2:20 Couple of things: The Flagg was based upon the retrofitted Essex class carriers operating from WWII to the late 1980s in the form of the USS Lexington (CV-16) and not the Nimitz class. Second the Nimitz class is in fact a super carrier.
I'm 43, and back in the day in my small hometown only 1 kid in school had the FLAGG. I'm glad he was one of my best friends. His parents got divorced and Dad left so his mom let him out it on their dining room table. It was so much more fun playing with it at eye level basically. He still has it and he has three sons now. Not one of them has shown interest in playing with it at all. When he told me that it made us both kinda sad. So obviously I tried to buy it from him but he's still holding out hope. I tried to tell him that FLAGG can't replace a cell phone or tablet. He agreed, but he still wants them to have it. I understand I have stuff put up for mine that I know they won't appreciate until they grow up. This video brings back a lot of memories for me. Bittersweet memories because I wish the world could turn around and be like that again. Such is life. Great review HCC. I know your done making videos so all I can say is thank you for the fun times I've had watching your backlog. I hope you can find peace brother, YO JOE!!!✌️
awesome review to start off the year with. Really glad you completed yours. No matter if you have people who have no idea about G.I. Joe or collect toys and they see one there will always be a wow factor with it just for its size alone. Can't wait to see part 2.
Awesome review! Thank you for doing it. Never had this piece when I was collecting this GI Joe stuff from 1991 to 1994. Would still love the opportunity to put this together for someone else.
+Jason Luttrull I'm very happy to know that my videos are must-see TV! :) I'll try to keep 'em coming. Though I can pretty much guarantee that the next one will not be as big as this one!
I was on the actual Nuclear Aircraft Carrier, called the USS Nimitz (aka Never Imagined Myself In This Zoo, or maybe as a USS Numnutz), and it was quite an experience, as part of a airwing.
I understand the Flagg’s popularity with collectors. It’s well detailed and the sort of thing must never had as kids but certainly wanted. But as an adult collector I’m not interested. First, I don’t like that it was basically pitched at rich kids. Nobody in my neighborhood owned one of these. Second, while many GI Joe vehicles/play sets were midget versions of the real thing, the Flagg is especially shrunken. A Flagg made to scale would be nearly 20 feet long. Third, a dedicated aircraft carrier wouldn’t make sense for a team line GI Joe. It takes weeks to move them from ocean to ocean. It would be faster to move Joes and their equipment from a base to whatever ship is closest. If you want to pretend the joes are on an aircraft carrier, launch them off a coffee table
Great review! I love your new intro too! I'm trying to sell a vintage Rolling Thunder due to space issues. If I don't have room for that I certainly don't have room for the Flagg. The poster would be the best I could do.
Awesome review and very entertaining to watch. And by far, you got the best detail explaination to the Admirals boat. Never knew that what it was for. And I notice you got a Night Force: Night Boomer Skystriker jet. I love to see a detailed review on that too! Keep it up!
For years now I've wanted to set up a display of the Flagg with a bunch of Classics Seeker mold Transformers. I think they would look fantastic on its flight deck.
How can we get hasbro to re-release/redo this fantastic piece of art? Can we get a campaign going? Like they backed the barge, we'll (Fund the flagg*.) price set at $450-500. Hopefully, we can get this off the ground and also have 3 or 4 installment plans
The Nimitz Class ic actually named after Adm. Chester A. Nimitz, who was CINCPAC during WW2. Also, the Nimitz Class IS a "super carrier", and, are the largest warships in service anywhere in the world.
+M.G.Villan I as wondering when I'd hear from you. Thanks! I'm glad you approve. This playset is a monster. I had to wrestle it into submission before I could review it.
That thing is huuuuge! Cannot imagine that in my lil room. You need a whole basement. How many of those they sold and how much was the retail price at first?
Thanks for the video. Do you have any thoughts on how to disassemble a Flagg? I'm looking to sell mine but am worried about damaging / breaking during disassembly. Thanks.
Nice review have been looking at these and looking to pick one up, just a question is your conning tower not missing a level? seems a little short, ahh maybe the answer is in Part 2,anyway nice video and thanks.
The Flagg is 6" longer than a California king sized bed!! Where would kids keep it? That would take up a large portion of their bed chamber!! Hell it would be worth it!! Get rid of you bed and sleep on the USS Flagg.
+erdio21 No, not me on the guitar. That's just stock music I got from a popular website. I wish I could play the guitar, but I'll just have to stick to talking about G.I. Joe.
This is by far the most comprehensive review of the U.S.S. Flagg I've seen. Great job, 788.
Watching this while assembling the Flagg on Christmas morning. The instructions are missing, so I don't think I could have done it without this video.

+Chris Michalec Yeah, just walk into someone's house and see that-- you have to find out what the hell it is!
Now that's how you kick off a new year of reviews! Outstanding job!
+Alamo Patriot Thank you! I thought 2016 should start big!

Some say it would be 60 feet long...

+Thor13332 Thank you! Yeah, the Rolling Thunder is pretty big, and the Flagg is much bigger. The 3DJoes posters are pretty sweet!
The Holy Grail of Holy Grails....
Amazing views and others for the flagg
+james strickland Thank you!
You gotta work out a corresponding bottom piece that matches with the cross beams that it stands on re GI-JOBURG. Awesome review!

The mother of all playsets :) thanks for sharing!
+Tony74lfc Thanks for watching!
Great job! This video was def worth the wait!
+Ben Penserga I'm glad it was worth it! Even with the extra week to work on it, I barely got it done in time!
I wonder how many kids fell asleep on Christmas Day on top of these...

Since I did this video, I found more information about the carrier that inspired the Flagg. I may need to do an update for this.
badass man happy new year my friend !!!! never even seen this one out of the box nice work man
+M.G.Villan I as wondering when I'd hear from you. Thanks! I'm glad you approve. This playset is a monster. I had to wrestle it into submission before I could review it.

IMO... we reach carrier 99, they SHOULD name it the USS Flagg!
+AnnMarie Evetts When the Navy gets close to commissioning a CV-99, we should start a petition!
+HoodedCobraCommander788 MOST definitely! Maybe we should start now? LOL

Wat about letting the flagg sleep in the other piece of the bunk bed!!! (I have a bunk bed👍👍
Love the new graphics and music. Is that you on guitar? Or was it you on the intro music in earlier videos?
+erdio21 No, not me on the guitar. That's just stock music I got from a popular website. I wish I could play the guitar, but I'll just have to stick to talking about G.I. Joe.
I never had one of these. I was more of a Transformers fan. I thought Fortress Maximus was huge.
the real CB,99 is gonna be Flagg, cuz that's how America rolls
