I love your recipes so much, more then any other keto channel. Two reasons 1. You give absolutely perfect amounts like in cups and grams, 2. Your videos are not that long that person can get bore. You are awesome 🙏❤️
I'm so glad I found this channel. I know you mainly made this aimed at people on keto diets but as a type 1 diabetic this is a lifesaving channel. So many (good) foods have carbs in them and ruin the control I have over my blood sugar. It's hard to find snacks that have little to no carbs while still tasting good. You make this easy with these wonderful recipes that are simple and tasty. Thank you so much!
you should try taking a tablespoon of turmeric+coconut oil+black pepper every morning. plenty of peer-reviewed studies on using turmeric as treatment to diabetes. also some plant called moringá oleifera should help. God bless you and best wishes.
I have two Type 1s at home , another one Celiac and I'm an At-risk type 2 so I do mainly keto at home. There's only one other kid with a dairy allergy who can't keto but well.... still very grateful to Joe Duff for many excellent recipes
@@carmencalderondv Would need to add a bit of sugar to activate the yeast. Then hope the yeast uses it all up - yeast eats the sugar and makes the air that rises the dough. Chemistry chemistry Yada yada.
Made these in a pinch last night. Came out great!!! Only thing I didn't have was psyllium husk powder. I used chia seeds as a substitute & they still came out great. Thanks for the recipe! You're a lifesaver!
This recipe is superb 👍 I followed it to the t but agreed 1 tbsp apple cider to give it a slightly bread like smell. Turned out marvelous wish I could share a photo with u, Joe. I want to buy your cookbook in hard copy
Yeah. There it is Joe. Whiskify and spatchelize. I wondered where they went. Just wasnt the same when l didnt hear those words. Thanks for the great video. And nice buns Joe. I am craving a good burger. So l am definately gonna try this bun. Much love. ❤️🇨🇦
I've been making almost the exact same recipe for a year. Though no husk. I hate that stuff. And I use 6 eggs instead of the water/oil and 2 eggs. I'll have to switch out. I'm sick of buying so many eggs. I also sometimes add in 1/2 pack of yeast and 2 packs stevia to give it a true bread flavor. I also take this recipe and make 8 hotdog rolls with it, but making aluminum foil molds.
Hi. Can you just add the 1/2 pack to Joe's recipe above with the stevia? Do you think that would work? I miss the taste and smell (lol) of a good yeast roll/bread. Thank you so very much.
@@tiffanyhernandez3322 haha! IKR! That smell! My mouth waters!! What I do is use like 1 tablespoon of water, and "bloom" the yeast in 2 packs. I assume you can use 1 pack, or maybe a pinch of monk fruit or anything else you want. The first few times I did it, I used like 1 teaspoon of honey to bloom the yeast. Yes, it's an extra 4 carbs or so, but spread out over 6 rolls, it doesn't affect the macros too much. Though I couldn't taste the honey, so I switched to those Splenda stevia packs in the green and grey box. I'd say use whatever you want! Let's bring the real bread smell and taste back! :D
@@tsareno1 Not nearly as much as with sugar, but as long as they're fresh and warm, they'll populate a little tiny bit and it'll foam up enough to release that yeast aroma.
Ive just made these, started keto for new years resolution. It is so yummy, one question...would you be able to make a loaf with these ingredients? And what would the cooking time be🤔
I was thinking that these would be less carbs... I was surprised. Hoping for 10 g or less but I will have to give these a try. So far I have not found a recipe with the flavor and texture to my liking. Thanks for giving me options.

Hi Joe!! On News Years Eve and Day I made your keto chilli recipe and these hamburger buns! Oh my goodness, the chilli was so delicious, but the huge hit for me was the delicious Hamburger Buns! So moist, not eggy tasting and such an amazing rich texture! Thank you for posting your videos which I follow as my recipe book! Super huge fan from Thunder Bay Ontario Canada 😌😌 Happy New Year to you and your family!!
So excited to try these! Your recipes are always so easy to follow and have worked out for me almost all the time, so I'm always happy to see when you release a new video! Guess it's burgers for dinner today! 😊
Those do look great, however I think we suffer from making things look like the real thing and therefore they don't function like it due to being much more dense. I think I'd prefer something thinner but that is about equal in terms of weight to normal bread. Or even less so that the fillings can be the star of the show and the bun is just to protect your hands and to hold it all together.
Hi Joe, I noticed that this exact recipe is not in either one of your books..The one in your book is the one with yeast..so where can we find this recipe? Thanks, R
Can i do 2 or 3 batchs of these burger buns and freeze them fir later? Was looking for a high fiber hamburger/ bread . Already use flax meal in my cookies to mske more nutrious. My son is a picky eater and he ssid they were good. Added a little extra water so they would be dry csuse i used the powder form of fiber. Despite letting it sit for 1/2 without the extra flour which i addedd later, it still is amszing hamburger bun..oh didn't hsve ghf brush to brush on egg and still look and tasted good.
1.75 cups almond flour 0.5 cup flaxseed meal, golden 2 tablespoons psyllium husk whole 0.5 tablespoon baking powder, 10g (measure) 1 teaspoon xanthan gum 0.5 teaspoon salt 0.75 cup water, hot 2 large eggs, beaten 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon sesame seeds 1. Place the first 6 ingredients in a bowl and mix. 2. Add the water, eggs, and olive oil to the bowl. Use a spatula to combine the liquid and dry ingredients. 3. Add in another .25 cup of almond flour. Mix it into the dough and form a ball. 4. Place the ball into the bowl and cover with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes. 5. Use a scale to divide the dough into 4 bun shapes, gently. Hi Jeff. Thanks for the tutorial. I can’t wait to try this recipe seeing as I have to start avoiding carbs (they knock me out). I just have a question about one of the recipe components. Isn’t flax highly estrogenic and should be avoided by men?
Trying this now. Forgot to mix the dry ingredients before adding the wet 😬. Too busy rewinding to get the measurements 🤦🏽♀️ hopefully they come out great 🤞
I am new to keto, would like to ask if I can not add flax meal and xanthan gum? How would it affecf the taste or texture? Have to travel a fair bit to get them and currently am kind of tight on budget :/
Leave a like if you're putting a hamburger between these buns 😎
So punny!!

Totally agree! Joe's recipes are my go to as they pretty much always work out for me - thank you!
I make these every so often. They are dense but good. I also add one tsp. of active dry yeast to the dough just to give it that earthy "bread" flavor.
Does the yeast end up adding some volume as well?
