmith is aeaop rock tho
Tech n9ne is missing
Wordplay is corny. If metaphors and punchlines are what makes a good lyricist, then nikki manage should be your goat
Eminem should've been upper.
You forgot cise star.... especially eyedea.
Eyedea is in cise star?
@@kermitgod7413 No just mentioning rappers.
This is a solid list, I personally would’ve pushed back the first 5 in this video and squeezed in MF DOOM, Nas, Lupe fiasco, Black Thought, and shi maybe even Kendrick.
i don't agree with this list Eminem should have been in a higher position you left out MF DOOM Aesop rock and Lupe fiasco and blackthought and locksmith K Rino the most creative rapper ever his metaphors are stupidly smart he defiantly top 3 but Lupe fiasco is better
and Earl the sweatshirt KAAN Royce
Eminem is quantity
Nope not top 2p
you could've used a better canibus verse
Eminem is #1 and I mean marshall his whole life.
2 is lil wayne the kendrick/tupac then logic then joey bada$$
Marshall Mathers lil Wayne? What the fuck
No
Where did this comment come from?
Nahhhh 😂
@@Armando316 hey i wanted to ask you what's your top 10 lyrisist?
Tell me a white guy made this list without telling me a white guy made this list 😂 lyricism is more than big words and lyrical, miracle, spiritual shit, subject matter matters a whole fucking lot. Jay, Nas, Pharaohe, DOOM, Mos Def, Talib Kweli and a whole gang of others are missing. To me this list reeks of a suburban kid thinking he knows what lyricism is but doesn't have a clue amd that's coming from someone who's a huge fan of a lot of the cats on this list.
Go listen to chief keef or Gucci mane 🤷
@@JosephS-dj9os No more recommendations from you please. If they're your kind of artists though go hard.
@@mrchaotiq I don't listen to mush mouth nursery rhymes 🤷
@@JosephS-dj9os Well you mentioned 2 dudes I've never listened to so you must listen to some garbage. I'm guessing the truth in my comment triggered you. White dudes that come off a little try hard list MCs like Celph Titled, Diabolic, Vinnie, R.A etc so that's why I said what I said. Some of those guys have good verses, some even have good albums (R.A in particular) but none of them are well versed or varied enough to really epitomize an MC, at least to me.
@@mrchaotiq oh man another bandwagon wack Miller fan? Lolz we all know you love trap/drill rap stop fronting
Where. The. Hell. Is. Tupac.
Marshall Mathers he isn’t a good lyricist
@@betterpeople3713 ha you're funny
Lyrically pac is above average but he isnt a wordsmith.
@Cyborg Boter I never said he wasn't but the thing is pac isn't a wordsmith like these guys.
Marshall Mathers no you’re funny the fact that you said he is a wordsmith. He is a get in the feels rapper and barely top 50
Where is beast 1333
